blade765: I've seen that vid. It made me want to give up now :) You have a very talented son there, and a nice guitar...Good to see the younger younger generation interested in good music!
Found out today that my wah is picking up mains hum from the plugs I run some of my pedals off. Not that strange? Well, it only came through when the Satchurator was on. That's strange (but explainable). It's a nice sunny day, and I'm stuck inside doing French homework :(

Hey Joe, I'm new to the site, but have followed your career since the beginning. I was the guitarist/vocalist for the Fl band BADDAX in the 90's and had the pleasure of meeting you and SV at a G3 promo. I am now a screenwriter, and record the soundtracks in my home studio, but unfortunitely haven't been doing much promotion with the music. After endless nudgings to contact you from fellow musicians, and others in the biz, I thought I'd give it a shot. I would love to send you a copy of one of my soundtracks (After Hours), which you can sample at www.cdbaby.com/jeffdeanmusic, or you can email me at jdeanconnell@live.com. If nothing else, I would be honored to hear your thoughts on it. My last release with BADDAX (1995) produced a #2 single (SCRAMBLETOWN) in 85 markets, and we toured for 8 years solid. One of our last endeavors was the Foundations Forum '95 in Burbank. I also performed at the Hartke Systems warehouse in NJ for Larry Hartke in '93, and he said you had played there days before. He endorsed me and gave me one of the first Transporter 412 cabs, and introduced me to a rep from Ibanez. I'm not really sure why I am sending you this message, but I currently have thousands of these CD's sitting in boxes in my garage (which cost me my life savings), and it eats me alive to see them just sit there, so I am willing to give anything a shot. Thank you for your time, and mainly for your music.

Ibanez_god--True. Recreational use of drugs is a waste of time and body. Shifting marijuana to the medical realm would make it less of a risky thrill to recreational users and hopefully provide sufferers relief.

I believe in the doctor's "First do no harm" as a practical principle. I would that everyone put this principle into practice. The paradox is that when there is no cure with conditions such as epilepsy, doctors and their assistants are left searching and dreaming and searching for drugs that can lessen the number of seizures. They try by guessing what drugs may work with their patients. My Steve and I are at a crossroads with his treatment--drugs have only worked so far and with diminishing results. The seizures are smaller and more frequent--simple partial--moments of lapses of conciousness where he is aware something is happening and can only hold up his hand to indicate he can't hear or speak for about a half to one minute or so. So sudden, so random! Three doctors at Stanford are talking about skull openings for brain mapping and after a month to 6 weeks of healing the skull suichures, Cyberknife radio surgery to zap the focal point of the seizure activity. It is difficult to describe here.

Wow! I rented and saw Satch Tapes last night. What a keeper when I can find the money to buy it. A great way to meet Joe and learn about him and his music. _________________________________________________ With a strinking savings account--life is getting more difficult. May have to buy much less expensive food--spam (yuck!), oatmeal, potatoes, onions (onion soup is good), any other inexpensive foods like dried peas and beans, etc. I guess rabbit food is fairly inexpensive--lettuce and carrots. Much less meat, but I like chicken, fish, turkey and ham. What ever happened to bison or buffalo meat? Is that expensive? Must be.

Where are the 21st century "green" jobs? Where are the venture capitalists? Where are the patrons, sponsors, donors? I wish I knew. Musicianship crosses all the centuries and is very "green" because the guitarists use clean electricity!

Joe,

I sent a message care of the webmaster last night whilst I was waiting for my renewed mebership here to be authorised. Just wanted you to know that details of your suit against Coldplay were misreported by Orange - in that they said your track was called "I Just Wanna Fly". I sent an email to ask them to correct the error, and added a coment to the website - see their news article at http://web.orange.co.uk/article/joe-satriani-to-serve-coldplay-with-writ-at-grammys. I hope you can reach a sensible and friendly resolution to the current impass, a shame that Coldplay haven't been more forthcoming. Keep on rockin' Joe - you keep us all inspired and amazed!

Mama M/Cheese:Fair play t the guys that stayed the night but i got t say it doesnt scare me at all.I,ve first hand experience with my sis when i was a lil un of un-understood energy which makes this look like Cinderella skipping through daffodiles in comparison

I was around 10 at the time my sis 8.Gran put us t sleep in a double bed & kissed us goodnight.Around 2am i knew it was cause of the ol ben clock next door my sis woke me up terrified asking me t put the light on theres an egg! so i reached over put the light on & i could see she was WHITE sheet scared, i mean she was terrified, so i,m thinking ok bad chicken dream lol, so i put the light off. What i saw was a huge shaped white/silver mixed colour egg shape float t the edge of the bed, at first it was just the outercase form but as it floated closer the inside became more brilliant, it did not give off any light bar what was within it.I reached for the light switch switched it on, white cold sweat running from every part of me, My sis was like "i told you roy"

It fucked up my entire youth as a child, i couldnt focus on school & all the storys i heard or thought about that were just storys suddenly became a possible reality

Big Bill Broonzy would be the man t shine some light

Thats why i play music, nothing else by comparison from that event made any significant enough mark on my soul t care enough t want t dedicate my life to it, what feckin could ffs

I swear on my own sons life thats the truth. What makes it more bizarre is an artist called Andy Goldsworthy builds a feckin egg shaped statue a few hundred yard from my grandparents house

FYI:Big Bill" was born William Lee Conley Broonzy which is why i chose my sons second name t be Lee

btw Al:nice lil toon

Ibanez-God, when u say ££££££ do you mean you live somewhere where you have to pay for your healthcare? - and it's going to cost more?

A while back someone on T2J asked Joe what he would he would do if he was ill while touring...well good ol UK would look after Joe (at no cost to him) as it does for anyone over here. We all pay our taxes & it pays for everyone here (in theory) ...so of course our NHS is always short of cash.........ho hum,...don't begrudge it for Joe & band of course

Yes awful last few days with bushfires in many locations, some not that far from Melbourne itself - so far 26 people have died. 12 of those seem to be 2 groups of 6 who died in their cars they must have been trying to escape. Apparently the fireball came through Kinglake so fast nobody had time.

Slan, yep, this is the one with the cemetery in it. Feckin crazy carvings! Makes me wonder what the meaning of it all was at the time. Sorry to bring up bad feelings. I believe ya bro. I've had my share, but gladly nothing as terrifying as what you and yer sis - and obviously others had seen. Glad you found music too!

Those dudes are nuts! They go into places asking for trouble. On another show, the main dude had the other two lock him in a morgue bed. Literally! Slid open the feckin drawer, crawled up in it and laid down, and had the dudes LOCK the door and go to other parts of this haunted place. Mental hospital or prison? Not sure.? After a while the dude started feeling really bad and feeling like somebody was in there with him, so he started freaking out and banging on the door. The other two dudes didn't hear him, and his feckin radio shut down! He was stuck in there screaming and banging until they heard him, and then they couldn't find the room he was in!! Oh hell no!! This shit scares the hell outta me. Don't know why I watch it? Guess I prefer watching the real scary stuff as opposed to the made up movies, and there's usually nothing on so we're flippin channels when we find it. I hate scary stuff. LOL!

I dig the name Broonzy. Shuda went for that one for the lil' man. lol! Ah well, maybe the next one ;- )

Hi all.... and thanks for the messages!

At the mo if I sneeze, cough, breathe sharply, move in a certain way, sleep on my right etc etc it hurts. It's not agony but pretty sore so guessing fractured ribs.... doh

Joe - Hi, am I dreaming it or have you covered a song written by (someone I've forgotten and) Mal Waldron? Hope you and the family are well, and you're gonna have a rest some time soon LOL... cool to see you posting again

Michelle - now that was funny (the grease post). So you want me to be rizzo and Al to be Sandy?? Great news about your Dad, that's so good! The struggle we have with snow is pretty funny I'd say

Igneous - thing is I don't find Bontrager to be naff components, so really surprised. Just one of those things I guess. Kinda like my 5 yr old Sony TV deciding to throw the toys this week BTW, isn't the Satchurator designed to help eliminate hum?... can't remember.... and I did try to warn you about Vista. Any reason why you can't switch to XP?

Roo - ok, that's cool. Hope you're enjoying your summer. BTW since you made some changes to the site it loads a lot quicker over here

alexandrecaetano - congratulations on the baby news!

Skippygirl - I'm more of a Fed fan myself (that's Roger Fed, not K Fed lol) but was still a great match to watch. Roll on some more great matches.. and wahoo, you got a Joe post. Oh, is it still easy to get centre/show tickets for the Tennis Open these days, at least in week 1?

Do The Stu - hey, hope it wasn't anything too serious that kept you from the board. Good to see you back

Castle49 - that's some serious stuff, how is your Dad now?

ZincMaster - cool news about Mr Big. They're such a good live band. I hope they take the tour worldwide

Cheese, Michelle, Glitz Man, Skippy Girl, Cosmic Ape, Igneous, Satriella, Castle49, GoldenGirl2 and anyone I may have missed - thanks all for the messages about "Fizz", my cat. I couldn't help feeling like a complete sh**head for making the decision (even if it was the right thing to do). Best & cutest cat I've known. Will just miss cuddling that little ball of fluff! Anyway, thanks again for the messages, much appreciated
... and finally, some weekend rock:

Pip, ya always gotta have "transition kitty". Transition kitty is the kitten you bring in when kitty #1 starts getting up in age. We always have 2 cats - simply because ya gotta give them a bud to pal around with. Like chips & chocolates, ya can't have just one! As for making that decision, it's one of the hardest things to do, but so much more humane than letting them suffer. And about Grease, ya know I wanna be Rizzo, and Al would make the perfect Sandy! He'd look just bitchin' in a poodle skirt! Broken ribs you say? I must have missed something. What happened?

Pip Satrini (nice name): I found that if I moved the wah about half a metre away from the plugs, the hum stopped. So yes, the Satchurator did a really good job at eliminating the hum! Yes, I know Vista's Sh**e, but it looks purty...I found that by putting the theme to 'Windows Classic' I was able to scrape back some vid memory. I was actually thinking about Linux for a pen drive, quite neat really, you can boot up off a pen drive and have a nice speedy linux OS! Nice vids, and skills to play Surfing with no bar! :)
This is weird, Neanderthal music.

Michellica - thanks for the Carly vid, altho I am still unsure what D-tuning is.........

Joe Satrini - I would agree with Mama M that a transition kitty is a good idea - altho yours may have been not very old when she fell ill? I just love the way you loved that cat - you are obviously affectionate yourself.

Re the Aust Open yes it is a great tournament to get tickets for - a $30 day pass gets you into every court except Rod Laver Arena and I have seen some sensational matches, lazed around at Garden Square and had a fab day. Actually the last 5 years my firm has been a corporate sponsor and I've had tickets to corporate seats with clients for every semi-final and final - YES the men' s and women's finals - but this year we didn't take the sponsorship so that's the end of that great free gig for me.

I got the electric today - it turns out it is a Telecaster not a Stratocaster and so SMALL - I can't believe how tiny electrics are compared to acoustic! but already I can see the difference in the fingerboard - dead flat, strings low etc and I can geet C and F really easily.

My niece also gave me a little old Peavey amp it is so cute. The power inlet plug is broken so I had to go buy 8 D batteries - hope they last. No headphone jack so I will have to keep the volume down.......

Lastly - awful, awful fires around Melbourne with 70 people dead and 600 homes lost. One of my staff is a volunteer firefighter and is on duty tonight to make firebreaks etc. terribly sad situation, so we are rounding up clothes, etc and making donations to help those who have lost their homes.

mama M:I find comfort talkin about it so no reason t feel yer diggin up bad memorys, i dealt with that demon a long time ago.Can say this tho, since that experience if someones head & heart is ok or not without so much as uttering a word i can pick up on it in a nanosecond, many a time i,ve left a room from what some would call "paranoia" hightened awareness i feel is more like it.Theres a good way t suss out the fakers from the others, people that have a scar on the soul after an experience dont talk about it in a fearful manner when the years pass, they come across angry cuz they are pissed at being laughed at & having t live with something that cant be explained yet by science

The grayfriars graveyard in Edinburgh is famous for a true story about a peoples dog called Bobby, who reportedly spent fourteen years guarding his owner's grave until his own death on 14 January 1872 it was said kids loved the dog so theres good reason t believe what the lads witnessed on yer link, at the same time they must have done research so jumping t conclusions is goin t happen, they seriously need t loose those studio reverb fxs in the program tho, makes it come across sooo fake

btw thats a good Nick for johnnyboy....Broonzy lol i like that
