3400, way to go Al!

Hey peeps, as some of you know, my stepdad is battling rectal cancer. He's going in to have his surgery tomorrow morning to remove the tumor and get a colostomy. If you would all be so kind to send my pop John a prayer and some good vibes we would greatly appreciate it.

I'll try to check in at the end of the day for an update. I'll be at the hospital all day with my mom & my 2 sisters. It's gonna be a long day. We're leaving here at 5:00 a.m. - surgery at 7:00.

Thanks in advance.

much love

Shel

Now how good was the Closing Ceremony???

Ya gotta love Whole Lotta Love, and David Beckham (*sigh*) what a honey. I think London did really well to differentiate itself from the Chinese Games, they played to their strengths.

However, lots of pooh=poohers on the talkback radio this morning - they just don't get why Led Xeppelin would be part of London's culture, or they were diehard LZ fans who were incensed that the BI girl tried to sing the song. Sheesh.

We finished 6th on the medal table - pretty happy with that and so ends a solid 2 weeks of Games watching.

roo I really like the site - so much work! I had no idea there were so many more JS albums. Do you have the little 45 rpm Always with Me single with the pop-art cover?

My stepdad had his colostomy three weeks ago. He's still at the hospital but he seems getting better everyday. He's now starting to eat solid meals.
Hope everything goes well with your stepdad. Fingers crossed.

Hey Joe, do you remember the "inflatable guitar dude" who was rockin' the front row of your Philly show during the EOC tour? That was a memorable night, I also snagged a front spot at the Electric Factory and met you for the first time afterwards (didn't get many words out, though).

I'm sitting here listening to some vintage Satch and reminiscing as I'm about to "retire" my ratty old "Cybersurfing with the Alien" T-shirt that I've had since I was a high school freshman (25 now). It was my "lucky" shirt for a while, and now it's time for me to pay my respects and send it off properly... By cutting it to pieces so a passing bum can't steal it and ruin its legacy. Gotta watch out for those legacy-ruining bums in L.A.

ANOTHER PIECE OF THE ZEPPELIN PUZZLE?

"Friday morning (August 22) on a Detroit radio station, drummer Jason Bonham revealed that he is leaving Foreigner at the end of this month. Since Jason filled the seat once occupied by his late father John Bonham at the Zeppelin show in London last December, does this raise the likelihood of a full-fledged Led Zeppelin reunion?

Jason, who was (obviously) born in England, now lives in Florida. He said, "I've been over [to England] a couple of times, I've been working with Jimmy [Page] and John Paul [Jones] and trying to do just do some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something."

Jason says, "My time with Foreigner is coming to an end. This is the first time I've talked about it. I leave at the end of this month so, I mean, I'm looking forward to taking some time out to be with the family really. Since I moved to America I've been on the road, so my first priority is to go and watch my kids grow up, because they've grown up way to fast in the last four years."

No word from Foreigner on who will replace Jason."
