"Mike Portnoy is sad...... : ( It's been a long, exhausting year (both physically and mentally) with many unexpected ups and downs and I think the most valuable lesson for me has been that the only people you can TRULY count on is FAMILY...thank you Marlene, Melody and Max for ALWAYS being there for me...."

dakawan, what row were you in? We were in seats 122 & 124 :-) Cheese wasn't in Philly. She just found the vids on youtube. Chee is an Oregano...from Oregon. Not Philly, but WITT all the same :-)

Oh shit! ANDALUSIA from St Petersburg

Wooleyman- I'm not sure if my setlist isn't updating, but Ice 9 shouldn't be on there at all! Thanks for bringing it up; I'll keep an eye on it.

Wooley- I see what you're talking about.. I wasn't actually AT the show last night, I was just curious what the setlist was going to be so I knew what to look forward to on the DVD. If I understand correctly, Joe performed Ice 9 two times, but had technical difficulties during the first one (show opener), and performed it again at the close of the show for the sake of the DVD.

GottahaveJoe: Sorry to hear your dad ended up with the "Pro" I sent you? Your JS should be a winner. Send a pic to me about your trem, I'll give you some practicle advice! Wash your hands in warm water and stretch them out a bit before playing, That'll keep the cramps and soreness out there for ya.

Awwww, congrats to Guitarplayersgirl for winning the aftershow at the Fillmore, Detroit show....that's totally AWESOME and I betcha a bazillion dollars that Joe happily signs the pink guitar!

Sometimes things do work out, don't they :))))

Whelp, it's totally pouring rain here, and it's MOVING DAY! Chris gets to move into his very own apartment for the first time in his life....it's gonna be a long day for mother and son, but he's very excited, loves the idea of his independence...and can take his favorite cat with him. Momma is having a heart attack of course but forge ahead we shall. The nice thing is, it's here in the same town so he can be near family again.

Wouldn't mind a few prayers if peeps have the time, that Chris makes good choices and does well with this new phase of his life. Of course there will be bumps, that's unavoidable....I just hope there's no bottomless pits! =|

Chelle, we loved the cat video, Simon is epic, LOL!

Hey dakawan and ant-nee, long time no see!

Flash Moron- Thanks for posting the music radar interview & vids. Very enjoyable....Joe seems to be in great spirits and energy even though he has playing almost every night on this tour.

When he brought out his acoustic guitar I experienced gear GAS for the first time ever ...my greedy lil heart said WANT

LOL

Of course since I don't play it would be a total waste.....but anyway

Hi Everyone.

Hope everyone is doing well. Just been busy as usual. I have my last run/race (ultra-marathon) of 2010 this Saturday down in Huntington. It will be bittersweet because this is the last Huff 50K (33 miles) they are putting together. I'm just glad that I was able to do it last year and I'm doing it again. The goal is to break 5 hours and 11 minutes, which was last year's time.

js1200js1000: To answer your question. The guitar I have is a JS100 in White.

Yes, I do have an electric guitar (actually I got it back from a friend). Surprised him with it on his birthday and then decided he didn't want it anymore and gave it back, which is cool. One of my coworkers, another close friend of mine, recommends/urges me to play guitar and gave some ideas on which strings or humbuckers to use, etc. He's been playing for 13 years and is in a band.

Sedoy: Hi and I hope you are well.

Michelle: I saw your cat post. How cute and funny. I even watched a couple more of those. I am a cat person.

I also want to wish you all a safe Happy Holiday. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa; as well as Happy New Year, Seaspn's Greetings, Happy Holidays, and Blessed Yule.

Joe all the best for ya. Hopefully, if it works, that you might pop back in Indiana again.

Grant

Cheese- Great big hugs for you..how awesome Chris gets to move into his very own apartment!!!! And in the same town!! But I understand your concerns....and I definitely will keep Chris & ( his momma) in my prayers..... My" baby boy" is gonna be a daddy in just a few short weeks.....having to grow up and face responsibility a bit sooner than I had hoped . But he's a good kid and working hard at his future for his little family. Sigh.....................

Glitzman- Good luck on your race!!!!!!!!!

Randell- yeah i begged for him to give it back but honeslty I think he threw it away. When I was moving my stuff out, that was onea the things he hid, along iwth my 1600 downhill mountain bike that I PAID FOR, and of course some other things. But for my Tremolo on the JS, where the bar goes it looks like something broke off in it. I might have to take it to a shop to get it fixed. I cant put the trem bar in there because of that thing.

Monterrey Trace - Best of luck to you and Chris, my lad moved into his own flat this year. Things never go very smoothly but they do go and things gradually improve (or at least I convince myself so). At least Chris hasn't got into "bad company" so that's a good start.

Kayla - If you can get a pic I'm sure one of us could help you.

On a personal note, sold my Yamaha T-50c (Soldano SLO clone) and will be picking up a Mesa Boogie DC-10. 100 Watts of pure Mesa goodness. Sunday rehearsal is not going to be here fast enough!

Joe, long time fan, 20 years? Probably one of your biggest most loyal fans. I love all the great guitar work from around the world, but none top your wide ranging emotional mystical expertise.

PLEASE REQUEST YOUR BOOKING PEOPLE TO SCHEDULE A SHOW IN MAINE IN 2011. It would be a highlight of a lifetime to see you in concert. Chronic late stage Lyme disease does not allow me to travel far, and life is hard. Please make my day, my week, my month, my year, my decade....with a one night show in Maine.

Type my name John LaFollette into the youtube search box. You'll see what your inspiration does.....you took me, a lifelong cover club guitarist, into the wildly different world of original instrumental rock live performance Lots of people record at home, but succeeding with it onstage is a completely different much more challenging game. 8 months and probably 50 auditions later, I'm still not finding the quality people I need, so I do live shows with self made backing tracks. The 7 youtube videos are not pro quality, but decent. I am happy to say every single show has been phenomenal. Though it takes me days to recover from each. And I have YOU to thank for all the inspiration. The Satriani blueprint works!

You are the most awesome, and I hope you know. PLEASE do a concert in Maine. There are enough fans here to sell it out. Preferably a venue with seating. Thank you Joe!

Hi Joe. I'm a new fan and really enjoy your music and style of guitar playing. Let me ask you. Have you experimented with other types of guitars? (i.e. acoustic, 12 string, classical, 7 string and such.) And do you use any alternative tunings for any of your pieces. I'm sorry if you've answered these questions before but I really admire your playing! Thanks!
