Hey man, it is cool being in a band with such talented musicians!

Hey, can't you some dates in Algeria, even with the solo band?

U2 tickets go on sale tomorrow for some of their US shows. They're playing the Rose Bowl in Pasadena...I was considering going until I saw the best seats (GA) are $251.50. I'd hate to see the service charge on that ticket...ugh.

I'll hold out and hope that they do another leg later this year or early next year.

burly - I've never heard of Jon Butcher, but I like that song...thanks for sharing it.

Do you know much Porcupine Tree? This song reminds me of the solo work of John Wesley, their rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist.

You can check out his music on his Myspace page. Maybe start with The King Of 17...?

cosmic_ape - While at John Wesley's MySpace page (see above) I saw that he's playing at the Musician's Institute on 6/24. Is there any chance of me being able to go to that show? I don't remember whether you said some of them are open to the general public. Any chance you could look into it for me?
michelle - The Hall of Fame induction aired the same night of the ceremony, on Fuse instead of VH1. I actually forgot it was Saturday until I heard something about it that day at work. I bet you can find most of the show if you do some digging on YouTube.

And about Train Kept A Rollin', I'm most surprised that Jimmy Page didn't take a solo! I don't know why not. There's a moment when Joe Perry steps aside, but...nothing. It looks like his strap broke earlier in the song...someone came out to help him. Maybe that had something to do with it?

Italy- Praying for your safety and recovery. Hope all is as good as can be expected.

So many people are facing adversities due to illness, tragedies and financial instability. Wishing you all the best.

Austin- Jon Butcher got a lot of airplay with this one on some of the rock stations, I am guessing depending on the market. Very clear vocalist and a good player. I believe he changed to Jon Butcher Axis after this time or maybe before, anyone who is familiar with him correct me if I'm wrong.

Ian Moore was another great talent who got quite a bit of airplay. Not sure why he was limited in success. If you remember the link last week I posted the SLINGBLADE scene where the"band" was getting kicked out of the house, Ian Moore played the part of Randy who suggested to Doyle that they needed to practice which is what sets Doyle off. Check out this live version of How Does it Feel? and also check out the studio version in the related videos.

I like def leppard.....does that mean I'm into cock rock??? Strange!

My Steve and I saw The Flying Scotsman last night......great movie. I can relate to his situation with despicable monster bullies.....shameful! First in elementary school.......briefly in high school and then the corporate world......twisted upside down goons of the lie!! Depression sucks the life out of good people, damn it!!!

Austin, June is not even posted yet at M.I... they don't think that far ahead... But I haven't seen performances open to the public that much... there was one with Marty Friedman last December, but that was the only one since I've been here... I'm gonna have to hide in a drum case or something ;)...

scubadaz - I REALLY like U2, and it's quite an experience to see them live. I saw them twice in 2005, just down the street from where I would see and interview Satch a few weeks later. I was talking to him about the show, and it was one of the few times I've seen his face genuinely light up. Not that he fakes it other times, but you know what I mean...

burly - I don't recognize the name Ian Moore, but How Does It Feel? sounds VERY familiar. So I guess I've heard it before...it's not a cover, is it?
Guitarvibes - Awesome!

I'm seeing their Unwigged and Unplugged tour in a few weeks...it's not the same, I know, but it should still be very cool.

Speaking of Def Leppard, someone called a radio station back in the early days of the band when they were first getting airplay, and with a classic redneck southern accent ( which I kinda have too) asked them to play that new guy "Dale Flippard"

My views on Hammet are that he is very creative and shows it on material like just about anything from the Black Album. I was just not a fan of the speed metal days. Of course I was into hair metal, had long hair (when I had hair) I even had a mullet and wore parachute pants, bandanas and japanese print shirts ( in the high school days) I was in to Kiss, Quiet Riot , Motley Crue, Ted Nugent, AC/DC,Foghat and too many to name.

I really do appreciate U2 for their musicality and creativity. I never went out and bought a U2 album,..I don't know why. I guess they got enough airplay to provide all I needed. I'd have to say that I do like U2.

How Does it feel is an Ian Moore original. Austin you probably heard it on the radio. Check out the studio versions. He is good friends with Billy Bob Thornton which is how he ended up on Slingblade. Ian is a little "out there" but hey that's OK.

I'm going to bed early folks, I have been out in the cold wind all day. I wish you all a good week.

Has any T2Jers from Italy checked in? I didn't notice as I glanced through the posts rather quickly. TTFN

Ozzy_Fudd--Thanks for the interview with Joe about his pedals and a little about the ChickenFoot tour.....It's gonna be an interesting summer.

Cube---Interesting to hear that the Edge is a guitarist behind the singer and not a "gunslinger" type who needs to be out in front all or most of the time. Nothing wrong with either kind...just different ways/styles of performing.

What happened to all the sisters in this forum?

Michelle and Tracie where are you? Is Anibur around? Skippygirl---I'm getting to know more chords by heart and getting the changes........slowly......slowly.

Satriella--What's happening?

Glitz Man--I'm doing better this week, but I still wasn't able to see my psychiatrist today.....He called again at about 1 this afternoon to say (yet another) emergency came up and he had to cancel all his afternoon appointments! That's the second time I have had to reschedule an appointment with him because of an emergency! He wants me to call him back tomorrow to reschedule! If psychiatists weren't so difficult to find here, I would find someone else. Tomorrow, Steve and I see a neuropsychiatrist and his epileptologist at Stanford.

As for Joe's CDs....I have 15....I erroneously said I had 14 in an earlier post. I DON'T HAVE Dreaming #11....I think it has been discontinued, The Beautiful Guitar (this is also hard to find), G3 Live 1997, Additional Creations, G3 Live in Tokyo (DVD), and Surfing with the Alien---Legacy Edition.

BTW--Glitz Man---I can use all the help I can get finding the 6 CDs/DVDs I posted previously. Amazon was no help.

Guitarvibes---The Marc Resch book is getting more interesting as I read about how the Dutch made their imprint on early America, the Hudson River valley, New York and New Jersey. Amazing.....your ancestors!
