Nope! ;-)

I thought my dad and I might fly out to Chicago to see that show with my uncle, but we couldn't figure out details quickly enough. Maybe we will for the regular on-sale? I don't know.

If not, I'll hope that the west coast dates don't conflict with the million other things I have going on in September.

What a goin's on this mornin'! We went to bed thinking we were going to TWO shows in Atlantic City, and woke up to ONE show in Atlantic City. Them bitches did the ol' switcheroo whilst we were sleeping. The first show was at the Borgata, which is a small venue - way to small for the likes of the Foot. Then last evening a second show popped up at the HOB. We were like - HELL YEAH! Two shows in a row - who'da thunk it? NOBODY - cause it ain't happenin'! lol!

From what I understand, they changed venues but listed BOTH of them so it looked like two shows back to back. How cruel. lol!

Anyways - FTFF! We'll have one show (shit man yeah!) and a weekend at the shore gettin' liquored up and seeing the sites. I've never been to two shows in a row, so I'm not really missing anything, but it would have been one hellova good time.

It's all good, and the Foot is gonna rock our faces off!

Anyways - dunno what hit me yesterday, but I was listening to Runnin' Out and I thought - this would be the perfect cover song for Elmer Fudd! In fact, Elmer could rock the whole album!

CHECK THIS JOE -

...did you peeps see this vid a filming class made it for Avenida Revolucion?

If it was posted before, I missed the link, but it deserves to get posted again.

The Chickenfoot album sold 49,000 copies in its first week, good for No. 6, Billboard says. Dave Matthews Band is No. 1 (their fifth straight debut at the top), with 424,000 sold.

Billboard

I think Billboard's "week" runs Monday through Sunday. Chickenfoot was released on a Friday, so it had a short week...I don't know if the 49,000 was adjusted to reflect that (Was it really 30,000? Would it have been 75,000 with a full week?)...

I don't know for sure, but I assume this is Joe's highest Billboard debut.

No biggie yesterday.......just took my Steve to Nurse Practitioner appointment for staple removal--doctors don't do stitches anymore for small cuts in the skin. Steve had several simple partial seizures yesterday......no fun.....he was disoriented and grumpy.......;-/

It's clear that Sammy the surfer, RHCP Chad and Bass master Mike are super fans of Joe! I can tell because they want to spend time hanging out with him as well as making great music together!

Dang! It's taking me forever to get through 15 pages of posts.

Slans--Thanks for the hugs and well wishes.

Scubadaz--Next week Steve has an appointment with a hematologist. I guess we will find out what tests need to be done at that time. I think they'll have to look at his platelets at the molecular level and figure out why they aren't working the way they're supposed to........this is a setback......and yet, Stanford doctors don't give up easily and neither do we!

Guitarvibes--I love the vids of Marco Sfogli.....I like Andromeda and will give a listen to the CD "There's hope".

Alan--Sorry ta hear about your sister. Too bad you have to share a bathroom with her. If this helps....My friend who lives in Santa Cruz grew up with 6 sisters and 2 brothers!! He is the oldest and couldn't believe his parents were having kids like rabbits!! His sisters always hung their girlie clothes in the bathrooms that he shared with 8 siblings......they had to share 2 bathrooms........4 or 5 in line for a bathroom!! imagine that......yikes! He said his best defense was getting out of the house as soon as possible in the morning!

I guess I was lucky to have only 2 sisters and we did ok sharing.....most of the time! ;-)

Michelle, Tracie and Austin--I'm running as fast as I can to catch up on these posts! I'm about ready to pass out!

August Guitar Player has a review of the new Chickenfoot album, and an article on Jason Becker, Joe is quoted briefly in it...I'ma hafta check out his latest album. AND....

Joe and Sammy are gonna be on next months (Septembers) Guitar Player cover, with a feature story on Chickenfoots :)

I have 4 people at work convinced to buy the cd so far, woo woo!! I'm slowly workin my way around to everyone, LOL!!

Ya know.....I never used to believe in magic, dint think it was real at all. But when I listen to new music, such as a new Joe album, or this Chickenfoot album.....I become a believer. How else can you explain how human beings can take some instruments, come up with some ideas....and put all the separate parts together into an incredible whole and come up with these songs?? I mean....who would think to put that little warble there, or that particular drum beat here, or that harmonica line wherever....strings at unexpected times, or piano...putting harmonies together with voices...HOW do they do it??? And do it so incredibly well??? HOW???

It's totally amazing and mysterious to me and I thank god for the people who do it so well....makes life worth living.

Joe.....awesome chemistry with these other 3 guys, not a bad idea you had to hook up with em, LOL!!! U done good Sparky :)

Gad dang but I LOVE Bitten By The Wolf!!!! Well hell...I love the whole album!!! BBTW is just soooo different though!!

Oh yes....faces are gonna slide right off in AC, LOL!!!!

YEEFOOKINHAW!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!

PS...Rockline with Chickenfoot one week from tonight!!

Well done on the album sales guys! 6th spot on the first week on Billboard wasn't it? Awesome.

I am doing what I can to promote you guys too. Everyone around here is threatening to buy 2 albums each if it will just shut me up! :)

Hahahaha

Also, Webbie - have you sorted out T2J accounts for Chad and Michael yet? What colors did they get? You also need an account for Sammys wife/Personal Assistant, and a suitable color also. We need to get the band to pop in and post every so often. I am dreaming of the day I log in to a technicolor page one day with posts from the whole band. What a kick that would be!

Anyway, again, keep up the awesome work. Cannot WAIT to see you guys live! Still trying to swing a trip to the US for the end of the year....

Guitarvibes : as said in your link, tone starts with fingers. Fingers can become very executive of all sort of stuff with training, but tone is not here. The knowledge of material, i mean your material, counts also a lot. But tone is not here.

The source of tone is inside the expression that your soul transmits to your fingers with the help of your ears. No secret. Just you in front of music. To see arise your own tone is the more difficult thing. I think that all the advanced players will agree on that point.

That's why i'd always recommand to beginners to start with acoustic guitar, & listen to what happens just with fingers, strings & wood.

& about pedals, as i dare to think that i know the subject, pedals are a long way, a way without end. A way where occurs the subjective taste, & the maze of settings.

______________________

Other subject : does anybody notice that during a mix, if you follow your ears, the result will get more dynamic than if you follow the level's indicators?

Roo- Red is taken already so Sammy can't be the RED Rocker on here.[br}

Pip from the reaction of those girls, it must taste really harsh. I usually am not afraid to try new foods because I figure I may be missing something good. Me and food go way back. I'm a big fan.

Hybes-

Looks like the rain split us. We are in the North East corner. We could actually use a small bit in places. We got rained out in one area yesterday until noon but remained dry in another spot.

I like the Chickenfoot " feather thing" that was a great line. Yeah I'm a bit disappointed they are not at least coming to St. Louis.

On the whole VH thing with Ed and his BS, well I think you all know how I feel. I mean at a certain point you have to say look Ed this is not Van Halen anymore. It's a freakin' side project. I swear he is one the the people who I look at as having the world by the tail and doing everything they can think of to screw it up. I am very passionate on this subject. When Sammy was out, it gave me a sick feeling in my gut and I still have not bought a VH album since. It kinda bothers me that there are some VH songs I have never heard, but that's the way it has to be. I have lost all respect for Ed and Alex.

Yesterday while driving , I had someone in the truck with me and were talking so I had Chickenfoot down to conversation level. Sam and Mike's harmonies sound like "Van Hagar" which for me is a good thing. I can't even remember which song was playing but I guess it sounded so much like Van Hagar that when the solo started I stopped talking and looked at my cd player I guess expecting the hear EVH and I realized what Joe has brought to the table here is something different and special for me. The more I listen to this record the more it grows on me.

I hope that this project continues and I would like to see Joe influence the melodies a bit more. He has done that on somewhat of these songs and it adds a nice touch. I feel this thing will only get better with time.

Well I looked at the radar and got caught back up on the posts, back to bed for a couple of hours.

Oh and Skippy I was just giving you and the girls a hard time. I know Lemmy would have to take a backseat to Hugh :-) Pip mentioned a specific kind of bread to try with the Vegemite.

Party on Wayne!!
