But how would Joe get a nice shiny chromed acoustic guitar? lol
the prez Funny photo ha ha. Steve's hair is thinning a bit these days, don't you think?
clarky Fripp is truly one of a kind, and sooooo good! Discipline has been growing on me, soon I may like that version of the crim even more than the itcotck - red version! When'd David's album coming out, do you know?

Stu M, there are shiny chromed acoustic guitars available, like the National ones... In fact, they're made of metal.

Or at least, they have metal "resonator" discs in them. Damn, one more comeback I can't use on all the people popping up saying "do an acousitc cd joe". He'll do one if he wants one.

Ethn - haha... I know the fealing... I'm putting a band together myself... finding the right people is not easy....
so if I was in your band I hope you wouldn't give me any hard chords to play....lol
ovation - so as I'm all pleased with myself for coming up with a great mix of the Raft.. I gave me a night off... lol.. today I took Wrath to a Luthier to fit the Lo Pro Edge... It should be done by the time I need it...
the next job is to hit the lab and record the backing track for the Raft [as I may need to gig this stuff without a band and it also makes for a good practice aid too]... then I have to back-up the track's 'song data' which takes 6 CD's as it's 3.7Gbytes big [and will take ages... yawn]..
When all this is done I can hit the lab some more and start recording the backing track to Requiem.. I should have Wrath back by the time I'll be cutting the solos...
I'm really looking forward to this one as it'll be a nice contrast to all the blood and thunder from the Raft.. I'm actually thinking of rewriting it a little...

Jake_49ers: Satriani Science is a neat little site!!....Thank's for posting it....
Sharif: Thank's for the review, and hope the migranes leave ya alone.... :-)
Clarky: ...."but the day job puts food on the table"....I hear ya bro, lol, no contest there like you said....I need to research Fripp alot more, cause I've heard so many good things about him....He may not be a shredder, but his technique and sound making abilities are amazing....BTW, I was thinking you'll have to name that lab of yours, lol, remember the Bat cave?!?! Your a mild mannered Computer Tech by day, and by night, un-beknown'st (lol, is that a word??) to anyone, you hide away in your lab and create those Shred Symphonies, lol.... Great to hear The Raft is completed, AND you like it, that is great news, and I cant imagine rewriting The Requiem, lol....
It's also great to see you make progress, but are not rushing through the mixing....Each day is another hurdle completed....
Gambate!!....lol....
michelle: Sound's like your friend wrote that with too much sake!!....hehe, and maybe you outta post a hard hat sign at your front door to warn guest's of the body slamming felines, lol, LMAO!!....BTW, Lars upgraded his kit ;-)....
962: You can never go wrong spending quid on great guitar music, lol, enjoy your Gilberto purchase!!....
fused9: lol, that floor tom would be the Lars US Steel Trash Floor Tom....Specially made to the proper height for Lars.... 6 inches, hehe ;-)
mick87: lol, always a pleasure to unleash some good-ole glock and cowbell FURY!!...."Boom chicka bamm ding ding ting ding, blamo to the elle zee kaboom! scratchety scratchety..... kayak!"....ROTFLMAO!!....
PhryDom: "if anyone put Yngwie's ass into a meat mincing thing then they could say they shredded his ass, I guess. but guitarwise, who the chuff cares? "shred his ass?" why not lose the attitude and focus on something more productive? Whether G3 is competitive or not, it's just guitarists doing gigs for guitarists (and wages lol).... see it for what it is (IMHO)" Amen brother D/\\/E....
StuM: Happy Niner bro!!....Thank's for posting that article!!
I found this great reading: (Robert Fripp on JOE)
"Joe Satriani is a superb guitarist, far better than anyone who's seen him live can possibly know, because the history of the electric guitar lies in Joe's hands. Although when he's Joe Satriani he's not there to give you a history lesson, he's there to be Joe. Joe has far wider capabilities than the performer Joe Satriani carries with him on stage. I'd love to do some more work with Joe. He is a friend, and in the future maybe I will."

Stu M: thanks for the link to the fripp interview...the fripp head is kinda creepy though..it follows you down the page.
Anyone: I heard something on ibanez.com (i think it was an interview with joe) that Joe was making some songs for playstation 2. does anyone know when the games are coming out, which games, or if the plan is was scrapped. i think it would be pretty cool to have satch playing some tunes for a game.

But, anyways i was wanting to know what you did as a kid learning before you taught Steve Vai in guitar excerises and stuff to become how you are today?! i would really like to know and one of these years i want to be on stage with you playing some of your songs.

At last a computer. Haven't been able to post in a while, as usual with me! Will see all you Toronto fans tomorrow. I'll be gazing at the top of your heads from the balcony =/ (that is the last time I wait for a friend to make up their mind before I buy tickets for a show!). I'll be the short chick who has half her height in brown hair if anyone wants to say hi :)

johnny aimless - I'm sure that could happen at any time. I doubt Sony or Joe had any specific games in mind when the idea first came up. We'll just have to wait and see.

quick poll... what's the weirdest (as in, most strange, not funny-weird) rehearsal you've ever been to? i just got back from a weird one... kinda cool... it was all dudes in their 50s who needed a bassist for standards and stuff.

well, I know I've made a few comments about yngwie and vai and all...but, never have I ever considered the tour as a competition....
No, I do not care for yngwie...granted, he is probably the best at what he does, just ain't my thing...Vai is extremely talented and I like some of his music...some of it, I find extremely weird......and to me, Joe is just the best all around guitarist, muscian I have ever heard...I don't think there is anything he can't do on the guitar..
As virtuosos....the three of them are among the best if not the best...
