Burly : thx.

To say all, i tried during several years to build a contemporean blues band, & almost found the team, but when the perspective of festival has seriously started to come, the peeps renonced. It has been a very hard disappointment, after so much time of work. I decided to focus onto studio work.

Currently workin' onto rock prog album with a singer woman.

But Blues is still around my life.

Saw Kellie Rucker Band on stage last friday. She was in a very good night. Here, Kellie Rucker with Pelle Lindberg Band. As you know, a youtube video can't give the life feel of a concert.

Well, tonight, Jeff Beck concert. Probably one of the greatest musical night of my life. I hope he's in a good day.

I'm new to this site(hello!). This is my first post on it(hello, again!!). Got into music when I was about 14 and when I was 16 I started to hear good things about some guy called Joe Satriani. One day I was in a music store and found one of his albums(the extremist) and have never looked back. Love his playing and at one point even mamaged to get enough money together to buy one of his signature guitars. Live in San Fransisco is my favourite live DVD of his and even though I've had it for about 5 years, I still watch it about once a week. Most my other friends who are into music don't have a clue who he is, and even those that do don't appreciate how amazingly awesome he is. Nice to see a site full of people who get how good he is. Anyway, that should do it for a first post.

P.s. Hope Coldplay get what they have coming to them, they totally ripped off "if I could fly".

Scuba : in my knowledge, Vai used to play Morley, & Satch, Cry Baby.

So..

Cry Baby is probably the more vintage one.

The best is to try all these pedals, & feel which one you prefer.

Austin - re our recent tweets, Triple J radio here just finished their poll of the Hottest 100 of all time (they do it every year for the Hottest 100 of the year but this time it was of all time) and Jeff Buckley came in at both no. 3 and no. 7 here's the full list which is amazing.

500,00 votes cast online, the average age of voters was 21. (I was pulling that average up :0).

Chee, the part you sent was my fav part of the entire series. When Joe says "Down the drain" and moves his hand and holds the last note, I just about fall on the floor. I already have that in my phone somewhere, but I'll be replaying the one you sent me to entertain myself at work when the fucktards start gettin' t meh. We have 2 on vacation this week, so being 2 down is always fun...not. Lawd gimme strenff!

Skippy, what would we do without yer overnight reporting. Yer a gem. lol!

Happy Monday people!

Zen - How was the concert?

Michelle - Those guys in the video are the biggest bunch of meatheads I seen recently. We have skunks that are practically pets. Some people call us the "skunk whiperers". Anyone with a working brain knows you don't chrage a skunk.

michelle - Thanks for the skunk...argh. ;-)

Before we moved earlier this year (and before I left), there was this skunk that loved to sneak into the garden next to the newsroom. And it always seemed to wait until just before deadline to stink everything up, so we wouldn't be able to take a few minutes to find it and shoo it away.

carguy12 - Hi...welcome! Tell us a bit about yourself...
Latin me - You can probably find the manual for the pedal online, if you look around on the Vox site...
JimathyIrish85 - Welcome to you as well! It's cool to hear you still like the LISF DVD, after all these years. I was there the night it was recorded...what a great show.
Skippygirl - Thanks for the Chickenfoot links.

It's always cool to hear Highway Star, but Joe is playing the solo differently now and it bugs me. I can't call him/it wrong because Joe was IN Deep Purple and can do what he wants, but I think it sounds better when he waits until the second time through to double up the bends. The section starts at about 3:12 in the video you posted and at about 3:42 in this video from The Roxy.

It sounds like Sammy is singing the call and response part wrong (early), which is probably why Joe changed the way he does the solo. Argh. Does this bug anyone else?

Thanks for that top 100 list, as well...it's interesting to see Jeff Buckley has four songs on the list, while Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd only have two each. I disagree with Nirvana and Rage Against The Machine being 1 and 2, but it's cool to see such a varied list...

mowlie_2000 - The photos on that page are dead...try again?
death cube k - Welcome back...did you go somewhere (I don't remember), or just take some time off?
Patrick N - Another newbie...? Welcome to you, too!
Listening to: Lacuna Coil - Shallow Life (current song: The Pain)

I'm looking forward to your review, and If possible, extended hints of the setlist he's played. He will probably make changes from one gig to the following, but it will give a conspicuous clue of what I'm gonna listen next week.
Enjoy JB ! (I don't mean the whiskey, but on that particular concern I leave it up to you)

Do the Stu- After revisiting the post-VH Sammy and FITP, I have to agree with you on Sammy and the guitar. I like the facet his playing adds to anything I have heard. I can say I like Sammy's soloing because he is probably the closest to my style of playing than anyone else I know of. He noticeably picked up a few things from Eddie but not so much it changed his style. He is not a magnificently showy player but he is solid and stylish.

You have to wonder about this tour and it's longevity. I for one can see the anticipation building in other parts of the world specifically South America where Joe has a huge dedicated fan base. The other guys are not really used to touring at length in some of these places. I for one think Joe is sitting back and saying to the guys"wait until we hit Brazil". or Brasil as they say down there. I see this thing going for a while. I may be wrong but I hope not. And in the meantime they can work on the next record. And of course an Australian tour for my friends there.
