michelle: As trutina has stated, I will never watch that movie the same way again now!! LMAO....And JOE would need to have chromeboy strapped to his back so he could whip out "Satch Boogie" on a moments notice!!....lol....

Peter Mulas' new tune is wicked!!....Pure insanity on the guitar....He is a Monster....And hasn't reached 20 yet!!.... Watch out World....

Happy 500 matt king, you other Guitar Monster you ;-)....

quito: lol, those are strange....JOE would really look like "Borg Sex" with those on, lol ;-)....

SOTD: Escalator Music....by Paul Gilbert....He need's to be on a G3, and would have to come up with a couple new Instrumental's (aka John Petrucci), and I'm sure he could easily handle that!!....I'd like to see Paul turn everybody's head with a SERIOUS effort....And he could start off his set with "Let The Computer Decide"....lol, what about it JOE???? ;-)

TRUTINA: My fave Satch song and why? Well, for me it has to be Crying. Don't know why. Maybe I'm just an old fashioned sentimental guy and it reminds me of a woman I once loved. What about you? What's your fave and why?

Spent all last night playing and I just amazed myself. Can't wait to get some tunes up on thew web. Whats the best way to do this?

Greg, dude, this kiddy sounds like a total f*ck-head!

There may be an easy solution to the problem tho - show him the TAB and standard to Mr Vai's 'Juice'. I started on it last night, and got SO stuck, SO early! hehe. it's bloody ridiculous - there's all these funny things going on between important notes, and at 200 BPM it's pretty hard to fit them in.

Did you say he wants to make a nylon-string electric, or did you make a mistake? hehe, the latter I hope, otherwise he's got some learning to do!

Yeah, I hate how people who don't play say 'oh, playing guitar is a piece of p*ss, its so easy'. Little do they know!

So the Music Man JPM is better than the Luke model? in what way? i prefer Lukather's sound, but he's so different it's probably not fair to judge between them.

Petrucci is awesome, but i'd rather see Gilbert on the next G3 as well!

mick87 Happy 200

962 No, I said he's trying to make an electric, but intends to start on a nylon string because someone has given him a load of bull that they're easier to play, and won't listen to my advice. Anyway, he wouldn't know who satch was, although I beliece I've put Fire Garden on his laptop, but if I put on anything instrumental, he would say, "hey this is crap!" Anyway, I wonder if he can read proper guitar music, if no, he should have some real fun with his classical-used-as-a-steel-string!

phrydom You know only a few people in the world can properly understand Wiles' proof of Fermat?

yeah greg that's hardly surprising too! LOL. It's over 100 pages and he "invented" new methods during his seven years' work. I believe the Taniyama-Shimura conjecture was a major turning point, using something seemingly totally unrelated to help him. When he linked the two apparently all kinds of new mathematical doors opened.

Anyway, enough of that - it's Saturday! I heard some AudioSlave on TV this morning... sounds pretty good.... might have to do a bit of the old "Add To Basket" heh heh ;-)

Bil and Alain I've finally got your packages together and will mail them out on Monday. Mr Nick I've hooked up the 2 VCRs, got the tape, and today I'll go and buy a blank tape. I still haven't found the CD that goes with the second book, but I'll keep looking! Expect some post some time next week, and thanks for your patience!

Later, Dave

PhyrDom - Beatles?? Not sure about that one, then again I never listen to them much... If the third is omitted, would that make it the first inversion?

quito There have been some big fights in T2J over the past couple of weeks, involving avarice and all sorts of other things, and its probably best if you try not to get involved.

matt Happpy 500!

phrydom Yeah, he was able to rearrange an eliptical equation to be fermat's last theorem without the "no solutions" bit, but the equation was so wierd that it couldn't possibly have a modular form. Therefore, if he could prove Tanyama Shimura, saying that every eliptical equation has a modular form, it would mean that there were no solutions to the re-arranged fermat eliptical equation, and so to Fermat's last theorem. I've got some more news for you - Simon Singh is bringing out a new book next year.

If you really don't know, a mega parsec is a distance. If you looked at a star, and then waited until the Earth had gon 1/2 way round its orbit, and looked at the star again, and its angle to the earth had changed by 1 second of arc (1/3600 of a degree), that would mean you were 1 parsec away from the star.
