369 - Well Simes, you did ask!

Kyoto dream, you should be proud, it's a good bit of work. As Mr T will tell you and like Conch, I don't much like drum machines. However I do understand that sometimes needs must. With Kyoto dream though, I don't think much is lost because the ear is drawn more to the almost haunting tones of the guitar work. Great stuff.

Keep rocking

Steve.

Picked up a few things yesterday... anyone here see or have Gary Moore & Friends - One Night In Dublin - Tribute to Phil Lynott? I haven't watched too much yet, but it's really good. Too bad they didn't play a little more. Also, picked up the Led Zepplin 2 Disc DVD set...don't need to even say anything about that. And, Vinnie Moore - The Collection. Almost bought a bunch of other stuff, but didn't want to spend too much when I didn't even find what I was looking for.

962 - I don't think you got what I said....quote

hmmm kyoto dream....tried again....but its just not simonified....good...but just not simonified!

Notice the good in the middle there....

All I was saying was that on your soundclick you have a very unique sound....hence the simonified ...which is a big compliment coz that can be quite hard to do make something unique to you...in fact I was just reading an article about David Gilmour in which he says

"The fingers aren't very fast, but I think I am instantly recognisable. I can hear myself and just know that it's me and other people do to"

Its the same with your stuff...true I haven't heard your other sides and I dont know you....I don't know David Gilmour either...but for the most part your tunes are recognizable as your style same as him.

It would be nice to hear your other stuff.....as I said I think Kyoto Dream is good and I'm sure all your other stuff is too....at the end of the day

you are a great guitar player :-)

Sorry if I upset you...you sounded most annoyed in your last post :-(

Hugs Satriella xx

Addam Fox - yes I am very excited....but I have no idea what you just said to me....hehe

Delfino Pie - How is the job hunting going....any good yet?...I think there is a time difference thing going on here....I said 16 days to go this morning...sunday...and I am going on the 20th to London....yep there is 15 days for you coz your going a day earlier than me...clear as mud?

PaulEMoz - When are you going to see Joe?.....and yes...why not start learning...I am sure there are plenty of people on here who can give you some pointers....they are really nice...just like JOE!

Gotta Have Joe - Yep I just freaked is something I think I will know all about very shortly!....lol

Hugs to all satriella xx

DCK: Commercial jingles?!?!? that's killer!! You're going to have to incorporate your cool twisted style into the sound. It would be great to have a kid watching saturday morning cartoons, and then have a cube tune pop up under a cerial commercial to warp their fragile little minds haah! That would be great!

Guitarmeister - the Gary Moore Phil Lynott Tribute dvd has some great tracks on there and it's good to see them being played live again.

I keep trying to convince my band to do more Thin Lizzy but struggling at the minute! It's hard to get a harmony guitar sound when your the only guitar player! The live version of Whiskey In The Jar on the tribute dvd from Eric Bell is excellent.

The Led Zeppelin double dvds have some fantastic footage on them - I watched both in one sitting and loved some of the really early stuff.

Satriella - I'm (we're) going to see Joe on the 17th. Looking forward to it a lot, for one reason or another I haven't been to see a show for over year now.

As for playing... well, if I do decide to learn, I don't really have to look much further than my dad! After 45 years of playing, I'm sure he'll be able to give me lots of valuable pointers! :D

ok, i have a question for you guys....now, i dont want to upset any one who has lost loved ones...but im just curious.

if you are dyin and theres one last Satriani song you can listen to, what would that song be and why?

mine would be Rubina, and i pick that because to me, that song seems like Joe is telling some of his life with Rubina, and it would just remind me of all the beautiful times i shared with my love one (if i have one, haha. ) and it was the first Satriani song i heard.

i know that it was the first one i heard cause my dad told me....haha.

Joe i have been listenin to you sence i was born! i couldnt go a day without ya either!

ovation1, yeah the Metropole Orkeste thing is cool, I wouldn't mind hearing some of what Terry Bozzio did with them!

Stevee T, Suzie2000, michelle, Captain Steve, cosmic_ape,

thank you all very much for listening and for the detailed feedback! Pooling together all the comments it seems, to me, that you lot are hearing what I was hearing in my head.....that you are all able to get the concept and general vibe of the tune, which means it's basically done what I wanted it to do.

Sometimes you can just jam out a tune and it has no particular meaning or imagery to go with it, it's just a tune, but sometimes it's carefully constructed because there's some sort of concept or image behind it, and I think if a tune manages to succesfully convey the concept in your head then it goes a long way to showing people various sides of your personality. I'm pretty sure a lot of you will understand what I mean!

Stevee T, thanks for asking bro! Here - Kyoto Dream

Captain Steve, yeah Pink Floyd was cool.....I could hardly claim to be a big fan or anything, but used to listen to it a lot when I was a kid 'cause my dad would play it in the car quite often, especially The Division Bell, there's some great tunes on there. Though come to think of it, I haven't properly sat and listened to any Pink Floyd for 7 or 8 years! :-/

Satriella, no really, I did get what you said. I know you said it's "good but it's not simonified".

My post to you was not saying "why don't you like my tune" 'cause whether you do or you don't doesn't matter to me, there's no obligation either way.

I was just trying to point out that I personally feel that it actually is "simonified", if that's the word we're gonna use....

And the feedback from everybody who took another listen of the tune seems to support this. If it wasn't "simonified" then nobody would have understood it, and there would have been lots of people saying "errr....I don't really get it".
