Well it turns out hubby's old guitar is OK - a Canora made in Korea "model 750". I bought a $29 tuner because I tried the 5th fret method for tuning and frankly couldn't tell up from down.

Got the guitar out of storage last Friday and have done 3 practice sessions since. Trying to get the sound of each chord right and trying to focus on switching between chords A,D,E, G,Em - I knew it would be hard but sheesh! But the fingers are not feeling so sore anymore which is good.

I tried the songs in the book and then put the CD in that comes with the book - they play the songs how they are meant to be - OMG I am really bad. I also tried alternate picking of Old McDonald which was fun.

So no Satch boogie for a very, very long time............

Good grief, Superdave. She said:

She does not yet know what she will do with the money.

"I've always wanted a Corvette, but I don't think I'll buy one. I'll stick to a small car. I might go to Mohegan Sun," she said, referring to the casino in Connecticut. "I'm going to go home and sit and think."

Hey granny, why not buy yourself a JS Black Dog or 20th anniversary instead of the Corvette, or the casino, you'd get the same use out of them!

Randell, I bet making that was fun! I don't know which one you are though. What color shirt were you wearing, and what part of the movie are you in? Ya know, you can tell I'm a mom...the fight scene by the bay windows...I was thinking "If you kids break that window I'm gonna stick my foot in yer asses!" LOL!

SupaaDupaaDave, why does it always take till yer one foot out the door to win a nice lottery like that? Let 'em win at 30 - NO. Let 'em win at 40 - NO. Let 'em win at 50 - NO. Let's make 'em wait till their closing in on 80!! Just doesn't seem fair. At least you get to leave monies...if the nursing home doesn't get it all.

Michelle--Thanks for the 1940s music. Nice to revisit.

Skippygirl--You are on the road to guitar ecstasy!! Just take one step at a time.

Ozzy_Fudd--Toy boy? Are you volunteering? Would you like someone to "borrow" you? I didn't know you had the time for other pursuits with all your wabbit chasing...lol!!

Hey Joe, I've always wondered. What bands do you listen to when your listening to music. Do you listen to your own stuff or do you just play away on your guitar?

I heard somewhere that it was bad luck to listen to your own stuff, like your albums and such.

Thanks.

Hey to everyone here, happy new year to all.

Can't wait for that new Live in Paris concert to come out and Chickenfoot!

But in the meantime I wonder if someone might be able to help me figure something out.

There are a couple of web casts up on this link below:

http://www.foreverjoe.com/main.html

Under the "Media" section there's a video titled "Joe Satriani - Live in Anaheim 2005." I'd like to capture that one off onto my computer hard drive, if that's possible, so I can watch it on a larger screen than my computer monitor. Plus I could watch it with friends. It's a great web cast with some of my favorite songs played live!

Any comments or idea's, software, programs that anyone would know of that would allow me to do that?

I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance, WhammyFreak

GGirl: If you like what you see/hear, then try and get hold of one of their DVDs, they really are quite an amazing band to watch.
anibur: You should hear me in the flesh...it would probably be a dissapointment, I sound boringly normal. :)
ibanez_god: Wanted to try diving once, didn't for some reason. Pity really, sounds like you make a fair living from it!
WhammyFreak: If what Mr.Shroom said doesn't work, then get this addon for firefox. Oly work if you have firefox though...

Thanks for the suggestion, but there's no DVD for this concert or I would buy it.

Slans, all I see is a part of that concert, Moroccan Sunset (awesome track, Joe, make more like it) I can't find the whole two hour concert on youtube.

This concert is from 2005, and not the Live In Anaheim of the Super Colossal tour, of which I have bought the DVD.

I just want this one for my collection cuz it's such a great concert.

I already have one from the Strange Beautiful Music tour, a full two hour concert, Joe plays more RARE tracks LIVE!!! Awesome concert, I asked a long time ago to see him play Why live, he did in that one, I am so happy!!!

But anyway, any help that I could get from you all would be appreciated.
