HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE!!!! HOW AWESOME THAT YOU WILL BE IN CHICAGO AND CLEVELAND IN OCTOBER. I WILL BE TRYING TO COME SEE YOU IN ONE OF THOSE CITIES. AGAIN, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Hello to everyone again!!! Been so busy with my jobs and my running races (I'm in a track club, so I do a lot of running). I am going to be dead-dog tired in the next couple of months because I have back-to-back half-marathons coming up soon and my workplace will be getting really busy.
I only need two more CDs and then I will have all of Joe's music and DVDs. Just need to get Engines of Creation and Additional Creations. Does anybody know where I can get both of those copies?
How cool that Joe will be in Chicago and Cleveland in October. Now I have to get tickets to see him. I would really like to get "Meet & Greet" tickets.
Take care everybody and again, Happy Birthday Joe "Satch" Satriani. Glitz Man saying Deuces/Peace.

"I write based on my experiences and try to keep the connection to
the emotion and place." ~ Joe Satriani
Virtuoso guitarist Joe "Satch" Satriani (1956-) was born on this day
in Westbury, New York. Inspired by the death of Jimi Hendrix,
Satriani played the guitar with passion as a teen.
Working as a gardener and bricklayer, Satriani began teaching guitar
to earn money, mentoring many accomplished artists including Steve
Vai and Metallica's Kirk Hammett. He released his first album, Not
of This Earth in 1986, baring his spirited style of jazz rock with
distortion.
"I'm just inspired by everyday life," Satriani once said. "I find it
very wondrous. There is so much to reflect upon, to write about, to
dream about, and to hope for."
A wizard with speed and guitar techniques his highly-regarded albums
include Surfing With the Alien (1987), The Extremist (1992) and Time
Machine (1993).
In keeping the music alive for others, Satriani has created his own
line of Ibanez guitars and formed G3, a touring group to showcase
the synergistic talents of guitarists Vai, Eric Johnson, John
Petrucci, and other greats.
"My ultimate goal is to continue playing forever," Satriani said. "I
hope to ...always be searching to express the life I lead by taking
those experiences and turning them into music. Hopefully, the guitar
will be my ongoing instrument of expression."
~~ Stay true to your emotions and place.

Matt: when you put it like that...I'd settle for guitar 'skills' on it's own. =D
Revan: I live in a small village East of Leyland, Lancashire...not saying which though =D Photography is a wonderful means of expression I think, although I just like taking nice pics. Check out my
Flickr photostream for a very select number of photos.(most of my good ones are on another computer which is kinda inaccessible)

Igneousiceman - You're not allowed to talk about that Ibanez anniversary video / concert in my presence. I'll explain why in my reply to REVAN 2008 below...
Do you know who Michael Hedges is? He recorded a really cool acoustic version of All Along The Watchtower about 20 years ago...
REVAN 2008 - here's where I live as seen through Google maps. I live in the building to the left of "A"...if you zoom in, you can see my blue car parked behind it.
This concert in the Ibanez video was in the building just to the right of "B". It was a private event, so it's unlikely that I would have been able to get in, but still...it hurts that it was so close. ;-)
In Long Beach, if you scroll south a bit from my apartment you can see the Queen Mary in the water. I guess that's kinda neat...it's not as cool as Bonzo's grave though. Thanks for posting that...I hadn't seen any photots of it.
cheese101 - Ah...thanks for the info about the Warfield and its, ummm, surroundings. I guess it gives new meaning to Come On Baby, Borg Sex, Slow And Easy and Belly Dancer... ;-)
Glitz Man - You should be able to find Engines Of Creation in any CD store. Additional Creations is an EP that was released for free with some early copies of the album...your best bet now is to look on Ebay. Expect to pay $75-$100 for that, though.
Listening to: Rush - Power Windows (current song: Territories)

IGNEOUSICEMAN- I saw Runrig in concert over 40 times but never got the chance to meet them, their Guitarist's name is Malcolm Jones and he is very good. Also saw Dougie McLean a few times supporting Runrig, not a lot of people know that it was him who wrote Caledonia, which was a big hit over here for Frankie Miller. DO THE STU- noticed that you're a fan of Live, who i've got to say are one of the most under-rated bands of all time, anyone who dosen't have Throwing Copper and Bird of Pray in their collection dont know what their missing, i managed to see them a couple of times when they've been to Glasgow, the last time they were here the gig was sold out, so i waited outside for an hour and a half before i found someone with a spare ticket. It was worth the wait. P.S. happy birthday Joe, same day as my Mom, so many happy returns to the both of you.
