This has been a most incredible weekend.......my HS reunion (tell u bout that later), Watching "Ray" the movie, watching G3-Tokyo and SRV "Live at El Macambo"........
I was totally blown away and amazed by all but I have to say SRV just took me to another level and I can't tell you where that is..........OMG, seeing him play Voodoo Chile,Texas Flood, Love Stuck Baby and "Third Stone From The Sun". I've never seen such raw passion since Jimi & he's got it, if not more!! I am in AWE of the man......I've never seen him live & this is only the 2nd DVD I've ever seen....... I had tears, No words can express what I felt....... simply unbelievable is an understatement, let alone what he did to my soul......
I just kick myself for missing SRV.......at least when I get to Heaven I will see him , Jimi, Janis, Ray Charles, Ronnie Van Zandt as well as so many other great talents.....
Zenfish: Glad you liked the photos, have you seen "El Macambo" or "Ray"? My Oh My!!
What do you think of Ray Charles, have you listened to him? I find him incredibly deep and his voice bringing the Blues from days gone past....maybe it just me? I love his music and his spirit.

Michelle: So nice that you didn't have any drama, very cool. That's how holidays are supposed to be, relaxing and enjoying! My parents are in Largo, outside of Tampa (Gulf Coast) 2 hrs from Disney & Chris OCSP.... Can't wait to meet him someday when I finally get my butt down to Florida......so many other places/shows to go see!

ScalesDude I wouldn't say a ghost note is either intended nor a mistake, it's just something that happens... I'll put money that most guitarists' transcribed ghost notes "just kinda happened", but I'm glad my explanations helped! :-)
Satriella that's cool about Keith Flint and Co!!! A guy I used to work with knew Keith and Keith's Dad very well... he used to be on TV, he was the coolest guy, always had time for you, always had a smile, and *always* took breakfast on The Strand... name of Gary Jacobs.... very sadly he died a couple of years ago... I was (still am) gutted...
TheBob get it reported ASAP! eBay has both buyer and seller protection... time to make a claim! I would strongly advise against confronting the seller personally... do it through eBay... I'm sorry you are at the receiving end of such a bad transaction :-(

Its time for me to start recording again,,after 15 years,,,first you said that they were different,,then you say you have USED Garage Band??

hope you are fealing great.
im posting 'cause i want to ask if your g3 will be in germany or europe sometime..
please visit us here!! its awful to see your shows on dvds but not to see it live! we were at a steve vai concert in september and it was just great.. but if you would make a g3 in germany, a dream would get real.. i like your shows, your way of music, your fluiding legato licks, can't wait to see a show.. ! you guys are so great, its really inspiring to listen to your music.
if i would have more money i would fly to the states..
it would be really great if you have time to visit germany (visit cologne!! and drink a kölsch :)

OCPS470...Plek is a computerized fret leveling system...Gary Brawer is a licensed user amoung a handful of other operators...my Luthier kinda said the same thing...machine doing a human's job...but if it's that accurate...?

Dear Joe,
First of all thanks for the new G3 DVD. IMHO it was the best G3 so far. Players are quite different and yet the show is viewed as a whole, noone is 'dropped out' style-wise. I have two questions regarding your gear.
First of all, is the red 7-string guitar an instrument exclusively built for you or will it be available as an extension of JS series?
Second, I've had an impression that the first song of your set was played on JS100, which can be identified by label "Joe Satriani" on the last fret on the neck. Is it really so, and if yes, what are the reasons behind playing this guitar? Promotional arrangements? Run out of guitars? ;)
As far as I know, the JS100 is considered as budget replacement for "real" JS and lacks some features which I believe are important to you.
Thanks and keep the G3 alive! Hope to be the third G some day :))

SteveeT: Huh....interesting. Well, Peter does say that he hates doing fretwork, even though he's great at it. He wishes he had someone to do fret and paint work (the stuff he gets little satisfaction from).

Good Morning Satchland..... How's it goin' today?
Had a great Holiday and I hope you guys did also. Rented War of the Worlds. What a great movie. Tom Cruise did a great job. Got the band back togather. I officially have a rhythm section. I'm so excited. It's been almost two years. It's great to be playin in the band again. I love it sooooo.
Mari.....I had my reunion Halloween weekend. We didn't go. I went to all the other ones. I just didn't feel like going this time. None of the friends I hung out with were going. So we decided not to go. I hope your's went well. How was the show at B.B.'s? Take care.

OCPS470..... I love the CS1000's. I have a pair of them. I use them as O.H. mics for drums and they sound great. AKG came out with a entry level mic that's getting great reviews. AKG 2020. It lists for a whopping $99.00. The rewiews are awesome and at that price you can definetly afford a bunch. You can use this mic on anything and it sounds great. This is info from reviews ....I haven't checked one out yet. I love technology. We 're living in an age of bang for the buck...and it's great.
Dakook..... How are you, Angelina and twins doing? Hope you guys had a good holiday. The Pro Tools VS. GarageBand is really not a point. Pro Tools is by far better than Garageband......but it's up to your buget and needs really. I have both and they're great. Pro Tools has great recording features and the editing power is unreal. The plug ins that are available are endless. But do YOU need all that? GarageBand is great for anyone on any level. It is getting more pwerful with more and more 3rd party support. GarageBand 2 now offers 8 tracks of recording at a time with a tune feature to fix out of tune vocals. It's easy to learn and the loops sound great and it's seemless with iTunes. If you're looking to write and record music GarageBand is a good starting point. I 'm pretty sure you can only get it in the iLife package which is $79.00 not $40.00. Check it out...you'll be happy you did
SteveeT...... I love your songs. It really is great music. I'm sure you've heard of Taxi. If you're not a member....you should be so you can submitt your music. I think it's perfect for film or for use in music libraries where Co.'s shop for background music for there presentations. Go for it. You got the goods. http://www.taxi.com

Joe, I just got done viewing the G3 pictures with Robert Fripp and was really disgusted. Does he have an anxiety disorder, or does he just think he is too cool or too good to be up there participating with you and Steve in the jams; or, what is it? I know of some of his philosophies and am a big Crimson fan, but I don't get his refusal to be seen as a part of G3 or his own band for that matter. I wonder if he even enjoys being on stage and experiencing the bliss of live performance...Why does he sit down constantly and in the dark? And, were you at all bothered at the fact that he was sitting in the dark off to the side during the G3 jam? It freakin looked like a G2 tour!
