hoiguy...The music has been sent and should be arriving in your mailbox soon. To send it I had to use my alternate G-mail account. Just thought I'd let you know...Enjoy the music!
And flashlight...people only usually chat when Satch is in the chat room...The forum serves its purpose otherwise...But many people are asleep...Where I am, its 2:05 am...

To tell you the truth flash, it all depends on what you like. I've found that many amplifiers make good recordings depending on the type of sound you want...It's the recording equipment that is the most difficult to use...
What do you want to use?
Hoiguy, did you get the music?
There will be an announcement dumbass...duhhhhh.

KD6AA5 - I'm not a religious man but you and your''s are in my thoughts. Take care.
Snow White Any help you can give to the people on T2J I or II would be awesome. There are some great players on this site.
Cheese What can I say? I'm a slacker. I have been really busy with school and I did get a new guitar that I wasn't expecting. That made a little dent in the checkbook. We do ok, but there is some planning that needs to happen. I promise that as soon as I get my ticket I'll post. However. I have seen Joe a few times, but have never seen Vai. I may get that first. I'll keep you in the loop. !@:!(pm time to get some rest. Rehearsal tomorrow. Late peeps.

AMY LEE, I liked reading your post- really from the heart! I wanted to ask you actually, which female singers (if any) inspired you with your singing? My favourites have to be Sandy Denny and Joni Mitchell- I used to sing in folk clubs, and now my husband and I perform as a duo doing mainly Renaissance / Medieval Voice and Guitar music and the audiences are not huge, not too many people out there choose to listen to that style of music! But we like it though!
MICHELLE- LOL! Binge posting here I come!
STEVEN- Feeling any better today?

sorry flash...had some business to take care of elsewhere on the net...Anyway, what would be good is a marshall amplifier. They have built in distortion of all kinds and a REALLY smooth tone. You can get a sizeable stack and it would last you, literally, forever....
hoiguy...I sent it to your other account. It says on my side that it was sent...

flash...ultimately it really depends on the sound/player you are. i used to have a marshall 6100 30th anniversary that i actually ended up selling cause it just wasn't doing what i wanted. i now acutally use a tiny marshall mg15dfx....a tiny practice amp that i stick a shure sm57 in front of and i have absolutely no complaints at all...in fact, i think this thing cranks out some of the best tone ever...all a matter of opinion though.

Matt, I absolutely agree. Many of the smaller amplifiers of any kind tend to be better ones. I use a Peavey Rage 158, a tiny 15 watt amp. It puts out quite a bit when I plug the good old Les Paul into it, and its sound...quite amazing. And Matt, the shure microphone has got to make a difference too...lol!

chase...absolutely the shure SM57 makes a difference...as does the positioning of the mic. i'm pretty cut and dry though...i keep the EQ pretty flat on the amp...and the mic pretty close, straight on to the tiny speaker. i do a lot of eq'ing after the fact though...i record everything dry as well. no effects...

No man,, i want to have a amplifier with a head and slant... I think Peavey is better, cause Satch uses Peavey.. Right?
I also used Line6 to input my guitar to the computer, of course from the effect first... How was it??

flah, i disagree...and i think joe made a poor choice with peavey...too tinny of a sound for my taste. if you want pure tube sound, go with bogner...but be prepared to pay and arm and a leg for it....
also...combos and smaller type amps are always better in most cases for a recorded sound...no need to have the power of a full tube amp unless you're really going for that tube warmth...these days technology makes it pretty hard to tell the difference though...

Yes, but my amplifier was given to me. I was just starting out with the guitar and a buddy at my school gave it to me. I liked it so much I've never seen the need to get a new one. Plus the distortion on it is one which I have never found anywhere else and I like it alot. Plus, I'm not all for spending alot of money and stuff...I'm cheap and search for the bargain stuff...But I will consider what you've said. I always take good advice.
