zenfish I have found a mutant gene i am about to expliot
steevee t I don't think sony has much to say about who gets on G3, EJ was not on sony, JP is not on sony... IF its about drawing people . Joe and Steve have plenty of Draw power. i bet more people would go for a lesser known .. but based on that ..I don't think andy timmons would draw enough either... that leaves Steve Morse..

Hey Satchland..

Last night my fretting hand seized up on me about halfway through our gig. My cramped hand was literally clamped to the neck...it sucked. Usually it takes about half of the first set to get my hands warmed up, but this cramping never went away for the whole night. Anyone here ever experience this problem? And was there a solution? Maybe I just need to spend more time practicing every day to stay on top of it.....

let's talk some theory, man! I definitely agree, the more theory you know, the more you can write "magic" things, but it's up to you and your sensitivity as an artist. I have to say that JOE's playing is mind blowing and he is my personal best player of all time, but when I start analyzing his music is when I get truly amazed... I studied music in college and my composition teacher was a berklee graduate. He is a piano player and he told me he thought satriani was great, even though his music was not really appealing to him...
After I studied with him I started digging into JOE's music a lot more and really understanding modals and stuff and let me tell you, "Time" never sounded better to me... It's not just about theory or how many add4 chords you can use in one progression... it's about the way you pull it off and make music out of it. I LOVE JOE's fantastic and unusual way to make stuff fit, and I think the moment you get past the amazing technique and the jaw dropping legato phrases, you get a whole new side of the picture, and the music becomes essential to your existence, because his music is a true expression of his soul, and when you get it, you relate to it, and in my opinion, enjoy it in a "cool new way"...

what do you think about the new DVD??? i attended the concert in detroit and i like the fact that he jammed a lot and he kept that vibe during the whole tour... there's something different about this new DVD, I still can't say what, but this performance has definitely inspired me like no other thing ever...

I attended the May 3rd show at "The Grove" in Anaheim, CA. GREAT SHOW!!! Picked up both the CD and DVD yesterday. The CD doesn't start out with "Flying...." but rather with "Redshift Riders." Even my CD player in my car is confused saying "Flying......." on the display text and vice-versa with "Redshift" when those songs are playing. No problem I'll just burn them in the correct order, I never keep the originals in my car. Anyone else has this problem with the song order? Also the DVD has "May 2" as the concert date at The Grove when it was May 3 on the back cover.
