Not sure if your asking or telling bro,lol but i,ll try & reply all the same.I dont like the word shred, it undermines many artists that have brought great food for thought to the table,YJM being one, i,m not going on a huge spewl of names with what & who have done what for guitar, most here know the story & as for where it is going, i have no idea but Shawn Gibson is bringing great things to the Metal Train, as is our Clarky, was really refreshing hearing Pauls last work, the Metal train changes track at last for a better destination!

If i may sidetrack a little....I gave up on rock guitar sounds some years ago in a bid to try & do something different. The main reasons for which, people "on a majority" outside of the Rock/Metal domain that have no idea about elec guitar instrumental music seem to prefer a more gentle acoustic timbre in guitar tone & seem to frown on the elec guitar as if its some kind of satanic nightmare, forget the late night jazz jam sesh eg with the JS Ibanez, bring the fat Jazz model, that is worrysome to me, kids want to learn to improv well live "a lesson in itself" in a jazz setting & many have the rock guitar kit, so i still take the elec to folky/Jazz sessions when i can, to get across its not that bad which i hope in turn will give some of these kids a much needed live gig drug, i have on occasion been "shut out the company" without having played a note, listening to the mutters "whats that weird looking contraption doing here etc " & they wernt talkin bout me bud lol, the future of guitar as we watched earlier is in their hands, its up to us to take care of it for them so that they may find greener pastures & less closed doors

Zen:LMFAO, that it is.Old & without future? Try saying that to Les Paul,he would make a joke of all the shredders, lol, One being on his birthday after Al Di M took to the stage. His comments "gee Al, the folks are really goin back home hummin that one" lol, i nearly pissed myself.Sorry have great respect for Mr Di Meola but that was funny. On another note t speak,I was working with guitar sound all day yesterday & today, prep work for recording & i,ve boiled it down to just the VG-88 with the midi pickup, everything else has so much unwanted noise, sounds great heard back, feels unnatural when playing, really weird, will have y something soon, need to study more on this new form, adios for now bro, a kiss & hug t J from us

Hey Joe from way Downunder. I just picked up the 3rd G3 installment. Awesome as usual. But I was wondering if you ever thought of bringing the G3 to Australia? If there are any other Aussies here, drop Joe a quick note and let him you would like to see the show too. Thanks All.

mthead101...I'm not kidding....took lessons from Greg Howe for a while this Spring & Summer...it was shocking to be able to sit with this monster musician...and he's so humble, kind & considerate.

Greg even let me try out some of his new equipment...then asked ME MY opinion...which floored me...I was honored... just playing in front of him was a rush...we'd jam to stuff...where he'd play the rhythm, and I'd play the lead & vice versa...soooo inspiring to interact with someone of his stature...closest thing (I imagine) to what hangin' with Joe might be like....?

MasterYoda: I live near NYC, between Philly & NYC. If you get a gig there I'll come up to see your Band. I'd love to see you play. Keep us posted.

Suzie2000: I don't want to go to work tomorrow either. And we are supposed to get more snow.....sucks.

SteveeT: We missed you at BB Kings. We carried on, Yngwie Rocked the joint! He was on fire. As Ronnie said there was this guy hitting on me...he became quite annoying though. We were seated at a booth by the mixing boards I was on the end, he had me move in to sit next to talk with me. Then YJM comes on so I stand up on the seat & he's standing up in front of me!! Keeps getting in my face playing "air guitar" & singing "vocals". (he said he was a drummer but sings too) I didn't come to see this idjiot! So I finally said to him stand behind me it's cooler there. Hell, he was in my seat & I was getting pissed!! I didn't wait in line for 2 hours to stand behind him. They sat him & his buddy at our booth because we only had 3 people & they need at least 4 to a booth. Shoulda been there....but that's Ok, I can take care of myself. ;-)) I also made friends with the mixing guy Chris & the sound guy Casper.

Ovation: Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Yngwie. I couldn't find a parking spot so I missed 2 trains. I didn't get there till 4:30 and I didn't see Patrick till we were walking in @ 6:30. But it will happen next time. I shoulda stuck around at Philly, probably would've met him that night. They were kickin us out but Patrick was standing near me talking to some guys...oh well, next time. There were a lot of music/industry people there in NYC. I did get to show Patrick some of my Photos & gave him my card as well as Roy's CD. Ronnie also got to meet him. I'm going to email him to make sure he listens to the CD. He asked me how much I charge to photograph, I told him we'll talk. Very kuul. As I was leaving I ran into Mick Cervino the Bass player. He remembered me from G3-03 at the Beacon!! Wow. I met him at the Vailand Diner next door after the show. So we chatted for about 10 mins. I told him how great I thought YJM looks and asked him to tell him that, I think he looks 5 yrs younger. I asked him how he lost the weight, was it diet & exercise? Yes. Yngwie lost 50 pounds by cutting out the beer. He said he drank a lot of beer everyday....it wasn't doughnuts or food that made him fat. I'd heard he played tennis & Mick says yes, he plays tennis with him...at 1st he was afraid to beat him. lol. Cause he's YJM yah know...he was really nice. Mick wasn't on the last YJM tour (Rudy Sarzo was on Bass) cause he was working with his Band Violent Storm recording their CD. I think he said it will be out soon. He gave me his pick & email address so I will stay in touch with him. I also showed him some of my VAi photos & gave him one of my cards. I talked to him about photographing YJM in the future. He said he'd talk to YJM & April his wife about it. He also loved my work. I'm so glad I went to both shows. They were both incredible!! On the train ride home I made another friend, he was at the show too. He stood behind me by the bar, you couldn't miss me standing on the seat rockin to the music. LOL I was looking at my Guitar Player magazine, there was this great shot of EVH so he asked me what mag I had.....we started talking & I showed him a few of my photos. Nice guy. It's all good........

FabLawyerSBM: Ronnie, It was so great seeing Yngwie with you and Alda! I do hope we get together again soon. She's such a sweetheart, I think she's very kuul...she's got spunk! Thanks for celebrating with me. I'll email Patrick and ask what he thinks of Blue Bossa Phoenix.....;-)) I'm sure YJM will get to hear it, afterall they are on the same Bus. Oh, I've got tickets to see the Celtic Women at RadioCity Music Hall on St Patty's day with a g/f...you & Alda should go too!! They are just AMAZING!! The 1 girl is an incredible fiddle player. I saw them on TV and I was just blown away by their voices & the Music. Hopefully she'll be around if not you can join me & my friend Lynn. We may stay up for the weekend, we both love the city & shopping of course! hee-hee!

Hi everyone!

Sorry for being away for several days...but I've read the posts tonight so...I'm updated. Finally!! :-)

michelle, Satriella, 962, Stevee T, marimariSRV...sorry If I missed someone...so I've gotten some nice shiny comments ;-) :) haha glad you liked the EVO Vai review! yeah...I had a great time, a nice day of vacation in Vaiworld ;-) it was worth it...

Here's a pic of the funniest moment between Steve and Jeremy musical duel, we couldn't capture it on film in Madrid but I found it from the show of Vilnius, Lithuania:

http://images15.fotki.com/v228/photos/4/422735/2777134/03-vi.jpg

Photo taken by Shatune

When Jeremy hits Steve's head with the drumstick, it sounds a "knock on wood" sound around shaming that Steve's head is empty, it was hilarious! LOL

Rob310: "any idea when the dvd will come out??"

There aren't still any news about a release date...the only thing it's known from the latest Vai news is that the DVD won't be a full-concert DVD like "Live at the Astoria London". They've been filming for a DVD since the start of the US tour...many shows were filmed and recorded so it will include footage from many different venues and surprises! We must stay tuned :-)

bahduh, hi, I got your e-mails, I hope all is well, I'll reply later...have a nice day!

marimariSRV, hi Mari, happy belated birthday! your experience with Yngwie sounds great haha, cool review :-) Talk to you soon :-)

alexandrecaetano, hi Alexandre, thanks for your nice reply...I'll e-mail you later, have a nice day!

I saw Andy Timmons past Thursday as part of the Guitar Fest 2005. Absolutely amazing!

For those who don't know what Guitar Fest is, it's like a G3 in Spain. Tony Hernando, one of our best-known guitarists, organizes every year since 2003, this celebration of guitar, following Joe's example with G3, inviting international guitar players to tour Spain's main cities with him.

Guitar Fest 2003 had Tony Hernando, William Stravato and Andy Timmons.

Guitar Fest 2004 had Tony Hernando, Freak Kitchen with Mattias "IA" Eklundh and Richie Kotzen.

And this year's Guitar Fest had Tony Hernando with Mike Terrana and Andy Timmons for a second time. It's the first edition I attend and I'm nicely surprised. I'll post some comments and pictures later...I have to go to bed right now! I didn't notice the time, bye bye ;-)
