Well...Sony/BMG and the continuing story of their XCP virus is doing just that...continuing. I returned my G3 Live In Tokyo CD per the record company's instructions, two weeks later the replacement arrives shattered into pieces. I call Sony/BMG again, they forward my call to the NY record company that's now handling their XCP Exchange Program, and I was assured my CD would be replaced...Yesterday UPS rang the bell and presented me with yet another package from the record company in NY, I open it and it contains the new Van Zant CD and a bill stating that the CD is supposed to be the G3 disc. Sony doesn't seem very interested in making their fiasco right.

I contacted them about my personal losses due to their virus, two weeks of my computer not responding to any commands that involved the CD or DVD ROMs, and was politely given an address on Madison Ave. to contact about my losses. I composed a letter and mailed it that day. It was returned unopened with a red stamped message stating they didn't accept it because it wasn't sent attention to any specific person in their office. I called Sony, they put me on hold and eventually hung up on me. I called again, they told me to just add "Attention Legal Dept." on the envelope and send it to them again.

If you add into this the fact that Sony thinks they can make their XCP fiasco disappear by offering the estimated 11 million users afflicted "free downloads." Please. For Christ's sake, someone wake these people up. They place an intrusive virus/spyware program in my computer in an effort to keep me from making copies of a CD that I purchased at full retail price in an effort NOT to allow the music to be copied and shared. Then they think that offering me "free downloads" is the solution? Isn't the sharing of files what they're attempting to stop?

Doesn't really matter, even with all of my communication with Sony/BMG, I've yet to receive ANY location for "free downloads."

I know Joe has nothing to do with this, but I feel that he needs to be fully informed of his fan's difficulties with the decisions made by the higher-ups at Sony/BMG. I will certainly go out of my way NOT to purchase any Sony/BMG product in the future since they could care less about the estimated 11 million affected customers that they sabatoged. I suppose I will look into putting my name in one of the many class-action suits aimed at Sony/BMG's poor policy-making decision of placing an intrusive virus program on a retail release. It's wrong, my computer and home business has been damaged severely and I expect compensation. Sony needs to step up and make things right if they EVER want me to purchase another product with their name on it.

DCK, -40? haha, that's pretty damn chilly! Thanks for your response.....Winnipeg sounds a lot like I imagined.

Plum Loco, cool, thanks a lot for your input.....it all helps! Yeah those are definitely some pretty impressive figures for population growth, not bad for an economically developed country!

How far do you have to travel from where you live to find mountains and decent territory for skiing, mountain biking, hiking, climbing...all that sort of thing? 100k from Toronto is great....do you go there much?

svk, thankyou kindly, yeah I had a cool day thanks! I've somehow managed to get a cold though.....well, I hope it's just a cold! Since I'm asking people about the places they live....whereabouts are you from?
Everyone, feel free to tell me a little about the place you live in, and what you like or don't like about it! Now I've started asking I want to know more! :-D

Good Afternoon Satchland....How are You Guys?

I've got great news to share. My band has it's first gig March 11th with the new line up......including keyboards. The last time I played live was March 6th 2004. It's been a long time coming. We're doing some Satch tunes : Always With Me Always With You and House Full Of Bullets. We do them arranged exactly like from LISF. I can't wait.

SteveeT... This is the same club that streams jam nights over the net. Unfortunately our gig will not be streamed. We'll stream a gig there soon. It's looking like over the Summer. I'll keep you guys posted on that one.

Have A Great Day ! ! ! !

Dear Mr. Joe,

First of all Happy new year, wish u hell lotta success :)

i want to thank u for the great music that u give us, it inspires me in everything in this life, it makes me happy when im sad and it gives me hope everytime i feel down, u r a unique player that got undiscriped feelings in ur playing, every note u play says many thing..very deep. i'am a big fan of urs like everyone else, when i learnt guitar i played on ur songs as a practising,i been playing for 8 years now and i can play most of ur songs and i never get bored playing them, the first guitar i bought and still playing on it till now is a cheap jackson, and my biggest dream is to own ur signiture series, but its very expinsive for me, so i started to save money for this guitar two years ago, worked so hard for it, and when i almost got the requiered money i faced a problem which was i have to pay my colleg to be able to study, so i spent that money, i had no choice, and i cant save anymore now that im in colleg, it takes all my money. Mr.Joe, i never dreamed to have or to own something more than ur signiture guitar, sometimes i wish i'm a rich person, then i find the fact that i cant own anything expinsive, its so depressing, Mr.Joe would u please give me away a signiture series of urs?.

im really sorry if i sound mean or anything like that, u have no idea how much it honors me to own something that has ur name on it, i never wanted something more than that.

thank u Mr. Joe, and im sorry again , i wish u the best

G'day Joe thats great to hear that you want to have a G3 in "down under" i have a couple of guitarist suggestions firstly my favorite is a local shredder by the name of Peter Northcote, he has worked with the best all over Australia Check out his website www.peternorthcote.com, then ther is Dave Hole Slide guitarist extra-ordanare i recomend listening to a sond called bullfrog blues and north-west blues, and last but not least one of your favorites Tommy Emmanual amazing finger picker and flat picker, and alround awsome guitarist. pick one of those three and you have made my life-time.

Hi Yall,

Public Notice - You are all wonderful people.

Mari - Can't wait to see your pictures, you are so professional - have you tried approaching any magazines with them, I'm sure they would 'snap' you up. hehe

PlumLoco - One thing I love about this place is the mystery of who your talking too, if we had pictures that would go :0 I love T2J as is. Vision can sometimes cloud our thinking especially in this world of the ideal figure/supermodal/boy band ideal if you see what I mean. Better to know the inner person, not having picutres allows for that without any prejudices.

Keniko - wooo hoo great news about the gig - where are you playing? How many people do you expect? Are you nervous? Hope it goes well :)

Cheese101 - hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha - your list was funny, and sad cos it was true!!

Peaceandguitars - Still thinking warm thoughts towards you, I know pain doesn't go away quickly and it's hard to swim against the tide - Hang in there and keep watching this space. What's CMPL, I looked back at previous posts and I couldn't work it out, was it a trick? Hook, Line and sinker if it was! Big Hug honey.

js1200js1000 - Let's get one thing clear - YOU could never offend anyone or be out of place, showing concern is always a good thing. There is a saying "you always hurt the ones you love"------ Well the one who is supposed to love me has hurt me BAD, It's bin bout 12 weeks now and I'm trying hard to be forgiving but my love for him seems to have gone this time, which is not what I want, which is why I'm hanging on in there. The trouble is even though it hurts me, he says there is nothing he can do about it, that it's all a matter of nature and it's all my fault anyway. Anyway, this time if he wants my love, he will have to show it, but at the moment there is nothing to show in any way what so ever....so here I patiently wait.............and wait...........

The CMFL stands for the 'CAMBODIAN MIDGET FIGHTING LEAGUE'

They were a league of midgets that were set upon an African Lion and made to fight it . All I can say is ................42 went into that ring and only 14 came out .............. I'll post the story again so u can have a read . Its sad but strangely funny *if true*

Peace*

SATRIELLA

SUPPOSED TRUE STORY ????!!!!!!

Lion Mutilates 42 Midgets in Cambodian Ring-Fight

An African Lion is responsible for the death of 28 Cambodian Midgets Spectators cheered as entire Cambodian Midget Fighting League squared off against African Lion Tickets had been sold-out three weeks before the much anticipated fight, which took place in the city of Kâmpóng Chhnãng.

The fight was slated when an angry fan contested Yang Sihamoni, President of the CMFL, claiming that one lion could defeat his entire league of 42 fighters.

Sihamoni takes great pride in the league he helped create, as was conveyed in his recent advertising campaign for the CMFL that stated his midgets will "... take on anything; man, beast, or machine."

This campaign is believed to be what sparked the undisclosed fan to challenge the entire league to fight a lion; a challenge that Sihamoni readily accepted.

An African Lion (Panthera Leo) was shipped to centrally located Kâmpóng Chhnãng especially for the event, which took place last Saturday, April 30, 2005 in the city’s coliseum.

The Cambodian Government allowed the fight to take place, under the condition that they receive a 50% commission on each ticket sold, and that no cameras would be allowed in the arena.

The fight was called in only 12 minutes, after which 28 fighters were declared dead, while the other 14 suffered severe injuries including broken bones and lost limbs, rendering them unable to fight back.

Sihamoni was quoted before the fight stating that he felt since his fighters out-numbered the lion 42 to 1, that they “… could out-wit and out-muscle [it].”

Unfortunately, he was wrong.
