on Ike Turner:
Like I've told others before, to me, Ike is one of those guys that everybody's heard of, but nobody's every heard.

nothing wrong with him i guess, but there are so many people that shouldn't be below him.

Can anyone tell me what effects Joe is using for "Brother John"? I learned to play that song about 12 years ago but never quite got the wonderful mellow tone and sharp attack. It's like chorus, but there must be some EQ or delay in there.

Joe? Help an old fan out, K?

i needed help with time signatures, too. i listened to dream theater, and my problems were solved because they play almost all the time signatures you could ever care to know about (2/4, 3/3, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/8, 7/4, 11/4). once you know them, you will learn to really like them a lot more than 4/4. DT is especially good to listen to because they make the most complicated time signatures sound perfeclty smooth (example solitary shell, which is in 7). they are a great band.

UNLEASH THE GUITAR FURY!!! HA HA HA HA HA

secret prayer for G3!! THE FORGOTTEN PT. II FOR G3!!!!

Brother John has some slight chorus, delay, and a poppy sound.. if you have a JS, use the PAF pro with the coil splitter on. that's how i would do it. sorry about the double post.

SuppaDave Nice work on the smoking man, I've just got 8 months under my belt after 19 years, shame about the extra 35 lbs but that's next on the list - lmao ;-)

Dave Get in there son, you know good things are coming your way ;-) Nice work on stashing the gear as well man, things look a little bit brighter than a month ago already eh ?

For the young tokers on here, the advice of an ex, although long serving veteran of 'da 'erb', keep it recreational and don't forget to stop sometime. Don't let it take over your life, there's so much more you could be doing. (Hmmm sounds like a sermon............ not meant that way ;-)

Hey all.... Just a quick note saying that i was kindly invited by Pete Mulas to go into the studio and watch him record some of his coolest song 'Diablo'.... I have some pictures i took so if there is enough interest, and an affirmative from pete, i will put them up on my webspace... and post a link.
Pete was amazing, so great to see him play it in person, amazing technique... Thanks for inviting me mate! Had a blast!!!! He was using my guitar too, a mint 1990 JS1 (pre JS1000 with the single coil in the middle). It was good to finally let someone who can REALLY play, have a go with it so.... Thanks again Pete....

Mowlie: you are mistaken...you put music in front of a guitarist to stop them playing. It's a proven fact. I've seen it a million times.

I recall that the Jonathan/Joe thing was "water under the bridge" a few years later though?

Crushing Day: I don't give a rat's' about the qualityof Talk To Me, it's such an old song no-one would care. My mp3 is quite reasonable quality, there's no reason why that can't be used. It won't be the same as copying the master (were it still intact) but it will be more than sufficient for me. I reckon that song needs to be on there.

Alright, Ovation so you beat me to the "water under the bridge" line...

Wish You Were Here...yeah it is fantastic...but my favourite song is "Nice To Know You"

...I know...I was joking...

Nick: you missed a great discussion. Too bad because you aren't going to read it so there's no need to tell you about it.
