WOW!!!

The performance and signing at Tower tonight was SO cool. I have about 15 pictures that I'll post later tonight...I'll give more details later, too.

I have eight pages to get through first. ;-)

I gave Joe a copy of a bootleg of his Experience Hendrix tribute gig from back in February. His face lit up when I told him about it. I wish I had a picture of his expression...it was awesome. I've never seen him happier.

Joe - It truly was a pleasure meeting you...thanks. :-) I'm looking forward to seeing you with Thin Lizzy and Deep Purple at the Greek Theatre on 9/4/04.

...Austin...

Hey JazzyBoy:

I am by no means an expert on the Floyd Rose on all guitars, but I am an expert on how they work on mine. I have 4 axes with the Floyd, I started using Floyds about 1984 -85 or so. I have over the years, been forced to learn in self defense I might add, how to string up and tune up the Floyd. I have tried 10’s, 9’s. 8’s, and yes even 11’s at one time or another. I have adjusted the Floyd in every way with each string gauge. I have always come back to the 9’s. My axes seem to like these the best. This is my procedure, maybe this will help you.

1. I boil the strings in water for 5 min. or so, (EVH interview).

2. I string the guitar up, and tighten the strings, I then stretch the strings by pulling them up, one at a time at the 12th fret. Careful here not to break the strings, be gentle when doing this, do not be in a hurry here.

3. I tighten the strings up again and repeat this process several times.

4. Once I fill the strings are good and stretched, I then loosen them all up. Put all six of the fine tuning adjusters on the tremolo to about ½ way. This is important to do before you start tuning with your tuning keys.

5. I then tune the E, A, and D strings to about 470-480 depending on the guitar, I find they do vary and you may need to go a little higher here. I believe this depends on your tremolo’s spring configuration. This is your initial or first tuning.

6. I then bring the G, B, and E strings to 440 on the tuner. This should balance the E, A, and D strings back to around 440.

7. Here I re-check the E, A, and D strings to see where they are on the tuner. You should see here whether your initial tuning of 470 - 480 on your E, A, and D strings was to much or to little. You should however be pretty close to 440. If these strings are below 440, you need to increase your initial tuning. If these strings above 440, you need to decrease you initial tuning.

8. You may have to loosen all the strings up several times and repeat this process adjusting the initial tuning of the E, A, and D strings.

9. Once you achieve your balance, all strings as close to 440 as possible, tighten your locking nuts down, and proceed to tune using the fine tuners on the tremolo. I normally depress the tremolo several times to the extreme during this process. Here again you may need to repeat this process.

10. You may find after the guitar has set up a day or so that you may have to re-tune it. Follow all these procedures depending on how bad it is out of tune. You may just need to adjust the fine tuners on the tremolo.

I have found with my axes that if you try tuning all the strings to 440 you will never get the guitar in tune and you will end up with your tremolo’s tail way above level. If you however offset the top 3 strings to a tuning higher than 440 as described above, and then tune the bottom 3 strings to 440 this will bring the top 3 string back down to near 440. These procedures have work for me over the years. The Floyd Rose experience has been good for me, but I had to learn how to treat each and everyone of my little sweeties. My wife says to me when I am changing the strings. “You spankin her huh, whad de bitch do this time”. So that is what we call changing the strings, a spankin. Hey I hope this helps, it took me awhile to figure this out , no one ever told me or had shown me what to do, had to learn it as I said, in self defense. Peace………Clint

GUNSGODSGUITARS!: Wow! Thanks man! That really helps! You rock! I will give it a thorough study and see what results I get. Thanks again for your time!

OCPS: Thanks man, Iove your tips!

Trutina: Very well said. Good Morals. True human.

Alexandre: Hey buddy! How's the beautiful Flamenco Spring ? Take care!

Stu Clone: Another intelligent person! Thanks for all the good shit!

And Last...the Jackasses Mr. Joeman9 and JS_JS...thanks for being so fucking stupid. It really lowers the bar for a lot of people when it comes to calling themselves intelligent. I feel like Einstien now. JS_JS, you wanted to be friends and then your sorry stupid ass takes a U-turn and goes against what you were working for. Kissing a Homophobe's ass like joeman's (duh, not surprising) butt proves your unintelligence. Dont Blame me man, you are just proving yourself wrong.

Joeman9: Winning a war of words? Well, what are you trying to do here? Is there any possibility to win any other way? Goddamn, rate your IQ. Seriously, get your head out of your ass.

JS_JS and Joeman9: You have both reached my list of "ignorant, stupid and apathetic" people. I feel no shame dissing you both. I feel good about it.

Heck, arguing with two stupid fucks like you is making me feel like retarded.

JS_JSThis is what you said and I thought you were sincere.

Jazzy boy I am repeating what I said yesterday. I'm sorry for all that crap and lets just drop it. you are a fellow Satch fan and i can tell you really like Joe and are not a poser so I have no bad blood with you.

Joeman9, you said this....you not only have a minscule brain but also have a very sad way of compromising debates.

JS_JS just forget it man if he's still holdin' on to it, I think he's just doing stuff like that to make himself fell better to win a war of words.

Jazzy Boy I knocked a kids lights out because he was being a racist to all my friends be fore I moved where I live now. I hate racism and discrimination about stuff like that but I'm not so sure if I agree with the Homosexuality thing. How can you really be sure if you're actually born with it? My theory is like if you grow up in that sort of environment like if you hang out with one group of people more than another you become like the first. Am i understood?

Yeah, I understood you. You're stupider than fuck.

JS_JS: I am speechless about you. Do I smell hyporcrisy? Sorry, I smell more stupidity...

Joeman9 I know what you mean about that guy, he is a jerk. and your right, you arnt born gay, its a choice just like verything else in your life. you arent born a serial killer or whatever, its the choices you make and the peole you associate with. liberal democrats just try to justify all their wrongs beucase they dont want to make the right choices. beisides, its a sin whether you are a Christian or not, its morally wrong. so instead of tyirng to justify it, why dont the liberals try to help people become striaght? they say that what they are about is makiing peoples' lives better. BS!!

oh wiat, my bad, they are trying to make their lives better.

You are the people I thank God for so that I can praise him/her for the brain he/she gave me and to other wonderful people I have come across in my everyday life, whether it be personally or on T2J.

Homosexuality as a choice? Ha Ha Ha. Too bad you kids have a lot to learn.

btw, you both suffer from a dangerous hate disease called homophobia. See your psychologist, bitch! Also, I cannot wait for more unintelligent answers from both of you to entertain myself.

DelfinoPie- Make sure your picking arm is relaxed. Something to try might be; check that you are holding the pick just firm enough so that it doesn't slip out of your grasp when you pick. It might not feel natural at first but if you practice it, it will happen.

Joe Picked up ITLIS, I'm digging it man :-) So far I'm finding the mellow tracks a lot more absorbing (ITLIS and Searching especially) - My gut feeling is that the rockier tracks are really going to come into there own in a live environment. How do you rate the album against your previous work ? It must be tough to keep on producing the goods but I guess that each album is just a snapshot of where your relationship with music and the guitar was at that particular time ? Look forward to seeing you in June man, nearly 20 years after I first started listening to you now ! Back when we both had more hair ;-)

Trutina Good luck with your results buddy. I'm totally with you on the gay thing, it's a preference, I prefer not to but it makes no odds to me ;-) Stay strong bro' !

Mikey Dammit dude, I wish I had a multi region player, I don't think there is much chance of finding Guitar Wars on region 0 yet. How is Steve Hackett's playing these days, I used to love that dude when he fresh out of Genesis - I saw a live DVD of his in the local shop the other day but I didn't know what sort of stuff he was playing now - worth a look in your opinion ?

Jazzy Boy Guitars Suck! Great SOTD 9.11 is one of my favourite CDs. If you haven't heard it yet I'd also recommend 'A Demons Dream' by Dave Martone -killer sounds ;-)

FireBlader Welcome aboard man, nice to see another bike nick on here :-)

I've not been posting much of late but I'm still trying to keep up.

Classic SOTD - Leave Me Alone - White Lion. Vito sure tears it up on that one!

L8R guys ;-)

MICHELLE

I am 26 years old. I haven't got any children. I was a visasiste for beauty salon, for TV, for magazines. Resently I work for color cosmetic brend. But now I have greate and difficult time! Because, I got an opportunity to do administrarive work as well. I want to combine two sides of my work. It will be difficult. I know it. But I am ready. I will have to learn and prove a lot. First of all to myself... then, to some people surround me. Time will show... And I will see... Without illusions.

I feel, everything that was earlier, was just a preperation for what is happenin now in my life... I am listening to Joe's music about 4 years. His music encourage me...

I have never written to any website :-}

Do your close people share your musical interests? What intersting is happening in your life?

Hey Joe! how's it going? Awesome performance!

I just got back from the signing at Tower records on Sunset. I should have known you'd be there, DoTheStu!! was anyone else there?

I still can't believe that I got to meet Joe! as down-to-earth as anyone could be. He was just amazing. It was such a great experience (even though I had to buy the CD again to get in ) But I'm not going to let anything ruin the day =)
