Hey Pitch. I differ from you in that I actually prefer similar sounding/influenced European stuff to the American counterpart! I generally find the musicianship and vocals a notch up. Lately it seems to be Italian product I enjoy the most!! Like you I loved Loudness, they have recently taken on a grungier sound so now I like Concerto Moon from Japan. Also, like you all the early Savatage was phenomenal!
I prefer TNT "Knight's" to Intuition primarily coz of the solos. Don't really care for the vocals on either. If you liked TNT and Shotgun Messiah (Harry Cody was agreat guitarist) then you would probably also like Bulletboys and Mick Sweda.
I like pretty much everything Roy Z. is involved with. He likes to "heavify" the classic rock sound (solo Dickinson etc). I like Voodoo Hill, Glenn Hughes and Dario Mollo. I like Pain of Salvation, DGM, some Gathering, Hollow. I like Artension and everything else John West has sung on (Royal Hunt etc). I like prog stuff too but more obscure like Magellan, Spock's Beard and Mastermind.
Right now I like the Leafs!! Go Leafs Go, trash those Flyers!!!

novjul: Tickets went on sale yesterday morning, I am seeing Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, and Satch at the Art Center in NJ. It's going to be awesome!
Do The Stu: Thanks for the info about the concert, I think Satch will be asked up on stage a lot by Deep Purple, that's what it say on this web site at the bottom of the page after all of the G3 in Europe dates.

s1220....I'm certainly not an expert when it comes to guitar maintenance, but if you have no prior experience with truss rods, I would'nt mess with it.
And while we're on the subject of guitar repair etc....I need to replace my tone "pot" on my Fender Telecaster (it's stripped)...I was thinking of using one from my destroyed Epiphone Les Paul but I think its different in terms of OHM's or current resistance. Does anyone know offhand without me having to surf to find out?

I finally got to hear your new CD ITLIS. Another incredible offering to your fans. I really had no idea what to expect when i first dropped it in the drive but it became clear after the first go around that this was something special. Track 6 "If I could Fly" is in my opinion a grammy nominee waiting to be nominated. #4 "Lifestyle" is a pleasant change of pace and the vocals well suited to the song. The title song is vintage Satch.
On virtually every CD I buy (yours included) there are always tunes that one could take or leave. Not poor stuff, just not as compelling to listen to as the favourites. On this one, however, there is not one tune that I did not get that "Satch feeling" from. EVERY tune made me want to hit the replay button. I may or may not be a typical Satriani fan but if I am typical, you have struck a complete winner with this release. It is your best stuff yet! That says alot considering how much I enjoy ALL the earlier stuff.
You should be damn proud of what you accomplished on this CD. A "mid career" milestone.
All we can do as loyal fans is to do our job. That is to listen and enjoy your work and encourage more production.
And PLEASE remember to include much of your new stuff on ANY tour you decide on including G3.
You NEED to come to Toronto again!!

How do people usually go about getting backstage passes for a G3 or any othe Satch related concert?
Its just puzzling me somewhat.

Does anyone know who will be in Joe's band when he is touring around with Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy? If anyone knows, please tell me. Also, I think someone else asked, but, how do you get VIP tickets, you probably gotta know people, right?

Hello everyone, I'm in the process of studying harmony, and I would like to find some books refering to it, and am looking more specifically for ones creating a link between practice and theory. I've found many writings about improvisation, scales, but I would like to know more about chords progression, the way to build them, and also about cadences. If you could be kind enough as to refer me to
some titles, it would really help me. In advance, thank you.

962 - Okay...I understand where you're coming from concerning smoking, and I actually feel pretty much the same way. Maybe that wasn't the best example (Although, still... Is she less human because she chose to smoke?)... I'll stick with the same example but use a different person this time. What about a victim of a car accident who has to breathe with a respirator? What about an elderly asthmatic who can't breathe without an oxygen tank? Are these people not human or not alive because they can't breathe on their own?
"What i'm getting at here I suppose is that a Foetus...has no choice as to whether or not it survives."
Hmmm? The only way I could see that argument working is if there are fetuses who would rather die or not experience life at all instead of being able to live. That's a tough argument to make.
"What if someone has a miscarriage? Are they just as bad as someone who has an abortion?"
Of course not! People don't choose to have miscarriages.
novjul - "why would you automatically skip a paragraph written in a foreign language? don't be a xenophobe, man!"
No, no, no...it's not that at all! I hope other people didn't take it that way...
There are a few people here who talk to each other in foreign languages every now and then. ovation1 will talk in Japanese with people sometimes, and UF Dean (I think it's him...) will talk in foreign langauges (Spanish and Portuguese, I think), too.
That's what I was getting at...the situations where people are just talking in foreign languages here for practice.
Museman - I'm pretty sure Slash lives here in Los Angeles.
SupaaDave - Yeah...LOL. I found it really funny when Powerslave214 mentioned that size spider, so I just had to go with it. Haha... I like softball-sized better than my example, though...way to go! ;-)
Orion1985 / excalibur3500 / Museman - Yes, it was Ned Evett.
DelfinoPie - Add yourself to the attendance list on the road page for your gig. If you win backstage passes, you'll get an email with everything you need to know.
Guitarmeister - Joe will be playing with his usual lineup (Matt, Jeff, and Galen) on the Deep Purple tour.
...Austin...

Do the stu, yeah just wishful thinking on my part really, although he has been back in the UK a bit with velvet revolver. In fact, a British guitar magazine ran a '100 greatest British guitarists' feature a few years ago now, and they forgot Slash would you believe, I guess it's cos people often easily forget where he actually came from. Suffice to say they gave a rather sheepish apology in the next issue, and they admitted that it was a big mistake and they had simply forgotten about the great man!

hey joe, the new album is right-on, like the new sound n the new site! Got my ticket for G3 (Manchester Apollo) which is going to be one of the high-points of my life! You n Stevie V are gonna rip the place up! All my mates say my guitar style is a lot like yours (I'm nowhere near as fast as u but hey that comes with time) You gotta play Rubina when u kick Manchester's ass (although its not a heavy one) its by far my favourite tune of yours next to Raspberry Jam D-V
In closing I'd like to say U R A GOD! Rock on!

...come_on_everybody? Delfino Pie put this on the site about three pages ago: I'm going to put this down to a public vote... All those in favour of me shaving my head say "Mighty Turtle Head"
...okay, perhaps nobody just doesn't want to vote for that, but I'd say: Absolutely yes! Go for that shiny "Mighty Turtle Head".
...why? Well, at first it's good for your scalp to let it breath for a while(just don't let it burn on the sun), and then again it's nothing irrevocable (like getting a tattoo...or since that and pearcing are not startling enough these days getting a fingertip amputated, which is not only startling but sick and a bit more than stupid). It's nice to see how it (your hair) grows back, 'cause you know, there may come the day when it doesn't ;-) ...not that it would bother me. I mean we (my family) don't lose hair, but if we (= me) would, I'd go for the shiny mighty instead of trying to desperately hide the bold parts with few downs ...what do you people say?
I'm listening "Going Down" from G3-LIC -> just brilliant soloing... Quote of the spring: Oh man you can't believe what's coming now ...the way Joe says it! I'm waiting to hear that in Helsinki Icehall in a month and a half...I can't stay in my pants...better go take 'em of...goodnight everybody...

do da stu my hand feels really tired so i apologise up front for spelling mistakes, no capital letters...so on and so forth as i am typing one handed. thankyou for telling me about show attendance i hope i get to meet Joe as he is ny idol, Vai seems like a really cool guy...and Fripp...Fripp equally amazing from is King Crimson days.
Noppa lol you're right polling about shaving my head doesn't seem to have a wide audience...but thankyou for your reply. I'm only 17 so I amfortunate enough not to suffer from baldness...although it is in the family so atleast u have it to look forward to :-p
Michelle (and the spiders whom haunt her) I'm so tweaked about spiders before I use a towel I spend like 2 minutes shaking the heck out of it just to make sure there's nothing in there.
