Michelle: it's okay thanks. Health sometimes is only 80%.
Austin: "full lips" very funny indeed.
Weekend was interesting. Lots of time travelling and performing, not much time sleeping. A couple of snappy moments too, very funny in hindsight. Highlight was the "Swaps Life For Death" metal impression I did, lowlight was the criticism for the "too loud drum kit" blah blah blah.
Another gig in 1.5 hours. Local one this time, phew.

HOWDY FOLKS! Please excuse my absence....I have been....I dunno actually, what have I been doing? Think I got lazy, and last night I went to see Blade Trinity. Which kinda blows. It tries so hard to be cool it's just awkward, tho there's a small handful of funny lines in it.
New music uploaded here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/5/simondaultreymusic.htm
It's a 2 parter, so check it Revolve (Parts I and II) if you have ten minutes spare.
Suzie, okay I dunno much about violin playing so I'll take you word for it (on Vanessa Mae). That said, she can play, and she's a big name - I think the virtuoso thing would only work if most of the people were big names!
OpticalStudio, hombre, you're very kind! Thank you so much for your continued encouragement, and thanks for getting a couple of your friends checkin out my tracks! I'm really pleased about all the positive feedback. Apart from anything else, I know how I want the tracks to sound when I do them propely, and if people are excited about them now, the tracks should come out really good for "the real thing"!
That'd be great if you can give the nod to Buzzy about my tracks....if you do, please give him my email address! (if you don't have it, it's as follows; airman_siro@yahoo.co.uk).
Thanks again bro! YOU ROCK!
update
Wow, I just read your recent post that you already passed on my tracks to Buzzy! Awesome dude, I'm stoked. That's and honour, for me, and especially for hearing that he liked them! Don't worry about the mail address - I'll mail him and say thanks. Also, thanks to your ex-girl for her feedback, it's all useful and encouraging!
For Red Square I used my RGT for all the main parts - that's the one with the PAF Pro and Fred pickups in it. Tho for the clean parts (intro and outro) I used my GIO, and that was just using it's Ibanez standard neck pickup! hehe, it sounds okay tho!
michelle/civgeek/anyone else, did you know that Fuck is actually FUCK? It's an acronym, and basically means the same as Rape. Forced Unlawful Carnal Knowledge or somethin like that, I can't quite remember.
OCPS470, wow, that's awesome news amigo! You're on the nail with that, there is a whole load of money to be made in the VideoGame industry. I reckon, given another 2 years, the VideoGame industry is going to make as much money from soundtracks as the movie industry does, and the costs will be about the same! Crazy!

Clarky, I take it your son is under 18 years old? if so, how did he come to have a copy of all 3 GTA's, cuz they're all 18 Certificates?!
I think that's where a large part of the problem is. The blame cannot be placed on the producers - the retailers and marketers are the ones responsible, and often the parents too (tho I'm not saying that's the case with your son!).
Everything these days is marketed at kids....kids are lead to believe they need to act like adults, cause it's a great money-maker, which is why we see 5-year-olds dressed like 25-year-old hookers. It's not cool.
jazzzzzy, hows things with you amigo? Congrats on the Grad School placement! What you going to study?
Suzie, oop, I missed your more recent post! Hi! hehe, i'm good thanks. hows you? Hows Operation Move House going?
Cuthbert, aah, "For" not "Forced"....I new I'd FUCK it up! hahaha. sorry, i'm surely the only one who found that funny?!
bros00, haha, another Dorseteer! I think that might even make 4 of us now! Welcome to t2j, by the way!

Well, Blow Me Down: Popeye Is Back
Since the late '80s, he's been virtually beached — no new cartoons have been made, and only sporadic reruns have aired, in syndication or on the Cartoon Network.
So the Christmas special "Popeye's Voyage: The Quest for Pappy" (8:30 p.m. EST Friday on Fox) marks a comeback for the pipe-chompin' sailor with seemingly steroid-infused forearms.
The show keeps much of the longtime traditions and cast of characters: ditsy but feisty Olive Oyl, precocious Swee'pea, big dumb Bluto, hamburger-hungry moocher Wimpy; that strange love triangle that's always resolved in Popeye's favor; and of course Popeye's fractured syntax, mangled words and single-minded taste for spinach.
But Popeye sails into the 21st century in a couple ways: The animation is a handsome, computer-generated 3-D, and the plot touches on issues of paternal abandonment and family reconciliation.
Co-written by Paul Reiser (from "Mad About You"), the story focuses on a trip Popeye takes to find his long-lost Pappy, who he believes left him without explanation as a child. Along the way, the Sea Hag (voiced by Academy Award winner Kathy Bates (news)) literally casts a dark cloud over his pursuit.
"The word `reinvent' scares people,' said Frank Caruso, the show's executive producer.
Instead, he thought of it as "re-establishing, reinvigorating" the franchise.
Popeye made his first appearance Jan. 17, 1929, in what was planned as a one-time cameo — in E.C. "Elzie" Segar's newspaper comic strip "Thimble Theater." The public loved him. And like Fonzie in "Happy Days" five decades later, he was such a hit that he was brought back and made a star character.
Animator Max Fleisher and brother Dave (of "Betty Boop" fame) started making animated shorts starring Popeye in 1933. After the Fleishers, Paramount's Famous Studios made the cartoons, which became a staple (along with the Three Stooges) in the 1950s and '60s on after-school kiddie shows such as "Sally Starr" in Philadelphia, "Major Mudd" in Boston and "Johnny Ginger" in Detroit.
Baby boomers who grew up with those shows should feel a heartwarming, nostalgic familiarity with the new program (already out on DVD). And for those who came of age in the '80s, Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO (who has written the score for many movies including Wes Anderson's "Rushmore") did the music.
But at 75, Popeye really is an old salt and may not appeal to kids who prefer a low-sodium TV diet.
At a recent screening at the Museum of Television & Radio, which has an exhibit marking Popeye's diamond anniversary running through Jan. 30, a little girl watched along with her mother, Caruso recalled. When there's the inevitable scene in which Popeye eats spinach and mops up the villain, mom immediately started humming the theme song.
"Ma, how'd you know that was going to happen?" the youngster asked.

This is just wrong . . . (as in bad, immoral, ect)
AP: Yushchenko Has Historic Dioxin Level
LONDON - New tests reveal the level of dioxin in the blood of Ukrainian presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko is more than 6,000 times higher than normal, according to the expert analyzing the samples.
The concentration, about 100,000 units per gram of blood fat, is the second highest ever recorded in human history, said Abraham Brouwer, professor of environmental toxicology at the Free University in Amsterdam, where blood samples taken last weekend in Vienna were sent for analysis.
A normal level of dioxin is between 15 and 45 units. Almost everyone has some level of dioxins because the toxic chemical is widespread in the environment — mainly from its industrial usages — and accumulates in the food chain.
In the case of Yushchenko, Brouwer's team has narrowed the search from more than 400 dioxins to about 29 and is confident they will identify the poison by week's end. That, in turn, could provide clues for the investigation of the alleged poisoning.
"From a (chemical) fingerprint, at least you can deduce what kind of sources might have been involved," Brouwer told The Associated Press. "The labs will ... try to find out whether it matches any of the batches of dioxins that are around, so that maybe you can trace it back to where it was ordered or where it came from."
Experts say Yushchenko, whose face has been pockmarked and disfigured, has probably experienced the worst effects already and should gradually recover, with no impairment to his working ability.
The reformist candidate, who faces Kremlin-backed Viktor Yanukovych in a repeat runoff on Dec. 26, first fell ill in September.

cuthbert - aahhh.... the common perseption outside of the US is that there are only 2 parties..... so it seems that there are more parties... and that is in reality a two horse race....
I guess that's similar here... maybe with the exception that some of the smaller paties are in with a chance of winning something even if it's not overall power...
personally, there is no party that 100% matches my own personal political leanings... however, the EDP and the UK Independant Party come closest.. the UKIP are a little less strong than the EDP in their views...
aahh.. "unreasonable ideological constraints" for the police... like not being allowed to clip a kid around the ear for getting up to no good.. like being accused of rasism every time they stop and search a black guy.. even if he was in fact loading a tv he only just burgled into a stolen car... the "liberal do-gooders" and the insane EU beurocrats have seriously diluted the power and effectiveness of the police on the grounds of human rights, political correctness and equality to the point where the criminals have so many rights that you'd almost think that the police could be found guilty of something for making an arrest... the EDP and UKIP want to break with the EU and rebuild the UK... make laws that are fair, stern and make sense and do away with this rediculous political correctness in favour of a basic set of principles that simply apply to people... not blacks, asians, whites, catholics, prod etc etc... just British people...
the EDP's point is that there is no longer any such thing as English or Beritish civil rights... it's now all dictated by the EU..
EDP and UKIP also want to fix the illegal immigration problem which is seriously out of hand right now...
personally I'd like to see UKIP and EDP unite... they have a lot of common ground and combined they'd be a more credible political threat....
finally, unlike some of the other far right parties, EDP and UKIP recognise that not all British are white Anglo-Saxon - which is more than ok by me
lol... I don't see myself as going against the grain... lol...
I'm English first and then British...
I care greatly about my Kingdom and my Country...
I want it to be a better place where the needs and comforts of the natives are put first...
Zen - this Japan gig is going to be a pain in the ass... and hard work....
funny really... cos I'm not looking forward to it at all...
mikesb - Viking Metal and Gore Metal sound like the most fun to me.....
so John Petrucci may argue that getting the dragon to kill itself was a clever ploy... "why do something yourself when you can have it done for you"... and the dragon kills itself... lol.. interesting that the princess escapes... I've personally never seen a chick at a DT gig unless it was the kids mommy.. lmao...
ouch.... I am so cruel... lmao..
do the stu - is that why there is a new chat room???.. cos the old one is shit???
Aria Tim - hi..

Cuthbert Very informative man (as usual), also brought a smile to my face as I'm only 20 miles from Ely and I've seen the wives !!!!! lol ;-)
Paul Rogers and Queen ? Hmmm, I'd heard that................. I love PR's voice, although he has lost something as he has got older but I'm not sure about doing Queen songs. FM's departure was probably the saddest of all rock losses for me, on a personal basis, I still well up if I watch him on TV now..................strange, how these things can effect you.......
