Blue_Moon - I don't mean to sound selfish, but really...this European tour isn't much more than the US Road Test tour was. It sounds like the band intends to return later for a proper European tour, so I think if it's a serious injury it'd be smart to cut their losses and cancel the last two shows...that'd give Chad a full month off, which is better than the alternative of two more gigs, then surgery and six to nine months off. Just sayin'...

Satriella / anibur - That address looks legit to me. I've Googled it and I get a lot of "Bill Graham Presents"-related things, which is a good sign...although I don't see anything newer than 2006.

I know Live Nation has bought up a lot of venues/promoters/management companies in recent years, so I don't know if it's still a current address.

I found the old FAQ page I was thinking of (from 2000); it has a Santa Rosa address listed. I'd go with the SF one, though...maybe the webmaster can chime in with an answer?

...Austin...

I am guessing that Sir Joseph is not too pleased to have to cancel shows because of basically "band shenanigans". That is obviously a first ever for Joe...... Well that in addition to trying to keep Chad's pants up and his sox on his feet.....

I'm with you Austin...we want that big US tour to happen. We want Chad to be well...no more injuries. And I'm sad fer the fans over there, just hoping I'm not gonna be one of the sad ones over HERE too! Mc can feck off!! >:(

Sorry to hear they've had to cancel more shows, people who had tickets must be very disappointed but it sounds like an injury that is going to have to be given time to heal, and as Austin says with a US tour coming up it may be that they keep to a minimum in Europe or else the US shows could be in danger of being cancelled too.

Well, Joe's really in a band now! He now needs 4 people to be fit to play.

Austin - gee Berkley sounds great, can you shout me the airfare and tell my boss I need 2 weeks off? :0)

Ole Cappy has a belly full of beer so it must be time for a few musings!

Monterrey Trace - The "Conch's clique" comment was a tongue in cheek gag on several levels. It's good to see you in good spirits and having fun. At least I hope you are and not just pretending, i'm sure you know what I mean. As ever you have my best wishes.

Do The Burgers - You may see the European tour as being not much more than the "road test" but a lot of us 'Europeans' already feel a little short changed at the lack of gigs. Having said that, although the album is a reasonably good effort, I feel slightly short changed because I feel that collectively CF could be absolutely awesome. To enable that though I think the dynamic will need to change.

Chadders - The world of music needs a new supergroup, in my opinion the rock scene has become a little stale and if the others let Joe drive the band forward we may be about to get something very special.

Everyone else - Have a nice night, i'm feeling rather beery!

lol what... they had the road test tour, hence the word test, the euro and us tour dates are the tour im sure theres some people in those different countries and neighbouring countries a bit pissed, there's some big fans there too im sure :( ...they found out so late about the cancelation so any plans would have been f'd! ...their tour's pretty much over at the start of October they won't be back till next year at least

doesnt really bother me in the slightest but sucks balls for the show missers! a shows a show after all

mikesb - Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems like an injury that could have happened to any drummer at any time...I don't think it's related to Chad cutting himself on the drums in London, him throwing his floor tom at Sammy, or any of his other crazy antics. I think this could have just as easily happened to Jeff on a Satch solo tour.

Cappy Steve - My comment was based on Joe saying he wants to go back to Europe to do a proper tour after the US leg. I'm thinking well beyond the show I'm seeing in September. Cancelling two festival gigs to allow proper healing time would mean those cities, and others in Europe, might get full shows during the next (longer) tour.

If they play the next two gigs and Chad gets REALLY hurt, that means no more Chickenfoot anywhere for at least the rest of the year. And that could mean he'll start writing RHCP stuff while he's recovering, which means we all have to go even longer without live Chickenfoot.

I don't know the specifics of Chad's injury and I'm not a doctor, so maybe I'm being too cautious. I don't know...short festival shows are easier to play than full headlining sets, so maybe Chad will be fine.

Blue_Moon - Thanks for sharing...I like that Buckethead song a lot. Not that it matters, but I notice it has two titles (the picture says Homing Beacon but the file says Landing Beacon).
Well, I'm off to the gym in a bit. Despite all the alcohol I drank and chips and other snacks I ate on the 4th, I managed to lose 3.5 pounds between my trips to the gym Thursday and Sunday. I wonder how much of it I've gained back since yesterday, somehow...

Cappy, we kept family & friends away over the weekend cuz that would be close contact. The party is always here. My son still had a fever on Saturday also. That said, my hubs and I still have to go to work. I'm not about huggin' up on anyone at work, so they'd have less chance of getting any on 'em. Family however, is all about hugs. My mom is 75, and my pop is still recovering/fighting the cancer thing. No way do I want to get them sick or have them in my germ infested house. The peeps at work...pfft! lol! Seriously though, I wouldn't wish that flu on anyone.

Austin (Do The Burgers - lmao!), thanks for the congrats. They spent a lot of weekends writing and recording this cd. All originals too. We're proud of the boys. They have a bunch of gigs planned for the summer between here and Philly. They grow up so fast. lol!

Al, I sent that spider over because you called us douches, so there!

Beautiful moon out tonight :-)

What's up Joe! I hope you do a solo album again. I do love Chickenfoot but those of us that have followed you since 1985 crave for your solo albums and intricate studio work. I would also love to have all of the extra tracks you have done like with the Nascar total team control soundtrack and the mini-colossal song and all of the other stuff you did with other artists such as Jordan Rudess, John 5, Yardbirds, Particle, etc. Will we ever get any of this stuff? I have most of it but it took a lot of research and time to get it. Die hard Joe fans deserve everything there is of Joe Satriani. It would also be cool if you did a remake of Talk to me. I remember you did an interview and said that you were going through a lot of demos and ZZ came in and said that he liked a song which turned out to be Come on Baby. Where are all of those demos? I would love to even hear outtakes that you have done. Just a thought!! See ya!

Let's see if this will work.

Pics from my recent trip to Los Filtros in southern Chihuahua, Mexico. Don't mind the spanish subtitles.

Notice though that my car is right next to the lagoon, this is because my car was my tent. I am not a nature person, let's put it that way, so there is no way anyone will convince me to sleep in a tent.

Blue Moon - isn't that just the most beautiful song ever in the history of guitar? I stumbled upon it this morning and haven't stopped listening to it yet. Buckethead is a REAL class act to be sure.

Anyone who has not yet heard Buckethead's tribute to Michael Jackson... what are you waiting for?! On the page there it is called The Homing Beacon but after you download it it's called The Landing Beacon... weird.

I listened to it all night while driving, it is just so hauntingly beautiful. For The Love Of God used to be my #1 favorite instrumental guitar track but it has officially been de-throned. Buckethead is SO the man.

Do The Burgers - Austin, I do understand that Chad has hurt himself (that's rock and roll) and needs to ensure he's OK before continuing. My post was intended to show I empathise with the disappointment and frustration of those who are missing out this time round. On a personal level I am used to missing out on quite a lot of things due to the nature of my employment although I occasionally dig up a little nugget so to speak, such as being in Sydney and being able to score a ticket for the Fleetwood Mac gig at the Sydney Showground on the 'Tusk' tour.

Conch and Monterrey Trace - The big ass thang has me chuckling, a few days back I referred to my wife's as being a value for money ass. When she said 'are you trying to say I have a big bum' I said 'well I suppose you could say it is family sized'. LOL

Blue Moon - now THATs a beautiful song, thnx for the link that Buckethead guy has a soul which is tangible in that piece. I sent it to my bro-in-law who plays flamenco.

elpp - lovely pics of your holiday I'd love to go to Mexico one day...

scuby - congrats on the 1000 and on the new job!!!!

Yesterday I was playing "Stand By Me" to a backing track and Mr Skippy walked in and said "Is that Stand By Me?" yyiippeeeeee yes I can play something yayyyyyy!!!! Also got going on a groovy Minuet thing, I tell you this old Danny Poole Beginner's Guitar CD-ROM is really good - he plays A with a different fingering to what I learn in the Dummies Guide and it's easier to switch chords the way he does it cos your 1st finger pivots and slides quicker.

Only ten years to Ten Words.....

Joe - how ya going buddy - don't let the Chad thing get you down, hope you're relaxing with the family and seeing the sights in Europe before Bospop.
