Satriella, it's nice to seomone so enthusiastic about joining the community, I'm glad my "welcome" note put a smile on your face! So you wanna know what "962" means huh?! haha, German sports/performance car legend Porsche made an endurance racing car in the early 80's called the 956. It took many back-to-back victories at endurance events all over the world, including a string of wins at the infamous LeMans 24 hour race. A variant of the 956 was built to comply with changes in the design rules and regulations of the sport, and this variant was the 962.

Then in the early 90's, German business entrepeneur Jochen Dauer bought an ex-racing 962, stripped it down, and rebuilt it with a lot of revisions to modernise it and make it suitable for road use. The Dauer 962LM was born in 93/94 and won the 24hr race at LeMans in 94, and was, until about 5 or 6 weeks ago, the quickest car on the planet, hitting 60mph in just under 2.5 seconds, and reaching a maximum speed of 251mph (although some believe it will go faster if put on a straight road that's long enough).

I know, that was a lengthy explanation, and I could have said "oh, it's just a car", but if you hang around for a while you'll soon realise I'm a Porsche loyalist and the 962 is particularly important to me! hehe. It's trivial, but it's kind of interesting!

I don't think there is any way of getting an official copy of the Seville 92 expo. But we'll see.....Eric Johnson is soon to release a DVD of his perfromance at a show in Texas some time in the 80's or 90's.....I can't remember when, but I know it's old and I know I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Regards Chad's tag - JS1200JS1000, yeah they're names of guitars. They're the two Ibanez Joe Satriani Signature guitars that he's got! Also in the JS range are JS100, JS600, JS900, JS2000 and then there's a bunch of special edition Satriani Guitars that Ibanez did as various "anniversary" models....one of these had it's body completely covered in Chrome, so this is what people are talking about when they talk about "chromeboy".

It was a special edition to mark the 10th anniversary of the Ibanez Joe Satriani Signature guitar, so it is also commonly referred to as the "JS10th".

The show in San Franciso was awesome. We were even clapping and cheering in the audiance. It was sooooo great that you were there Joe. Thanks (I was the one in the front taking your pic ;) ). It was also awesome that Jeff was there and hung around after the show. We got to chat with him a bit and I even got a pic with him. Thanks Jeff!!!! Hope you like the pictures I left with him from your Reno Deep Purple show. I think ending this set with Smoke on the Water was just perfect!

Having John P. back in the G3 mix was awesome. I saw the show in 2002 at the Warfield in SF and I liked it so much I flew down to Atlanta to see it again at the Tabernacle a week later. You guys rock!!! I look forward to many more shows. Please send a note out to your email list (or to me :) ) letting us know if you are doing just small loical gigs. I am in the area and will gladly travel to see even a small set.

One last comment that may not be popular with others is my opinion for the calling of John Petrucci and the retiring of Steve Vai from the G3 set. I think John would round out as a solid ongoing G3 member. Steve has been with the gig for a long time and he even said in the last G3 DVD (the Denver one) that he was getting kinda tired of it or something like that. Steve is great...we all know that, but rope in John P. as the soild two Gs and then add a third when you're ready. I really think you could take G3 to the next level with John.

Take care and be well!!!

Saw G3 on the big screen in Chicago with my girl yestersday;shyt was tight. I wish it was longer; they all needed more time to shine. It was cool to see searching on the 7 string and vai do ku'm pee du wee (or however you spell it). I wanted it to be louder though; it seemed as though I was humming along louder than they were playing.

Ha ha, Joe speeks Japanese...

Hey joe, can I get a copy of your EWJS tour footage since there is no DVD as of yet? I'll play you for it!

PEACE

Funny anuj...it was great. You'll probably hate my comment about Steve then. Just think about how John, Steve, and Joe performed. I think John kicked a$$. He did so the last two times I saw him with G3.

I will say that I also saw him when he toured with Joe, Kings X and DreamTheater. I saw them in John's home town in Long Island, NY and I have to say I did not like Dream Theater at all. Joe was unfortunately in the middle of both groups and I left the show after Dream theater played thinking how bummed I was that Dream Theater kinda suked.

Anyway, Joe was awesome (and it was the first time I saw Matt on bass). It was a great show.

Hope there is more rocking joe and company to come!!!

Don´t know if this is the right place to write this but...Brasil is really waiting for your tour brother. We know it´s kinda toilsome arranging all that sponsoring and paper stuff or even a gap in the schedule, but when it happens get yourself down here and don´t forget that we´re not just São Paulo and Rio. Um abraço!

Ah cool man, I didn't realise you had a RG7321...I love fixed-bridge guitars, don't get me wrong though a tremolo arm is an excellent tool when used well like for example when Vai completely owns it. However, I've never really got into using them when I've had them in the past.

I don't s'pose you could suggest some pickups that would make it sound even more awesome?

I'm specialising in ambient music as you may of heard from my recent posts, but also I've started an electronica project with my two best mates called "All Day Breakfast" where I'm going to be playing some guitar parts over some prodigy style beats with samples from films in them. Also some guys who have chosen "Audio Processing" as a module for 'Film Production' have asked me to do some stuff on their assignment as they are allowed to incorporate music from people outside of the group if that person can play an instrument.

Cheers dude,

Delfino

Hi Joe,

My names Alex Teske, Im 16 and just started playing guitar about 2 months ago. I previously was playing bass but got into guitar from my friend and bandmate. I would Like to start doing some gigs using my guitar but the problem is that my friend has a half stack and all I have is a 15 watt marshall that he gave me, Im rather short on money but want to be heard because all the guys in the band say I'm really good for only 2 months; do you know any good but low cost amps say about 100 watts and about $250.

js1200js1000... the phase switch puts the each humbucker out of phase...it kinda sounds like a Les Paul Recording guitar with the nasal strat sound...it offers additional tonal options...which I'm very use to as I've owned an 83' Ibanez Roadstar with the same switch...that I purchased way back when I was playing in Des Moine. Ioway...Huey Lewis was staying in the hotel we were playing in the week I bought it....oh dear...such a long time ago...."The Heart of Rock & Roll is still beatin"!!

death cube k...you've changed my whole paradigm of a dck.

slanshroom...at your suggestion, I've just finished a remix of Chromeboy & The Lava Lamp, and brought the guitar out front & the pulsing techno keyboard is now more discernable....thanks for pushing me that extra nudge to get it closer to correct...hopefully my webmaster can post it by the weekend for me...Peace out!
