Just got my cd from Sony...although I heard it all yesterday..and I'm always surprised..having taking Joe's music to heart for nearly 20 years...all I can say is..it's no wonder he is such a highly respected guitarist among his peers..he is indeed one of the most expressive...there is..and there are many who are very good...Joe just seems to execute in a special way..that makes his very own voice..and that is what we should all be striving for...uniqueness..!! Great work again Joe...!! by the way...my disc is signed..many thanks Joe..

Hey Joe!!! Just wanted to say the new album is awesome! Very cool and very soulfull. I especially like the way you ended the album using the "Crowd Chant" Jam. I'd have to agree with you on that one being a fun one to perform live. Sounds like a good one to have either at the start or end of your setlist!! Looking forward to hopefully being able to see you play sometime this year. Stay cool and inspired.

Joe has been my number one guitarplayer since i first heard him around 1992. Too bad for me i live in sweden and have only been able to see him live once and that was when he played with Deep Purple at the sweden rock festival in 1994. Anyway, last week i found some videoclips of a 25 year old unknown but VERY great guitarplayer from Brazil named Oziel Filho (calls himself Ozielzinho). You just have to check out the videosection on his homepage at www.ozielzinho.com.br! If you don't want to check out all clips then at least check out the Yngwie Malmsteen cover of Far beyond the sun (not the live version) and the Re Minor Philarmonic! Of course Joe's still my number one, but this guy is definitely one of the greatest guitarplayers i've ever seen! I can't understand how a guy can play like that without being known all over the world, especially among guitarplayers. Imagine him at a G3 show, wouldn't that be great? Make it happen Joe! And do it in sweden!

AXEMAN: I will send you some specifics about my guitar playing and stuff via e-mail ....with your permission...of course. This web site says only 3 year experience, but that's just the past few years where I've been applying my self to learning from dvd's and teachers such as Tony Burnett, and John McCarthy from Rockhousemethod.com. I originally started when I was 14years old. I'm 47 now. I'm a 25 year retired? chef. Yes Pleasanton is close....going to spitzers music to meet/greet with Joe? 1931 market street concord. THE HAWK: Yea, best of luck with working with/for Joe. I've only lost a toe, but would play bass for Joe, If'in' I could do well at a rehersal/tryout. Love that rasberryJam DeltaV! Yes I play both bass and guitar. JOE: There is plenty of buzz out there for your new album! Great stuff Meastro! Randell

SCOTT WEILAND AND DUFF MCKAGAN RESPOND TO AXL ROSE

Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan and singer Scott Weiland have responded to a press release issued last week by Guns N' Roses frontman W. Axl Rose. Rose lambasted his former Guns bandmates, McKagan and Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash, claiming that the latter called Weiland a "fraud" and McKagan "spineless" in an early morning meeting at Rose's house last year. McKagan told us that he would rather not get involved in the situation at all: "I think, you know, a lot of it's really unfortunate, very difficult. I've always just wanted to make great music and that's what I plan on doing. As far as a rebuttal to what he said, or what Slash has said, I won't get involved in a war of words, you know. People say all kinds of stuff and I'm not going to be one of them." Scott Weiland was not as diplomatic. In a posting at Velvet Revolver's official web site, Weiland called Rose a "fat, Botox-faced, wig-wearin' f***." Weiland wrote that Rose had an "unoriginal, uncreative little mind, the same mind that had to rely on its bandmates to write melodies and lyrics -- who's the fraud now?" Weiland also slammed Rose for taking more than a decade to make the still-unreleased Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy, saying, "How many albums have you put out, man, and how long did it take the current configuration of this so-called 'band' to make (the album)?...We toured our album over a year and a half. How many shows have you played over the last 10 years?" The last Guns N' Roses tour, in 2002, ended abruptly after just a handful of shows. Weiland concluded by calling Rose a "frightened little man who once thought he was king."

A Velvet Revolver spokesperson told MTV.com that Slash would issue his own response within days.

Rose's initial press release accompanied his countersuit against Slash and McKagan, who have sued Rose over licensing, publishing and royalty issues.

McKagan told us that Velvet Revolver will enter the studio on April 10th to begin recording its sophomore album.

death cube - After I posted, I thought about it and ... it only makes sense it was you! I just started posting here. Had to chime in since Joe is one of my favorite artists of all time and since I am seeing him in NJ on 4/18. I hope I win the contest to meet him backstage. I'll post a review of the new CD soon. I picked it up and only got to hear the first few songs. So far I love it. Stay tuned.

Rock on, PEOPLE!
