I just came in for a quick lunch, been out in the pickup rediscovering "Speak of the Devil" as I mentioned in my earlier post this morning. I know some of you who have not heard this will check it out. Don't listen to it until you have time to sit down and listen to the whole thing at once preferably with headphones. But a word of caution,..Be careful with the volume. The drums will pop an ear drum. If you are a fan of heavy guitar with the perfect tone and pounding drums, you will need a cigarette when you are finished, and I don't smoke. TTFN burly

Satriella--All those guys that wanna get layed.........Don't they have anything better to do? I guess they have to make sure their bits work....I guess that's it. The Scottish men have great accents, especially when they say "Early" and the kilts show off the handsome hairy legs. These are great places to carpet kiss!!!!!!! Carpet kissing is sure a hell of a lot better than "carpet bombing" don't ya think?? Make love not war and all that old fashioned stuff. Has making love gone out of fashion?????

The Chickenfoot podcast is awesome...I never thought I'd hear Joe say the words "you go from Get It Up to Sexy Little Thing" in my life. ;-)
Sammy said something about Joe's bass player being sick before the PSATMOR tour? I guess that was the "scheduling conflict" with Brad that led to us getting Stu?
I'm glad to hear Sammy say he thinks his best lyrics are here...after listening to Soap On A Rope and Down The Drain countless times, I think his lyrics are the weakest part. So I look forward to being surprised on the rest of the album.
And we have another former Planet Us song...Learning To Fall. So that's four songs from that band that we know of now.
burly - I like the Speak Of The Devil album quite a bit...I wasn't aware that lineup had toured together for more than to record that album, though. It's cool that you got to see 'em. Are you a member of Dime A Dozen? Maybe you can find something there...
Tommy Aldridge is a great drummer...I saw him in Ted Nugent's band, opening for Kiss in 2000. And sure enough, you just mentioned that in another post.
Onto Joe Perry...I like his playing a lot, and I think it'd be very cool to hear him do something with Satch. I know they've crossed paths at festivals and so on, but I think the closest they've come to playing together is both having songs on the Merry Axemas album.
I know Satch has been at a few Les Paul birthday parties / benefit gigs...I wonder if he's ever jammed with Joe Perry at one of those.

I just ordered 7 Joe Satriani CDs today!! More about this later. Joe, I shared info about Chicken Foot with my podiatrist!! LOL! Seriously, I am looking forward to seeing you guys in Mountain View, San Jose or San Francisco this year. Please let us know when you will be in the Western USA with Sammy, Mike, and Chad. Please.

T2Jers- I have to buy my 14 year old daughter an electric acoustic. I don't really need to spend a wad of $, but I want a descent instrument. I bought her a nice S series Ibanez last year and she opted for trading me out of my Les Paul.( which was suprisingly easy for me to do. I love the S series.) Now she wants an elec / acous., typical musician, never satisfied. She is starting to work with the more difficult chords. Any recommendations? $ range 5-700 American Dollars give or take a little. She is picky about appearance and does not like the Montage Ibanez or the Ovations with the weird openings. I am leaning toward Ibanez but am not familiar with the models. I have researched them and can't seem to make up my mind. But I have to do something quickly because right now she is lugging around my D 28 which makes me crazy nervous.

yamaha makes some decent guitars for the $500-700 range... or, you can go with a martin... you should go to a store and line them up, see what feels better... always remember to narrow them down to the cheap ones first!

Burly: It's really interesting to have the other perspective on things. I swear if you only read Mexican newspapers for 3 months you would be convinced that all US farmers are getting 99 cents out of every dollar they spend from the government, and thus they're the evil machine that must be stopped from selling their goods in our country. Funny no one complains about US companies opening up factories over here (one of which I work for).
As far as duets (and focusing on guitars, there are many other duets I can think of which would be unsuitable for this page!!), Satch with Gilmour would indeed be VERY interesting. I would personally go for John Petrucci (Dream Theater) and Michael Romeo (Symphony X) doing a full-blast speed metal song. That's more of my thing.
Austin: going back to a previous post, I'd rather not receive any news like presale passwords than getting them late! That blows. Question, have u gotten your hands on the Liquid Trio Experiment CD? If so what did u think?? I am stuck with their "US Credit Cards Only" policy and can't buy it!!!!@#$%

Joe, love the interview the three of you did when Chad was home having his baby. Good times man, good times! Tracie and I were discussing it, and we've decided that if yer gonna use the F-bomb, you have to say it with more conviction! Hasn't yer time with Leslie taught you anything? lmao! If yer gonna drop it, drop it hard! Now what's this about the music blowing the buttons off yer pants??? lmao!!
Sounds like an Austin Powers trick! lol!
YEAH BABY YEAH!

burly - Yeah I couldn't believe that Kiss tour was so long ago, either. They really put on a great show, and it's unfortunate to see what's happened to the band since then (although I can't say it's unexpected). I was really impressed by Ted Nugent...I need to see him again sometime.
I saw the Sacramento show, which was at an amphitheater that had just opened. I scored 13th row tickets (stage right) on Ticketmaster...it was LOUD but very awesome.
Ibanezplyr - I hope the Mr. Big tour in Japan is a success, so we get some US dates.
And if not, well, I can say I was incredibly lucky to have been at Paul's show at the HOB in LA in February...there was a 3/4 Mr. Big reunion at the end of the encore. It was so cool to see him and Billy Sheehan playing together...
GoldenGirl2 - Awesome! You should have just about all of Satch's albums by now, right?
elpp - Yes, I have the L3E2 (man, that's confusing) live CD. It's well worth picking up, if you can find a way...I can't believe that they just decided to jam on the spot like they did. If you're impatient, I remember most of the jam was posted on YouTube in fairly decent quality...it might still be there.
Do you have any way around the Ytsejam Records credit card problem? That has got to be annoying...does that happen a lot with US companies?
...Austin...
