962: I don't have huge hands either (sorry ladies haah!) I think I can just stretch them pretty decent from my piano playing. I used to have to play 10th's in my left hand when doing some rag time piano stuff so my left hand has a greater span than my right. Hybrid picking stuff is so cool man! I use it alot to do EJ type rythm playing....kind of gives you the VH chordal sound, but with more of a country pluck twang to the high notes, real cool technique!

Vacation Packing

http://www.travelsmith.com/ts/packlist.jsp

Most of us overpack when we go on vacation. I know I'm constantly adding things to my suitcase, "just in case." Just in case I'm invited to dine with the Queen of England, I should bring a nice dress. Just in case I go running with the bulls, I should bring a jogging suit. Before I know it, I've got three heavy bags for a weekend trip.

Today's site has a checklist of what you should bring on a two week trip. You'll find men's and women's lists for any kind of climate and situation.

Al

Yeah for some reason we call it a prom...generally I guess we would call it a 'dance' or a 'ball' or something but my college is pretty Americanized and liked idea of calling it a prom.

I'm not sure if theres gonna be live bands there or a hired Dj....most likely a DJ...personally I would've preferred bands but with a DJ they are more likely to play "Wake me up before you go go" or "The Road To Amarillo"...which are great songs to dance to - especially when you're drunk.

Either way, its only till 11pm...then a bunch of us are moving on to "The Works", a massive club in Birmingham and we're on the guest list (cos' we're that important lmao...)

Teacher accused of enlisting students in fire plot

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Two failing students face arson charges after accepting teacher Tramesha Lashon Fox's offer of a passing score in exchange for torching her car in a botched insurance scheme, authorities said on Wednesday.

"All three have confessed," senior fire investigator Dustin Deutsch of the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office said.

Fox, 32, was in the process of surrendering to authorities, Deutsch and Fox's attorney told Reuters. Roger Luna, 18, was arrested on Tuesday while Darwin Arias, 17, was not yet in custody, Deutsch said.

The two males each face one count of arson, punishable by two to 20 years in prison. Fox faces charges of arson and insurance fraud, also punishable by two to 20 years in prison.

Fox's 2003 Chevrolet Malibu was reported stolen on May 27 and was found burned with signs of forced theft 12 days later in a wooded area near Arias' home, investigators said.

Investigators became suspicious when they learned Fox had bought a new 2005 Toyota Corolla a week before the Malibu -- on which she owed $20,000 -- was reported stolen.

"During preliminary interviews with the teacher, she advised us it was the work of students and gave us a list of six or seven, which I thought was kind of suspicious," Deutsch said, noting Luna and Arias were not on the list.

A check of calls made from Fox's cell phone pointed toward one of the other suspects, Deutsch said. Fox confessed in a subsequent interview and fingered Luna and Arias, he said.

Fox's attorney told Reuters he did not have enough information to comment on the details of the case.

Zenfish: I'm sure Steven will love it!! "So, still eating concerts like an ogre"....Yes, and I'm loving it! hehe! Next week I have 2 Eric Johnson shows and The Blues Brothers with Buddy Guy. Wooohooo!! Can't wait......as big bad moon 1889 said " the EJ show is gunna be sick". I'm listening to SRV Couldn't Stand the Weather, just got it recently. Stang's Swang is wicked!! Damn I miss Stevie!! :-(( Kick me for missing greatness!! There will NEVER be another like SRV.....

castle49: Robert Plant is such an incredible musician, you are going to love the show! He sounded fantastic and I liked the "different" versions of the Zep tunes he played. I will have to see him again very soon. Next time I'm just going to buy form a scalper. A guy I met bought a 5th row tix for 80 buck!! I paid 67 after TM charges for a $50 and I was in the next to the LAST row on the floor!! See what I mean? Here's another incredible musician I missed out during my hiatus.......all I can do is make sure I don't miss a thing if I can help it. They need to start paying me to be their photographers....I didn't get any photos of Plant being in the back. Next time I'll be in front! I have photos of him when he did the "Seas of Love" tour. No comparison to this stuff or Plant and Page. Congrats on the "red guitar" what charity auction was that..... Who's red guitar?

Clarky: I'll kick your ass if you don't give me a shout when you're in the states!!... lol! I was really hoping to see Vai in London, Glasgow and Newcastle.........not sure if work will cooperate, getting screwed again like my last world tour. Sucks. I'll try to keep my chin up.......I was really looking forward to meeting all the T2J's at the London show and having a few pints. :( Glad to hear your fingers are all better. You have to be careful dude!

big bad moon 1889: Looking forward to meeting you at the show! It's gunna be Really sick! lol!

mCruz: WOW! That's the BEST birthday anyone could ever have!! You are soooo lucky! What are the chances of that happening for anyone?! Glad you had a fantastic BDay!!

Keniko: I'm so glad you like my "Most Digging Big Bird" quote...lmao! Wish I was there to see it! I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 20, I know how your son feels. Hope he's feeling better! I'd love a care package, thanks! I was going to see Vai in London and visit with Suzie and hubby then head to Glasgow and Newcastle shows in Oct then head to Holland to visit my friend Maire. Looks like I have to change my plans. I don't think work will hire a temp so I can go on vacation.....still waiting for an answer. Wow Ken...thanks for telling me about Tinsley Ellis (funny name) I'm going to try and catch him. I have to be there!! That means I have 4 shows within 5 days (2 EJ on sat night)........whew! I can do it!! ****deep breath***** ;-))

Suzie2000: I hope your day was better today! Work has been a bitch for me lately too, not just with my "Tour" but everything else. I won't bore you. I'm looking forward to my 3 day weekend and the shows next week!

962: I know Simon, I thought of that but she caught me off guard and asked me if I booked anything and I stupidly said NO! I'll figure something out.......it just sucks always getting crapped on when I'm trying to tour! ;-))

SupaaDave: Congrats on the new job! Hope all's well with the family.

Master Yoda: Congrats on the new job!! Hope it brings you happiness and good things!

Alexandre: Hello! I hope you are fine Alex. I know you will be coming to Denver very soon! Have a nice visit (with JuJu right?) Take care and have a safe trip. Hugs and Kisses! ~~ Sea Eyes~~~

thought this one was worth sharing...

Geriatric humor

A distraught senior citizen phoned her doctor's office. "Is it true," she wanted to know, "that the medication you prescribed has to be taken for the rest of my life?" Yes, I'm afraid so," the doctor told her. There was a moment of silence before the senior lady replied, "I'm wondering, then, just how serious is my condition. This prescription is marked 'NO REFILLS'."

An older Jewish gentleman was on the operating table awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son, a renowned surgeon, perform the operation. As he was about to get the anesthesia he asked to speak to his son. "Yes, Dad, what is it?" "Don't be nervous, son; do your best and just remember, if it doesn't go well, if something happens to me ... your mother is going to come and live with you and your wife...."

Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra.

You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks

I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young.

Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Old age is when former classmates are so gray and wrinkled and bald, they don't recognize you.

If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything to laugh at when you are old.

First you forget names, then you forget faces. Then you forget to pull up your zipper. It's worse when you forget to pull it down.

Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft... Today, it's called golf.

Two women met for the first time since graduating from high school. One asked the other, "You were always so organized in school, Did you manage to live a well planned life? " " Yes," said her friend. "My first marriage was to a millionaire; my second marriage was to an actor; my third marriage was to a preacher; and now I'm married to an undertaker." Her friend asked, "What do those marriages have to do with a well planned life?" "One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go."

Happy Birthday Jon!!
