JazzyDuder: it is called "Every Breath You Take". And it is about the world f*****g itself up the backside. It is amazingly scary that people get/got married to that tune. And it has about as much to do with stalkers as Ted Nugent has to do with animal rights.

Do The Stu - "Ugh...I don't like the sound of Joe's vocals on this album. When he sings, I want to hear him SING...like on I Believe."

"I Believe" is definitely Joe's best song with vocals - great guitar, great lyrics, solid singing. But this is a rea vocal gem for Joe. Joe's guitar is so powerful (not just in volume) that he really can't match it with his singing. For example, "Ride" might be a lot better song if James Hetfield was singing it. At least on these new songs, Joe is doing what he can (singing lower, adding a lot of production) to match the mood of the guitar.

"I don't hear ITLIS?'s similarities to UWSG."

It's just the opening few melody notes (on the clip), and the last note is played over a different chord (~1:16 on UWSG), and it's in a diff. key as well, but I immediately though of the song when I first heard it. It's probably just this section of the song - it's really tough to judge w/ only a 30 sec. clip.

The new site blew me away when I first saw it today. Great job guys. Now all you need is a better message board. Can't wait for the new album. The sound samples on sonymusic.com sound FRIKKIN' AWESOME!!! and I'm going to order an autographed copy as soon as pay day comes Thursday!!! Joe rulz. Also love the G3 CD and DVD I've been watching and listening to all the time. I especially liked Joe's live rendition of "Starry Night". He just seems to be getting better and better. He definitely held his own on the jams. Hey, Joe, remember these: http://www.ofoto.com/PhotoView.jsp?&collid=571859731103&photoid=763083831103 and http://www.ofoto.com/PhotoView.jsp?&collid=571859731103&photoid=635153831103 I'm on the right and my brother is the cross-eyed one. :p Take care and keep the music comin'! One more thing, what are Joe's plans in the coming months other than the new G3 tour? Any special appearances or projects either in person or on disc or video?

ok will someone explain this playing in every Key thing to me? i am practicing some of the harmonized scale lessons from Joe's guitar secrets book and he says to learn them in every key...i'm confused by how if you want to change keys all you have to do is move your hand to the note and play the same thing...but my dad tells me that its all different...this doesnt make much sense at all so if you need me to reword it i will give it my best shot. thanks

Bob

I keep listening to the 30 seconds of Gnaahh over and over again. I like everything about it - the melody, accompaniment, the guitar tone, the Tony Levin-like bass, the drum break. This should be the next single (unless of course, at 31 seconds, the whole song just falls apart :-))!

Jelly Man - Yeah, my timing is quite loose when I play lead. I'm fine with rhythm guitar, I think... Regarding being "better" in a one-on-one, I have a nasty suspicion I might be one of those unfortunate people that suffers from 'Red Light Syndrome' since I can play some beatiful takes when I'm not recording. It's actually very annoying!!!

i am really sad, cause i realized that you are not going to come to Greece with the G3 band in this summer. maybe you should think about it and make some changes to your "G3 tour in europoe 2004" program. May be you should add Greece toy your program. Well, i'm waiting for you,me and 10000 more Greek people!

Joe: the new album sounds great, and I think the digital home recording process you've been doing since EOC is finally sounding every bit as good as some of the older mic-ed up in the studio albums like CP. Not to say that EOC or SBM sounded bad, but they still felt a little direct or bright to me, but this one is totally convincing tonaly from what I can tell. There's some definite Jeff Beck inflections to some of the lead lines....cool. It's gonna be killer!

Is There Love In Space?

Jazzy Boy - Ummm, no. A lot of people here were talking about how cool Prince was ever since he appeared at this year's Grammy Awards.

mischievous - That notice is there so people don't sign up for several shows with the intention of only buying tickets if they win backstage passes. This causes problems because some shows sell out before backstage passes are awarded.

I list myself as attending my shows as soon as tour dates are released. If I were ever unable to get tickets, I would remove my name from the list.

Stu Clone - Legacy is correct. The "Anthology" releases for Joe and Steve were put out on Legacy records. Sony owns Legacy... It's kinda like Aerosmith being signed to Sony, but releasing their music through Columbia Records.
gruskada - Yeah...I listened to ITLIS? a few times after I read your post and heard a few similarities. Part of the melody and an entirely separate part of the background chords sound like two entirely different parts of UWSG...haha.

I guess I can hear it now that it's been pointed out to me, but I would have never made that observation on my own. It's not that big of a deal to me...after all, there are only 12 notes. ;-)

sword1 - Why do you have to wait until you get a paycheck before preording ITLIS? It's a preorder...just use your credit card.

...Austin...

Hey Joe I'm banking on the small chance that you read this post. For I Like The Rain, did you do the same voice effect that was way back when on Look My Way? I love the sound. And how do you say "Gnaahh"? not being stupid but I keep trying to tell my dad about the songs sounds and I can't convey the idea of that song without a name. Anyway if you read it thanks. If not well can't say I didn't try.

Do The Stu ..gonna hit ya upside the head wif a big fish.. :o)

Stu Clone thanks I was hoping that an 8 ohm cabinet would work!....my amp is an 80 watt combo...2 12" celestian 70/80's ....they make an extension cabinet for it...but it also only has 2 12's... the manual does not say if it is min or max on the 4ohm ......it just says you can hook up a 4ohm cabinet to it or unhook the onboard speakers and hook up 2 4ohm cabinets...

Ethn I just bought a Traynor ycv80 combo....and the problem I'm having is with my boss dd-3.....the repeats come back very fuzzy and noisy not clear at all....and I did not have this with my old solid state amp...

Joe have a good trip and eat some fine food while you're in moscow, I'm sure they have some fine things that we aren't used to here!...oh, and easy on the vodka!!! :o) I understand they like to drink it with meals, much like the italians like wine with their meals...but, then you should know that ...lol....
