Slash Rose - I see you're from Guanajuato. My sisiter went down last year and did two terms at the university. It was amazing to hear her almost non-existent Spanish blossom into an easily formulated conversation. She said the city was great with the exception of the altittude sickness. I was just down in Oaxaca. Can't wait to go back. I really want to work with kids more and help with education so that the children can be better off than the parents. Isn't that what every parent wants?

Do the Stu - People that I know at school are into Sim City. I hang with transportation and planning people. I myself have never really got into it. I do play around with the other software called VISSIM. It is a modeling program for trans and planning. It's fun especially since I didn't have to pay the 20 grand for it.

Arafat - It's not surprising that there are many different sides to the feelings on Arafat's life. Was he a hero? To some Was a terrorist? To others. It all comes down to were your perspective. It also comes down to the fact that of all the people in the wolrd the ones that teach tolerence (insert religion here) seem to be the ones that are the most intolerent. The circle of intolerence between the Muslims, Jews and Christians. Many of the problems in the middle east could be solved if there wasn't this underlying hatred for someone else only on the basis of religion. It is truley stupid.

Steve T, Travis - This is one of the things that has always made me wonder. People are always saying things about that sweet Marshall tone that Joe used to have, but didn't he use the Boss distortion and the amp for power only. I may be wrong, so someone clear this up for me. I personally would love to get an H&K, but for now I have an old MP-1 that works pretty well. It ,as many solid state products, lacks a bit of the tube warmth. It works out well though because my other guitarist has a Marshall and you can easily hear the difference in the two guitars. I think it helps the songs fill out a bit with different tones.

BUT! i must say, wen i 1st bought 'Strange Beautiful Music,' i didnt like it as much as Crystal Planet, but recently i picked it up off the shelf...gave it a little dust off...and re-listened 2 it...and its amaaazzinngg, and in my opinion his best album, if u havent got it, go buy it! NOW!

New Who Album May Appear Next Spring

TORONTO (Billboard) - The Who's first studio album since 1982 may finally see the light of day next spring.

According to guitarist Pete Townshend (news)'s official Web site (http://www.petetownshend.co.uk), the set carries the provisional title "WHO2," perhaps a reference to the fact that he and vocalist Roger Daltrey (news) are the lone surviving original members of the legendary rock act.

"Roger and I (will) meet in mid-December to play what we have written," Townshend said on the site. "If we move ahead from there, we may have a CD ready to release in the spring. If the recording works out, we will tour with the usual band in the first half of 2005."

Townshend and Daltrey have been working in earnest on new material since 2002. In March, the pair released their first new songs in more than 20 years, "Real Good Looking Boy" and "Old Red Wine," on the Geffen compilation "Then and Now."

Townshend is at work on a variety of other projects, including an animated feature based on his short story "The Boy Who Heard Music." He has also begun writing his autobiography, which he intended to pen in chronological order but reconceived in the wake of his 2003 arrest on child pornography charges.

"My autobiography now offers me the chance to lay down my life story and place recent events in proper context," Townshend said. "I have had a long and lumbering life -- this book will take time."

Two theatrical concepts are also in the works, one involving British and North American theatrical productions of the rock opera "Quadrophenia" and the other regarding a "new musical spectacular for Las Vegas" with veteran Broadway director Des McAnuff.

Clarky - A while back you were talking someone about influences and how you haven't played along with Vai/Satch/Malmsteen in years in order to hone your unique voice on the instrument. Well, I'm totally with you!!! In fact, the only one of those three that I've evn listened to in the past few months is Malmsteen; recently I've been listening to and playing (or rather trying to play...) loads of jazz. Pat Metheny, John Scofield, George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Larry Carlton, Mike Stern, and (slightly less jazz) Robben Ford. Even some non-guitar music like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Dave Weckl Band, etc. As a result, my playing has taken a drastic detour - particularly in the area of phrasing. It's funny cause I never thought I'd get into jazz in such a big way, but I'm fucking loving it at the moment. So much so, in fact, that I want my next guitar to either be a really nice Strat or an Archtop... lol

LOL... Well, I just bought Halo 1...I'm nowhere near done with the single player game, and I still have fun playing the multiplayer version of it. I don't need to buy another game yet.

I'm actually not WAY into computer games. There are a few old games (Civilization II, for example) that I could play forever...I don't need to buy new ones. I'll probably get a lot of crap for saying that, but oh well. ;-) I'd rather spend my money on CDs or DVDs, I guess.

I saw Pay It Forward a few years ago in my 12th grade Government / Economics class. Our teacher let us watch that, and we had a discussion about it instead of taking a final. I agree with you...it's a great movie.

Terrorists are often taking the easy way out, though. Why don't they get together in a big group, walk up to the leader they don't agree with, and just complain? They'd probably be killed, but that's no different than what happens to them after a suicide bombing.

Why do they take out innocent people? They are cowards...they're scared to confront the source of their problems, so instead they pick on people who can't defend themselves.
