Back to electro-accoustic this morning.. & i have to conclude that all these struggles onto electric guitar & electric bass pay. My electro sounds electro.
I get a band as bass player.. cool.
good day.
M'gonna to mix a new song directly inspired from last Joe album : Bare Bones at the Edge of Town.

webmaster - Yes, I saw myself on the bonus DVD...thanks for including that; it was a nice surprise. :-) How did the rest of the performance footage from the SWTA shows turn out? Is Joe happy with it, and do you have any idea if more of it will be released sometime in the future? It'd be awesome to have video of Crushing Day, Hill Of The Skull, or Echo since those songs aren't played all that often... Is Joe happy with the rest of the footage?
And I didn't plan for this to happen, but I ended up wearing that same Satch t-shirt from that Roxy interview clip to the Hollywood GC performance and a few fans waiting in line recognized me from the DVD. I felt like MegaBoyd with his "Surf With Satch" SkyLiner toy from the LISF DVD for a minute... ;-)
And lastly, thanks for adding the new songs to the setlist tool...
Zinc Master - Buckethead isn't an "alter ego" of Paul Gilbert or any other famous guitar player. His real name is Brian Carroll, but I think the only thing that links that name to the guitar is a short writeup and photo that appeared in a guitar magazine at the start of his career.
fsantimauro - On the podcast for that track, Joe mentions that he's aware of the misspelling.
michelle - That place looks pretty cool...I love those old theater-style venues with the high ceilings. I don't know what it is about them, but the sound is always excellent. They don't make 'em like they used to...
lazermario - Ah, cool. I loved video games when I was younger, so of course I was a Super Mario Bros. fan. But for whatever reason I didn't see the movie until well after I had become a Satch fan. Sometimes I wonder what my reaction to that song would have been had I heard it a few years earlier, before I knew who Joe Satriani was.
Joe Satrini - I'll update my setlist here on the site sometime later today. I'll post another message when I do that.
But really quickly, from the new album I'm hoping for Musterion, Revelation, Out Of The Sunrise, Asik Veysel and Andalusia.
When I met Joe at the Guitar Center in Hollywood, I told him that I thought Out Of The Sunrise could be his next Cool #9 in a live situation...meaning it'd be great to stretch that out into a 10- or 15-minute jam that's a bit different every night. He told me he was thinking about it...so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Anyway, what about you? What are you hoping for in the set list?
Joeman9 - Awesome...thanks for sharing your videos. :-)
savoie2008 - That's a pretty solid playlist...a lot of those songs go together quite well.
BigBunny - The Club Joe package "upgrades" will likely be just like all the packages in the past, with all the perks, except they'll be about $25-$50 cheaper because they won't include a ticket (because you've all already bought them since they've been on sale for a while). There's nothing to be paranoid about...it should be an easy process.
Sobelanli - Thanks for stopping by the site. Do you know if there are any CDs available for purchase that contain any of Asik Veysel's music?
RockMeJoe - Richard, it was cool meeting you at Guitar Center. Keep in touch...it'd be nice to meet up again at the next Satch gig in the LA area...
ratiug67 - Joe visits the chat room on an occasional basis. I caught him in there a few times back in the SBM and ITLIS? days.
Well, I still have two pages or so to get through but it's late and I'm tired. I'll get to them later...
Good night, everyone...good morning, michelle. ;-)
...Austin...

This mix is a maze..
Have read somewhere that a good pop sound mix is supposed to get a general equivalent level... but.. but when i listen to classical music, often, the level changes.. & this is the expression of the different colors of emotion.
Have heard that modern compositions sound better with percusive section... i love percusive section.. i really love it... often, drummers are my fav partners when i play in band... but how many compositions for strings into classical music without percusive section?
I remember that Engine of Creation reduced the percusive section to the minimum.
Why not some modern comp about tone, & with no percussion?
It's a risk, of course.

Joe : Bare Bones at the Edge of Town is comin..
M'not sure about the mix.. but the MP3 is very unhappy for some frequencies.. & this piece, which gets 24 tracks, requires a serious EQ mastering. Obviously. The comp is not at all bare bones, but solos are.
enjoy.
Edit : sorry, crap cut.. comin..

Slan : hum.. sounds scaring.
About studio home... well, we all know it means freedom.
& i'm not yet happy with my last track.. but the whole line is done. It's rock, jazz & prog.. alterning voices of bass & guitar.. weird stuff.

Good Morning Satchaholics.....Got my cup of Joe goin'.....
maritime..... Thanks so much. What an awesome day it was. The shirt is from the SWTA 20th anniversary tour. Joe played just a couple cities for this anniversary and fortunetly for us he chose Chicago. Take Care....
joeman9..... The important issue is if you like the amp. Once you dial it in it's great. I to like the knobs on the JSX. They're very responsive ....meaning they change the tone with just a little tweak not like the amps of old where from 5 to 10 is not much of a difference. I got a Boss BCB-60 pedal board and Boss DD-3 last night. I'm back into pedals cuz' my Pod Pro is gone along with the effects it had....lol..... In my chain will be Whammy pedal,Vox Wah, Boss tuner,TS808, OC-1, Rev-3,Ch-3 and the DD-3. This is all I'll need playing Bues/Rock and Instrumental Rock. I haven't used pedals for a while so I'll be tweaking my brains out....lol..... Oh ! ! ! the toys we need......
