Sorry to hear more T2J ers having troubles. It does seem that if its not one( damn) thing its another. Good advice to hang in there but sometimes you have to dig in with your claws to just hold on.

Michelle-so much on your "plate" right now. But your irrepressible sense of humor is still intact. Happy B-day to your son. My son will be 18 in January. My boy is 6ft. one and 200 pounds but he still my ' lil boy.

Cheese- good reports about your dad. So glad he is making progress.

Zen -yes! good tunes. I especially like "The Riff and The Sweat."

Skippy-LMAO! "Suburban Housewife" lol
I used to really like Kiss when I was young but for the life of me I can't remember; why? When it comes to choosing I'd rather see Chickenfoot any day(Or Joe Solo)
MInimoog- I too, would love to know( if any one knows?) about a pre-order on the Chickenfoot release.(please and thank you)
Slanshroom- Beautiful music. Touches the soul. Thank you for sharing
Do The Stu- that is a teaser......lol

Thanks for the bday wishes for my son. He's a keeper. lol!

Skippy, still have to watch yer clippy...er...vid. lol!

Burly, dad's encouraging words can sometimes be the best medicine. My best to her and yer fam,.

Don, good news is so underrated. lol! Good for you!

Slan, as for Al, dunno which pics are funnier - the half nekked pics or the drunkin' pics. I'd say 50/50 in my book. lol! I've seen variations of his white Irish ass in different drunkin stages. The guy is hilarious, but he's not to be outmooned by his mates. lol! It's the whole lot of moonshiners. LOL! I love dat guy. lol! I'll be giving my son yer wishes for sure. Thanks! Kisses back to Johnny Lee too!

Peas Lily, my boy is 5' 10 and skinny as a rail like his mum *picking myself up from the floor caused I laughed to hard* um NOT! ahem...yeah... Anyways, I call him Stick Stickly or Muscles Linguine :-) Some day he'll fill out, but right now he's a skinny rock star. lol!

Memorial service went well. We wanted to make it happy, so we all tried as hard as we could to restrain the tears. Most of us already cried our eyes out, so today was just...nice.

But now, I have to get in birthday mode *hits music*

Crank it!

Let's dance!!

Guitarvibes--Have you met any of this people who play these new instruments?

ptrocker--I liked your September posts. Very well said about alcohol and drugs.

Way behind on posts and may take awhile to catch up with all the other things I'm doing like work and keeping house among other things AND most important spending time with my Steve.

Joe and Steve Vai--I read your interviews in Guitar World from 1990 and 2007. What great brother-friends you are! I figure that's something to celebrate by listening to more Joe Satriani and Steve Vai music!!!! Yeeeesssss! Maybe some Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Steve Morse and.......J. Petrucci...Andy Timmons.....Yngwie....and Paul Gilbert..... WOW!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOOG!!!

Hope it's a very happy one for him chelle...n glad you made the memorial a time of happy rememberance. BIG hugs honey.

Skippy, I think I missed yer birthday, so please forgive me, happy late birdee to you! And as fer Kiss...well um...I really couldn't take my eyes off Gene Simmons cuz he was acting so retarted, LOL!! I've seen enough episodes of The Family Jewels or whatever his reality show was called (why can't I remember that?) that he's totally lost all mystique fer me....whenever I see him I just hear his kids saying some zinger that puts him back in his place :)) And the housewife vid was fun, lol!

Burly, good news on your daughter, we've been wondering how things were going!! Speedy recovery to her, but yeah...these things take time and we get impatient!

Austin, how sure are you that's a teaser of the actual dvd? It's very fun, lol!

And now, interrupting this posting to get back to work.....

blue moon. i don't like something that smells like a cash grab either, but your statement about their music being "typical rock" thrown together is waaaay off base. Nothing is typical where Joe Satriani is involved. Remember that and you'll do fine.

I wouldn't say its way off... its slightly off at most, the guitars are the best bit but its overloaded with the usual rock riffs, same tempos and keys with a dash of ridiculous lyrics... but its jus straight up rock done well, thats all, good production on the cd definitly... i do like some of it but find it hard not to fast forward the songs on the album if i try n listen to it, some of the solos just sound lke something from g3 and that bit in learning to fall sounds exactly like a love eternal

Oh lawd I've gone on a CF rant again
I don't really have anything against any of it, its straight up rock with a dash of Joe in there to jazz it up but re releasing something 5 month's later is taking the proverbial piss

Skippygirl - for once, I did that deliberately....

I mean, I did pretty much hand it to you (!?)... no wait, I served it up on a plate for you (hmm, snags anyone!?)... no, hang on a minute.... I meant to say I put it out there so you could knock it out of the park.... oh sh**, I'll quit now

mino0472 - I'd say it's fairly unlikely, out of respect to the artist if nothing else. I have a replica for sale if you're interested....

Michelle - glad to provide five minutes of fun (oh carp, there I go again). Just for the record though, "get a rise" is a universal term isn't it? Or is it? As where I come from it doesn't mean that and so now I'm curious

Sounds like you all celebrated MA today. Send a Happy Birthday to your boy from me

Satriella - oh, well that's just perfect isn't it. My rise in the bedroom made you giggle... nuff said there, reputation in tatters LOL

Burly - you're obviously doing everything you can, and some great advice there. Keep her seeing the positives, and look after yourself too

Do The Stu - nice find on the teaser. Where'd you pull that from?

where did all those other posts spring from....

Scubadaz - oh yeah, fair play mate, definitely got your priorities right. Doesn't sound like a wimp out, no worries, just be good to see some of your covers

Don1963 - woah... cool. I saw the mothership a month or so back... and this isn't a photo I took at the time

Cheese101 - I uploaded a nice pic for you on twidder. Hope you likes it ; )

Blue Moon - say how you feel man! See what you're saying, Good to have you back

Right, gnite all

Honestly, the idea of a rerelease bugs me too...especially so soon. But I'm hoping the DVD is cool enough to where it'll be worth the cost of the entire package, and I'll just pretend the duplicate CD isn't there.

I doubt it's the band's intention, but it sure does look like a cash grab (in the same way that the Coldplay lawsuit looks like a cash grab to non-fans). I bet the bonus DVD will help convince casual fans who haven't bought the album yet, but I think the idea of a rerelease will also turn off some fans who already have it. So I'd say it's a gamble as to whether the band will come out ahead, in the end.

I also wonder how Best Buy will handle the release. The album went gold (500,000 shipments), but I don't think actual sales have topped 400,000 yet. I doubt it'll be a Best Buy exclusive, but will they just put this on the shelves next to the older album without the DVD? If so there almost certainly will be a price difference.

The CD was $10 and the vinyl was $20...I'll be happy as long as the "deluxe" version can be found for less than $15 during release week. I'll be buying it regardless, since the Soap On A Rope video is included and I'm in a few of the crowd shots at the Fillmore. But still... ;-)

And all my complaints as a die-hard fan aside, I really am excited to see some of this in-studio footage. I love getting an inside look at the creative process like this.

...Austin...

Check this out...

My hubs and I took our son to Red Lobster for dinner. After we were seated for a few minutes, I hear a woman say "Do you know Steve Vai?" to the waiter. That perked up my attention! Then she says "My son plays guitar in Steve Vai's band". I spun around and said "Are you Dave Weiner's parents!" and they proudly said they were. lol! I blurted out that I love DW and even follow him on twitter. lol! I then had a squash my excitement and contain myself and let them continue their convo with the waiter. I didn't want to be rude. lol! I smiled through our whole dinner - giddy as hell. lol! When they were done eating, we were done also. They came over to our table and talked DAVE for about 10 - 15 minutes! We told them that we were fans of Dave's and have his cd, and a Got Riffs shirt, and all that good stuff. His dad didn't catch me on to many things I didn't know. He asked me if I had the new dvd - WTWTA, and I said no, but I'd heard good things about it. They raved that I had to get it, so I promised them I would. lol! Then he asked me if I have Live in Astoria - yes sir I do! They were so proud that Steve mentioned them in the band intros. Dave's mom mentioned that she makes seasoned pretzels for Steve, and he absolutely loves them. I told her she needed to give him some more to put a little speck on him. She nudged me and says "He's a vegan. He's gonna stay thin." lol! We went back and forth, and I told them we were huge Joe fans. They said Joe was a very nice guy, to which I picked up my cell phone off the table and showed them the pic of me and Joe on my phone wallpaper. lmao! Dave's dad says "Yep, that's Joe!" We talked about Steve, Billy Sheehan (he's a shy boy), G3, and Dave's cd - you name it, we covered it! lol! They were bragging on Dave, and I was bragging on Joe. lol! I did make sure to tell his mom that every single time we've seen Dave off the stage, he's always been so nice and polite, and she should be proud. Believe me, she is - they both are, and rightfully so! I also told her not to tell Steve, but we like Dave better. They laughed.

We shook hands and I introduced my family, and off they went. Of course, as soon as we left the restaurant we headed to Best Buy to buy the dvd! LOL! Now it's time to crack it open and see what everyone is on about.

What a cool night!

I best call me mum first for a check. She sounds so much better than she did Tuesday night.
