Pip55 - Yeah, I'm only going to the show today. I'm leaving for Aspen tomorrow, so I can't make the SF show that I have tickets for. I need to sell those tickets by about 2 p.m. T2J time tomorrow, but I have a feeling I won't be able to. Argh...oh well.

Some awesome behind the scenes footage of Chickenfoot on Mad Anthony TV......wow

Pip-..Ha good Question....Ibanez and Dimarzio have been a team for years...i will assume that an external graphic designer was afraid of a copyright issue...No permission?..get the airbrush out...like so many ads in Guitar world..better safe than sued..:)

Ive been thinking about the upgrade you mentioned...i will discuss it with my guitar tech this weekend...but if i get serious on the 2400, and having 14 axes, i will have to release one of them..lol

Js Acoustics..got pricing at $500 and $1000..but thats it..not in stores yet...would love to hear about the features that make it a JS

if anyone is going to be at NY store appearance, let me know cause theres something for u ill be bringing..:)

Cough... spits out usual midnight crap snack.... did somebody say 14 guitars?

Axe - ah, that makes sense about the airbrush out. Thanks! So, do you have pics of all 14 or can you list them? Presume not all JS? Going to release one or two into the wild huh lol

The locking posts mod plus double checking your knife edges aren't "squiffy" should see you right. The posts I know from experience, the knife edge effect I found out about today with my adopted Guitar tech

Do The Stu - oh sorry, I'll be no help then as won't know until start of next week. enjoy your show, detailed report please : ) Aspen.... C O O L! Er, literally I imagine

Cheese - oh har de har. You and your crystal ball. Nice one! They're due here in April. That's a mighty long time you know (because in UK music store speak that'll be November)

I hope this gets to Joe. I know this is a long shot but it's the only shot I have. I was wondering if you would be so kind Joe to consider signing a guitar I built to be auctioned off for charity. Before you ignore the postl at least take a moment to look at the signatures I already have. Premier Guitar Magazines CEO Peter Sprague has agreed to donate some space in his magazine to promote the auction. I hope I can add your signature to the list. I live in San Jose California and have built guitars for other celebrities. I know you're going to be in town and this would be the a good time if you decide to sign the guitar.

The auction will be for a guitar that I built that has been signed by a number of artists. You can see the guitar in the raw and the signatures on my web site at the link below. The money will be donated to the Lucille Packard foundation at Stamford university for children's cancer research. The auction will held in about 6 months while I try to get additional signatures. Which has been difficult to this point.

http://www.biscegliaguitars.com/The%20Jake.html

Here are just some of the signatures are some know guitarist: 1. Carlos Santana 2. Greg Kihn 3 Dave Meniketti and all of the Y&T band past and present. 4. Eric Martin 5. Laurance Juber These are just some of the signatures I have so far.

The Guitar was named after a little boy named Jake Dagnino a friend of my wife's little boy. He was 11 when he lost his battle to Leukemia. The proceeds will be donated to the Lucille Packard foundation in Jake's name, where he was treated. A brief story about what a wonderful little boy Jake was is here:

http://www.biscegliaguitars.com/Jakes%20Page.html

Please take a moment to read it. It was written by the father of one of Jake's little friends Katie who was going through the same treatment.

The guitar will become a permanent addition to my line of guitars. For each guitar sold one hundred dollars will be donated to the hospital.

Quickly, Jake was waiting for a bone marrow transplant for quite sometime. When they finally found a donor, Jake got his transplant just in time. Jake was doing well for about a month then something went terribly wrong and Jake died soon after.

I hope you will seriously consider my request and pass this request onto Joe. I will completely understand if you can not. I have spoken briefly to Greg Kihn, of the Greg Kihn Band, in San Jose, where he has his own weekday morning radio show, about giving me some air time. I'm almost certain this will happen.

Thanks for your time.

Sincerily, George Bisceglia

Randell, we have a nice recording setup in the basement. They were recording that session, but my son had the sample rate (whatever that is) off, and the computer shut down and lost it all. I think they're going to practice again this weekend, so my hubs will set it up to make sure they get something this time :-)

Joe - Your JS24 looks and sounds beautiful...I love that shade of blue! Of all of your "normal" guitars, this one is by far my favorite.

Everyone else (and Joe, too)...

Excellent show! This gig was at the same venue where Chickenfoot ended their last year. The show wasn't sold out, but there was a good turnout and the crowd was energetic.

The lineup was similar to the show I saw in 2008, and a lot of the same songs were played by the same people. I'd say most of the duplicate performances were better then than now, but this show was still solid.

I know Joe had top billing on the tour promo stuff, but I wasn't actually expecting him to get the last slot during the show...that was a pleasant surprise.

I had my eye on the sound guy's setlist, but another "fan" beat me to it. He was a real jerk and wouldn't let me take a picture of it even though I asked nicely. I was able to get a setlist from the lighting guy instead, so it's all OK...but that fan is still a jerk.

The setlist:

http://www.twitpic.com/16wsrv

Joe played Third Stone From The Sun before Foxey Lady and they didn't do the last encore, but the rest of the setlist is correct. It'll change a bit as the tour goes on, though, as the lineup differs slightly from show to show (Robert Randolph and Susan Tedeschi are joining the tour later).

More in my next post...

There were some minor technical (sound) issues throughout the gig, but they weren't too distracting. I'm just picky.

Eric Johnson was great, but his sound bugged me at times. He switches between different amps when he plays live (he's picky with tone), and his main lead tone wasn't miked (or maybe mixed) well...it sounded piercing and thin instead of warm and fat. His vocals were good, though, and the crowd loved him.

I love watching Jonny Lang and Brad Whitford play together. Of all the different guitarists I saw tonight, these two were the most "G3-like" with the way they traded solos and switched between playing rhythm and lead.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd really got the crowd going, as anyone who has seen him before will understand (not to say they weren't into the show before he went on). His guitar cut out briefly at least three times during his set, but I think he was to blame (it looked like he came unplugged from his pedalboard). His amp mike cut out completely during one of his last solos, but that was probably a problem at the booth.

Satch was awesome (big surprise there, haha). Third Stone From The Sun was by far the night's most "out there" song, but it was cool. Joe sat down at his pedalboard to mess with his delays and other effects, just like he did during Searching on the ITLIS? tour. As a quick aside, I now have a pretty good idea of what Woodstock Jam would sound like live. :-)

Foxey Lady was my least favorite of Joe's songs, probably because it sounded too similar to what I heard on the G3 2007 tour.

All Along The Watchtower sounded perfect...I just don't get how Joe can make it look so effortless. If I had to pick one Satch highlight, it'd be the main solo here.

Red House was a real treat. On a personal note, it's really cool that within six months I've seen Joe jam with half of Van Halen and one of Aerosmith's guitarists. Those were my top two bands for a while when I was younger, before I ever knew who Satch was, so it's cool that things have come "full circle" in a sense.

Most people here probably associate Red House with the first G3 album, but Aerosmith have been playing it live ever since the 1970s so Brad Whitford isn't a stranger to the song by any means. He took the first solos, and he can REALLY play...I think he'll surprise a lot of T2Jers on this tour.

I need to get some sleep, so I'll stop here for now. I'll fill in more details tomorrow, though.

...Austin...

Awww webby Jon, we'd do both shows if we could, but they play the same night, dangit! Guess we'll take live Joe over screen Joe any day though and will just hafta wait for the dvd to release :) But it's great for those who can't make the EH show! Thanks for the heads up and special dealio!

Austin, sounds fantastic, and based on reading Joe's blog, he's totally loving this. But we prolly all kinda figgered he would, lol!! And a new color JS2400?? Sweet!! I was expecting to see the white, but that blue should be interesting. I'm betting it's the same color as what Joe gave Jimmy Fallon a coupla weeks ago. Other than Joe,we haven't seen any of the players live so this show is going to be a real highlight for us :) Enjoy Aspen....Aspen?? woo woo! lol! Oh, and ps, you might be proud of me that my musical tastes are continuing to expand, checking out Paramour and Muse and Linkin Park....I know, takes me long enough, but whenever I venture "out" I have to give credit to Chris for pushing me, and then I think of you and your diverse musical tastes and collection :)

Guitarvibes, thanks for the blog addy, it'll be fun to stay updated with Joe on his journey.
