Things in Common Between Disney World and the Playboy Mansion

5> The price of admission to either one? Your soul.

4> If you ride the attractions, chances are you'll bring home a souvenir.

3> Janitorial crews ready to spring into action should fluid spill on the ground.

2> Many a child has grabbed Mickey's ears. Many a former child star has grabbed Miss September's ears.

and the Number 1 Thing in Common Between Disney World and the Playboy Mansion...

1> Those giants cups can make you dizzy!

What about at a concert - if the performer wears his/her pants low?

Are the cops going to bust in, take him/her down, and arrest them?

Who is the "hard" ass now?

American tosses pillows off most domestic flights

USA TODAY Flying is about to get a bit harder. Literally. Estimated savings: $375,000 a year.

The world's largest airline, American said Tuesday that pillows will be removed from first-class and coach cabins on all domestic flights except transcontinental trips and flights to Hawaii starting Feb. 15. Pillows will disappear from all Boeing 737s and 757s and Airbus A300s, spokesman Tim Wagner says.

International flights will not be affected.

Plum Loco, holy crap glad to hear you, your lunch and Joe's CD's are all unscathed!! Is the truck a write-off? Where abouts was your incident (for those of us who cruise up to Collingwood etc using back roads)?

Good luck with the insurance boys....

slanshroom: I'm sorry to hear about that man, it really sucks. Its definitely an issue that gets several of us down, but just gotta live with it and pay homage. Where do you work? Was definitely happy to see you back here. Any new music to be recorded by you? I really am enjoying the ones I downloaded. I think you'd make it perfect on a G3. Do you have the lyrics for Lord Gresham? take care bro.

cuthbert: I always thought Doobie Brothers were 2 joints rolled from the same plant.

DCK: zenfish i am not even sure i know what you mean?

i laughed at that comment. take care.

Stevee T, I am just a freak, that "Bach" CD is just one of thousands, mostly guitar oriented that I own... To each his own vice.....

By the way, did you check the "Motorsport" link on Victor's site? He enjoys speed.....

First thing on my mind this morning as I woke up: Harmonics

As I described about 14 hours ago there are several ways to obtain harmonics on Guitar. I left this one out in the description:

Reverse Hammer: Using your chord hand you hammer, pull off, or both as your Pic hand lightly deadens the appropriate string and at the same time is moving transversly (parallel) from about pick-up 1 to neck and back. This causes artificial harmonics that ring out in sequence with the hammer action, and since each hammer position is different it sounds like a wooden xylaphone or that a special effect is being used. If you have ever taken wooden ruler and allowed to bounce on the edge of your desk at school, then this effect is not unknown to you. It is essentially the same thing only applied to a string. As the transverse waves propagate along the string you are also creating a new node, by virtue of the deadened point, and the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 12th 13th, etc.harmonics ring out in succession.

First time I ever heard this was at a Van Halen concert in Denver when I thought I was witnessing the Devil himself before me on stage. EVH was so pure at pouring his soul into the guitar I thought he was not of this earth. I was actually frightened as I let my imagination run all over itself. Years later I finally was able to achieve this wicked but brilliant effect. JS does this thing on Hordes of Locust.

Of course JS takes this effect a step further on Mystical Potato Head, not that he is playing the harmonics but the fingering and hammering technique while deadening the back strings with his Pic hand is also as impressive.

Until next time...on Outer Limits...Dih...duh...dahhhh
