Mikey, your one one the most mellow-cool people on this site, so for you to lose your cool is very, VERY uncommon. It happens to all of us, but maybe now that Joe has given us some good news and the echoing word "CHILL", that's what we all need to do. Get our thoughts back to music, laughing, and the cool family vibe that brings us here every day.

A great friend of Joe's (and mine) I have the pleasure of knowing once said, and I quote ~

"Life is a bit of a circus, cause you can't control all of the animals at once,..But the essence of a dream is not to control all of the animals ~ just one."

I hope he doesn't take offence that I quoted him here, but it feels like the right thing to do at this time. This is from one of the wisest men I've ever met, and I'm pretty damn sure he knows what he's talking about. Every once in a while, I forget these words, well not forget, just misplace them in my brain. I try hard to live by them, but I don't always succeed. We can only control ourselves and our own thoughts and actions. That's the bottom line really.

I never thought Joe had the potential to do that. Though, he was justified. Zach was kind of overdoing it.

MariMariSRV I e-mailed back. Thank you so VERY much for a second chance. I'm not good at wording, well, anything. That's why I envy your ability to express yourself to such an amazing extent. Look forward to talking to you more!

EDIT: I just realized! Joe posted I think three times in two days! HELLO JOE!(all together now "Hey that rhymes!")(They do that to me in school!)

Mick85?: Joe fascination with outer world objects comes naturally. He is the alien himself. Once upon a time he used to be an alien in some distant planet. But he was just too good at playing some wierd alien instrument that they threw into earth into a crystal ball. They were jealous. He landed on earth on a surf board.

He actaully still thinks of himself as an alien; thats why he shaved his head bald. I cannot stop admiring Joe for what he has done with music. I hope he is still warming up with his music.

Even Steve Vai longs to be an alien. Alien Love secrets???

And it is remarkable what Joe, Steve and Paul have done with Ibanez guitars. I often find people buying Fenders only because Hendrix, SRV, Clapton and else use(s/d) them. The only reason why Gibsons and Fenders have become so inslanely popular is because they were the first mainstream guitars out. Jimi, Page & all those guys used it because it was the most trustworthy guitar that time. I am sure if they were given a second chancem they would take a peak at Ibanez, Jacksons, ESP's or other guitars like that. The whole illusin that Gibsons are supposed to be the best is because of a history. Isnt it enigmatic how the business world works?

Forgive my spellings!

I just got off work and read the last few hours of postings so I have to say WAY TO GO JOE. After all this is your site. Yes I know that it also serves as a forum for you to feel the vibe of your fans and that criticism is accepted some times however it should ALWAYS be constructive and about the awesum music you put out, not petty personal issues which should be kept just that, personal not public a la chat forum. Lookin forward to the G3 releases and your next solo release. Hope to see you in concert during your next return to Canada. It'll probably be in Ontario or Quebec, maybe B.C. so I'll have to save moocho quid to travel the 1200+ miles but after seeing you in Toronto last Nov. it'll be well worth it. Well later all.

Just in case some may find my remarks slightly ambiguous they are intended for those who were criticising Joe not about Joe criticising Z. Smart. That's always cool.

Hehehe...it seems so weird to see everyone talking about Hollywood. It's a cool place, I agree, but it just seems weird to me because I live so close to it.

962 - Ugh! You actually like the new Corvette? I can't stand it...bleh!!!

I recorded your song choices...thanks. When we do the next section, though, email them to me. It's easier for me that way, and also the board won't be cluttered with 20 different people mentioning different songs.

Also, you only voted on the second section. The first section is still open...click here to see those songs.

jelly man - Jordan Rudess' new album is called Rhythm Of Time? I LOVE that title too...cool!
juju808 - But...AC/DC DOES rock! Everyone should see that kind of tattoo...haha. ;-)
Greyfox88 - Stu isn't playing with Joe...Matt Bissonette is on bass.
lord of the string - Joe had Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups in one of his chrome guitars for the LISF gig. That guitar, Pearly, was stolen a while back. :-(
JS JS - Happy 500!

Whoa...I'm a little confused...Did I miss a post or something?I read every page(I think) and was shocked by Joe's post.It bums me out to think that we have made this a darker place to be, if even only a few days.Joe shouldn't HAVE to ask us to chill.Dude shoudln't have to pay for a place that people fight over trivial stuff over.

I feel bad for contributing to the nonsense.

Jazzy_boy-Ive kep off you for a few days, but I figured as a way to be cool maybe I could actually offer you some answers for a few complaints you have made, which see reasonable, so perhaps I could try to help address them the way I see it.

1-Yes, everyone has a right to an opinion, and a right to express it.Tact is advisable, I would say.for instance, many people here knows me, and knows my thoughts on things like Joe's Setlist, Yngwie, etc.I am VERY opinionated, and have no qualms telling anybody about it.But tact is very crucial.

If Joe asked me, for example, I would tell him that I despise Malmsteens playing, or that I would rather hear Time Machine than Summer song.

BUT I would (hopefully) phrase it in such a way to ellicit a positive reaction.I would think my phrases out in such a way as not to offend.I come here to have friends, and to interact with them.We all have a common interest: the love of Joe Satriani's beautiful music.Aren't we lucky?

I don't think you should stifle your views at all.You don't like Vai, thats fine.I would approach the subject differently.

NOTE:I have said some F'D up things about many guitarists, but again, I am amongst friends, who know me pretty well after these last few years on T2J.I've hung out in person with many guys here, and am in a band with one of them(Graham, sort of, lol).

Point being, I put humor in many of my comments, and these guys (hopefully) know that I am kidding when I make fun of Yngwie, or Dokken, or whomever. Not Steve Perry, he is the Devil, and I mean that :D

2-Which brings me to the second issue Ive noticed that bothers you, our post counts.I think my previous paragraph kind of addresses this one a little, but here is the full view-I have a lot of posts here, and Graham does, and Mike does, and Mark does, and Austin does, and so forth and so on.

Thats a lot of posts of us talking to each other, getting to know each other, establishing connections.Yes Graham can say something in a different way to me,than he would to a new guy, because we know each other very well after all those posts. Its not respect because of the NUMBER of posts, but because of what has been said after all this time in those posts. The CONTENT of the posts. Its like coming into the middle of a long conversation. We don't treat you differently because of spite, or a view of superiority. Its just that we know each other well, and its gonna take a little bit of good interaction before a new person is integrated the same way.

HOPEFULLY all this can be put behind us.We love Joe's Music, can't we just be gratefully that we all have that as building block to enhance this community?

I can clarify further on any points if you like.I have said things here(T2J in general) that I regret, so I hope I don't come off as a holier than thou kind of guy in this posts.I just feel I have learned from my mistakes.

I used to get really drunk right before I would post here, (I didn't post much back then) and my posts reflect some of the mistakes Im talking about. You live you learn.Good luck.

JOE-Sorry for any wrong doings. As Ive told you in person, next to my dad, there is no greater influence and inspiration in my life than you and your music.....

..and breasts. But I do mostly stupid things because of those ;D

Basically, the last thing I would want to do(on your own site no less) is be a source of irritation.I definately fanned some flames, and I apologize.

oh yeah, and can you play EAR ACHE MY EYE at the next G3?:D

I am with you ETHN. I love Joe and hope only the best for him. When I make comments, its usually about his setlists. You know, being a real devoted satriani fan makes me want to talk to joe (!) about how I feel when I go to his concert. I love his concerts, they are amazing. Therefore as a fan, I dont mind telling him how I feel because I know he will listen. And I will talk to him very respectfully.

I love his albums! They are amazing! And I love every song, therefore I long to watch them live. And I hope someday out of the blue he will play them for me. Thats when I will feel special.

Wow, graced by Joe twice in one evening. My heart is racing. If you read this Joe, do you think Ibanez will ever make the JS available with a left-handed option? I know there isn't really a market for them, but it would still be good if we could have them special-ordered. I would also like to see a green JS.
