dammissdam - that is not what I said... the UK did not have "ww2 under control" as you crudely put it.. Germany was a serious opponent... think of how many countries it took to take Germany down.. and she didn't go down easily either..

I asked who was the country that really stuck it to Germany more than any other...?? do you know this??

the UK did ask for assistance from her ally, the US.. but not military assistance... material assistance... resources, supplies... early on, the US really wanted to stay neutral.. the UK was ok with that... but the Empire as a whole was seriously depletely of materials due to that war effort because the UK was also fighting Japan from day 1... and Japan, like Germany was no push over...

Elitist? me? explain....

Man, that show last night was off the hook! the female unit and I had a great time. we got in pretty close, about the third or forth row of people from the front, towards the left hand side of the stage. I was the Black/Mexican guy with a blue and gray rasta hat, blue sweater and gray scarf. accompanied by a short, thick, beautiful mexican girl with glasses. She had a blast. There were reports of very high "tingle" levels. We didnt go "back stage" but we did get to the meet and greet. He just comes out, shakes your hand, pats you on the ass and sends you on your way. It was really cool.

My girls freind, who loves satch, wanted to go but didnt have enough money to pay for a ticket. Here is the funny thing, Since Fanfire fucked my shit up they gave me two tickets at will call. I dont know if that was them messing up again or them saying sorry. I still didn't get my laminate or t-shirt though. I bought a ticket on wednsday for my broad, so I ended up with an extra ticket. She tried to call her friend so she could attend but couldn't get a hold of her. Satch signed an autograph for her friend on the back of a meet and greet thingy, wich was really nice of him.

That concert was the best Satch concert I ever went to 'cause it was all him. The only thing bad I have to say is I wish the rythm guitar was a little louder. Oh yeah and did you notice that when they were playin' Bamboo at the part right before the solo, they droped the rythm that Joe establishes in the begining? That part builds so much suspence. should of kept it in there.

I won't be there tonight but I will be there tomorrow. I'm taking my cousin who has never been to a rock concert. He likes rap but loves to here me play. He has heard a couple of Satch songs that he likes. Now he will witness the source of my inspiration.

It is true that the good old USA kept their boys (and girls) out of Europe until the Pearl Harbor attack. But after Dunkirk we started sending ships, tanks and supplies to Mr. Churchill (one person I would like to belt down a bit of The Macallan, smoke a stogie, and throw on The Extremist with). That support came from the request of Mr. Churchill.

As far as being a elitist "I've decided... I'm gonna be world champion at something... when I've figured out what I want to be world champion at, I'm going to hold the event at my house and only invite me..."

nuf said.

P.S. Russia did some serious damage. Thanks to fear and vodka as a motivator. So why raise the minimum wage?

dam - jeez bro... that stuff was all a joke... I'm really sorry if I was not funny.. although that is what I actually intended...

why the hostility??

and the country that really stuck it to Germany was Russia...

by far they commited the most, suffered the most, and they deliverd the most severe blows...

without Russia the outcome would have been very different..

Jazzzzy, ironic is definitely the word dude! hehe. And thanks for the recommendation, i'll check 'em out, cause I sometimes get i the mood for that kind of thing, but only have Dream Theater and Liquid Tension to cover it, which gets tricky cause it starts to get boring! I know.....figure that one out! hehe

DamnIMissNamm, I think it was more of a case of the US deciding to get involved rather than Europe pleading for help. I mean yeah, we did say "okay somebody help us out here". Anyway....took your time didn't you? I'm only kidding on that, cause what happened in WW2 means nothing to me. I mean it does, it was tragic, epic, but it has absolutely no bearing on the political decisions/missdecisions that are made today.

And how come the US didn't help us out when we were being invaded by the Romans? ;-)

Yes it's up to the US to vote on it's leader, but the world is free to have an opinion on the outcome. And i'm saying that, when voting for that leader, perhaps the people of the US should spare just a few percent of their voting criteria, to consider the effects on the rest of the world from the election of the next president. The Global effects of voting Kerry in are different, and much much safer, than voting in Bush again. The ideal for the rest of us would be to have someone like Clinton in office, but I guess someone like Clinton is a little too free-thinking, just like Princess Diana was to the royal family - that's why they had to knock her off.

By the way, what war on terrorism are you referring to? Do you honestly think there is, or there has been, a war on terrorism? Saddam wasn't a terrorist, he was a dictator. They never caught Osama, so that was just swept under the carpet. Somehow, the US government used the media to cinvince the people (not just americans) that there was a threat, and that Weapons OF Mass Distruction came under the umbrella of the war on terrorism. There were no WMD's. Iraq probably sold them all to India and Pakistan. Then again, an Australian SAS squad found a couple of MIG 21's (i think 21's, but maybe 27's or 29's) buried under the sand in the desert, and they only found them by accident. They couldn't see them from the air.

So if the Iraqi's can bury planes the size of small houses under the sand, they sure as hell can hide a bomb the size of a suitcase.

Delfino, thanks for your feedback on News In Brief! I'm glad you like it. I need to get a newer version of Win Media Player and that'll help me with streaming audio. It's annoying - I was able to upload our track, but I can rarely listen to someone elses stuff cause my connection is shit. However, I'll download your mp3 over the weekend or something!
Clarky, "bush is definitely going to get me killed". Haha, yeah Mikey made a similar comment regarding the "Bush scratch" in our tune, News In Brief.

Yeah I hear what you're saying about countries only ever going to war because there's something in it for them, but there's a few that don't quite tie up. Like the US Liberation of Panama in the early 80's.....what the hell was that for? And yes, I agree that we only got involved in this latest middle-eastern skirmish cause Tony wanted a piece of the economical prize, but the issue for me, is that it wasn't Tony who started the damn war in the first place.

And I also agree on Russia - they inadvertantly did a massive amount to make it come out good for western Europe. Much like the Mongols inadvertantly saved our ass when the Romans tried to take over.

dam - yeah.. I just 'looked back'.. and saw the Russia note...

Germany definately underestimated Russia... they expected a bunch of farmers with shit kit, no stomach for a fight and essentially a sub-class of human..

and after the initial successes the discovered a very tough and resilient people that proved to be very resourceful..
that also had large numbers or T34 tanks.. which proved to be more that a little better than average... lol

Germany never wanted to fight with either the US or the Empire. he knew that they would most likely join forces.. as we did in ww1.. and he knew that no matter how great his military was.. he'd have trouble matching the strength of either let alone both... Hitler greatly admired the Empire and all it stood for and actually wanted to create a German equivalent.. the mistake was that he wanted to do it in Eastern Europe and Russia... so he banked on defeating the one major threat to his immediate west [France] and making an ally of the the other [UK]... being good buddies with the UK would have meant being buddies with the US too.. because we are culturally so closely related and have been tight allies for a long time... si this means that he only has one serious threat to take care of.. Russia [the country full of sub-normals that he expected to roll over]...
so when the UK and her Empire stood against him.. that kind of pissed on his fire a bit... like having a big guy at your back whilst your in a fight with another guy that turns out to be tougher than you expected... what helps though is that Japan is seriously pissing things up for the guy at your back [which helped Germany greatly]...

without the US... and only Russia and UK sorting it in Europe I think it could have gone either way... but most likely Germany would have lost in the end... it would have taken much longer though... once the US jumped in, the huge quantities of man power and resources that became available tipped the balance and shortened everything by years.... but even then.. Germany was never out of it for sure until late 44

The world is free to have an opinion on the government of the US. The US citizens have the right to exercise their right to vote and determine who will be the president. There is a big difference between an opinion and an effect. I could care less what PM you vote next. It is your vote not mine. If you feel Mr. Blair dose'nt have the rocks to lead get rid of him thats my opinion not that I have any effect.

As for your comment on what happened in ww2 has no bearing on the political decisions/misdecisions that are made today, oh contraire.

Bush said on Feb 4 of 04 "Over his long career, Winston Churchill knew success and he knew failure, but he never passed unnoticed. He was a prisoner in the Boer War, a controversial strategist in the Great War. He was the rallying voice of the Second World War, and a prophet of the Cold War. He helped abolish the sweat shops. He gave coal miners an eight-hour day. He was an early advocate of the tank. And he helped draw boundary lines that remain on the map of the Middle East. He was an extraordinary man."

The part about boundry lines that remain on the map of the middle east particularliy stands out to me.

Your narsacistic approach to the past / present relationsip to military decision making will have a more profound impact on your future than Mr. Bush being re-elected.

Youre focus is your reality.

cubert - I knew about that stuff... like I pointed out to 962 earlier... a Government will only get involved in a conflict if there is something in it for them...

it was in the greater interests if the US to see both Germany and Japan put down...
and I'm pretty sure that the US and the British governments and strategic planners would have met in the early days of the war to consider how the world would look with large Japanese and German Empires that are extremely military, highly motivated, technologically advanced and with the enourmous resources available to them that Empire wealth brings...

UK and USA were [and still are] by and large happy to be powerful and coexist...
Germany and Japan getting that strong would screw things seriously...

it was agreed that it was in the greatest interests of the US to get involved....

nothing to to with freedom... more to do with long term ecconomic prosperity.. with a hint of national security... [cos it's not nice having too many top dogs now is it... lmao]

You don't really give $26.00 to read that garbage from a man with a marketable last name do you? Then again, you have marred the lines between reality and Hollywood in your previous posts.

Full Metal Jacket. Minority Report.

To indulge you in this fantasy Hollywood realm, have you seen conspiracy theory?

They have medication for that. (yuk, yuk)

Did you guys notice the guys on the balcony with the banner that Joe read. I sat next to them at G3 last year. They always have a big ass banner.

Zinc Master: That place is way to far for me to travel. I dont have a car. It's just me, my U-pass and my Monthly Metra Pass. I dont like that kind of traveling. Since my girl and I broke up, I have to travel 40 or 50 miles everyday on public transit to get to work/school. When she and I lived together It was a mere 3 blocks away. I'll see you later on that night. Ill probably be wearing another blue outfit so I can sport my rasta hat again. I just got it It looks so cool. to be more specific it's three colors gray on top then a light blue band in the middle then a white(well it wont be so white after my second time wearing it) white brim. the hat is hand made, knitted. thats the key element to my outfit along with my gray and white scarf for anyone who is looking for me. I look like a rap star or some shit.
