I'll let Chris post his own ty message later....but fer me.....thanks for the congratulatory messages...and I'll take that drink now!!!

Was beginning to think we'd never see this day, when he would actually graduate!! What a struggle it's all been, keeping Chris going (going TO school and just going in general, lol) and battling the school to do what's right.....if any of you out there have a disabled child, don't be afraid to go to bat for them and be their biggest advocate. It ain't always easy or comfortable....but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.....and Chris had to work hard to do his part.

And so, I can now proudly say:

CONGRATULATIONS TO MY SON, THE CHEEZEWHIZ....YOU MADE IT!!!! :))))

Hey Joe!
Im a bit dissapointed theres no venue in Slovenia, why dont u squeeze one in around 13th July when you have a venue in Opatija? I know you guys from USA think everything is close here, but, well, for us, it really isnt!
Of course if there will be no venue nearer here ill try to find some time to go to Croatia :S

cheers

It was a strange event… On my way home from work, I went into the big store at the city center to check what kind of GPS sensors they sell… then, barely remember what was happening… found myself coming out of the store with ticket for Joe’s concert… Now, I’ll be watching 2 on the same week. :-))

UK music fans can copy own tracks

UK music fans no longer face the threat of prosecution for copying their own CDs on to PCs or MP3 players, as long as the songs are only for personal use.

Peter Jamieson, chairman of the British Phonographic Industry, said consumers would only be penalised if they made duplicates of songs for other people.

Currently anyone transferring music to portable devices breaks copyright laws.

The music industry has traditionally turned a blind eye, however, in favour of targeting "professional" pirates.

"We believe that we now need to make a clear and public distinction between copying for your own use and copying for dissemination to third parties," said Mr Jamieson, whose organisation represents the UK's record labels.

He told the Commons select committee for culture, media and sport that he wanted to "make it unequivocally clear to the consumer that if they copy their CDs for their own private use in order to move the music from format to format, we will not pursue them".

Domination 'not healthy'

Mr Jamieson also called for Apple - which makes the popular iPod portable music player - to open up its iTunes software so it is compatible with the technology of other manufacturers.

Apple applies a digital protection system to its downloads, which means they are not usually compatible with other companies' devices.

He said iTunes' dominant market share in downloads was "not particularly healthy" and said he "would advocate that Apple opts for interoperability".

Consumers in the UK pay 79p per track on iTunes and - generally - £7.90 for a full album, although this can vary according to the number of songs and the status of the artiste in question.

In February, music industry investigators claimed someone in almost every street in every town in the UK was illegally copying music and film.

The Federation Against Copyright Theft and British Phonographic Industry said home counterfeiters now accounted for the majority of their investigations.

The Section 115 Reform Act (SIRA), in complex language that will make your head spin, introduces mandatory licenses for basically every digital copy made of a piece of music. So, if you copy a song from a CD to your MP3 player, you'd need a license to do so - and we're right there where the copyright industry has wanted to go all along: the pay per view society where each time you listen to a song, you'll have to pay for it. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060606-6994.html

The RIAA has slapped the brakes on a P2P music streaming in the UK - Tiscali's "Tiscali Juke Box" has apparently become a victim of its own features when Tiscali added a search engine to the service. The RIAA wants more money for service that allows consumer to search by artists. http://uk.tiscali.mercora.com/tiscali_letter_uk.htm
