Hey,
'tis a sad day for rock. "Mitch Mitchell passed away
13th November 2008 aged 61". I heard you did a special one off gig with Mitch and Billy as a tribute to Jimi, how cool would it be to release it as a tribute to the Experience?
Just a thought as i never got to attend the one off gig.
All the best Croujdane.

This post was meant for tuesday but I spaced it out.
It is dedicated to my heroes...my three grandfathers.....James McCarthy WWI ....Charlie Anthony WWII ....Charlie Coates WWII (killed in France - D Day 1944). No one...and I mean no one had more guts than those three guys and anyone else who fights for our freedom. God bless 'em.
Ok...we can go back to talking about music 'n stuff ;)
slanshroom...they're a bit young for those kinds of vices but I'll keep an eye on them nonetheless...lol.

Hey Joe.
I saw you on Oct 16th at Massey Hall, what a great show. You played such a great set list, first time i heard time machine. Was such an inspiring night of music. I enjoyed your jam with leslie as well, you guys are both awesome guitar players. Hope to see you again sometime soon in G3 or something awesome like that.
Cheers from a canadian fan

DO THE STU- Married life is going great thanks, i'll get the photos on when i learn how to do it, i'm not very technical i'm afraid. Did you know the Snakes and Arrows tour is coming out on DVD and Blue Ray later in the month, looking forward to that. GOLDEN GIRL 2 - Thank you for saying hello and for your good wishes, we got married in Florida but i did have my Kilt on, and we had a Piper at our reception back home, thats as Scottish as we got i'm afraid, and i totally agree with you, you only get out of Marriage what you put in. I have a lot of family in California, they live in Cerritos and Downey around the L.A. area, is that close to you? Have a great day everyone.

Me again, forgot to say, I entered a competition to win a pair of tickets to see Opeth on our local Rock Radio station, just because i had nothing else in particular to do. Guess what? I won, i've never heard an Opeth tune in my puff.

Today confirms that I am NOT a morning person! Holy Canoli! My supervisor at work wants me to attend a "party" (Library Page Meeting for us shelvers in children's dept.) and I am swamped with paperwork, bills, a dirty house, a car in need of service and a billizion other things! OMG!!!!!!
Michelle--My fevah isn't fatal. It's just a desire to meet Joe's fans face-to-face, especially Al! ;) I will live and get over it unless my demonic selfish side wins!
SuperDave--My heart still goes out to you, Man!! What a sacrifice to have to sell such a valuable box! Also, your kids seem like normal young ones to me. The youngest are so excited about life they want to be awake as soon as possible to enjoy it. The teens are going through that point in life where raging hormones are taking over their bodies and it can be shocking and rather exhausting to them, so they need at least 9 or 10 hours sleep a night. The fact that you mentioned them on this posts shows that you are a caring father. What more could they ask for?
Campbell--I live in the San Francisco Bay area (Central California) which is nearly 400 miles away from Cerritos and Downey, which are in Southern California. I grew up in the L.A. area, Orange County and Imperial County. I moved up north to go to San Jose State University. Your Scottish--Florida wedding must have been a heavenly experience for you and your bride. Congratulations! Hope ya have many happy years together.
Slans--You are so right about Pro Musicians on tour having their lives together. AND the missess at home needs to have her life together as well. She needs to have a beautifully framed picture of her husband/boyfriend at her bedside. This is so important for staying bonded and in touch with the love of her life. Telephones are sooo important--mobiles especially. I wonder if land lines are going the way of the dinosaurs. Mr. Bell invented a great telecommunications device, but I'm not sure what he would think of the latest technology.
Castle 49---"Fire on the hill all night"? What are you talking about?
All the best to everyone at the next 2 Satch Shows! Have fun and safe travels.
Gotta get back to my other obligations.

Golden Girl - You are in CA so I am sure you have heard of the fire in SB. No wind now so the flames are not visable like they were last night. Two of my co-workers are evacuated from their homes and many friends likewise. The bad part of living in CA.

Golden Girl 2:Its a whole lot easier in that line of work being single!
Tikimon San: First off, great t see another Martial Artist on the forum, from the sounds of it you have been a VERY active man n if I may say so from how you come across a positive minded one at that even if yer getting on like me...39yrs huff puff wheres my Iron Lung lol.So I leave you t read again which you probably have many times? Bruce Lees ideas on Martial Art Styles, its totally applicable t music in every way
Wisdom beyond the grave..Bruce Lee on Style
To reach the masses, some sort of big organization (whether) domestic and foreign branch affiliation, is not necessary. To reach the growing number of students, some sort of pre-conformed set must be established as standards for the branch to follow. As a result all members will be conditioned according to the prescribed system. Many will probably end up as a prisoner of a systematized drill.
Styles tend to not only separate men - because they have their own doctrines and then the doctrine became the gospel truth that you cannot change. But if you do not have a style, if you just say: Well, here I am as a human being, how can I express myself totally and completely? Now, that way you won't create a style, because style is a crystallization. That way, it's a process of continuing growth.
To me totality is very important in sparring. Many styles claim this totality. They say that they can cope with all types of attacks; that their structures cover all the possible lines and angles, and are capable of retaliation from all angles and lines. If this is true, then how did all the different styles come about? If they are in totality, why do some use only the straight lines, others the round lines, some only kicks, and why do still others who want to be different just flap and flick their hands? To me a system that clings to one small aspect of combat is actually in bondage.
This statement expresses my feelings perfectly: 'In memory of a once fluid man, crammed and distorted by the classical mess.'
On creating your own personal way of fighting....again its the same for music
Learn the principle, abide by the principle, and dissolve the principle. In short, enter a mold without being caged in it. Obey the principle without being bound by it. LEARN, MASTER AND ACHIEVE!!!
Knowledge in martial arts actually means self-knowledge. A martial artist has to take responsibility for himself and accept the consequences of his own doing. The understanding of JKD is through personal feeling from movement to movement in the mirror of the relationship and not through a process of isolation. To be is to be related. To isolate is death. To me, ultimately, martial arts means honestly expressing yourself. Now, it is very difficult to do. It has always been very easy for me to put on a show and be cocky, and be flooded with a cocky feeling and feel pretty cool and all that. I can make all kinds of phoney things. Blinded by it. Or I can show some really fancy movement. But to experience oneself honestly, not lying to oneself, and to express myself honestly, now that is very hard to do.

slanshroom..39. such a young pup. lol. i'm 52. the tao of JKD is a very useful life tool, not just for MA. absorb what is useful, discard what is not. style of no style is the way for certain. i find that i am a martial artist rather than a person who trains in a specific art. i have been a student of many styles and have mixed them all together to form a homogenous art. i am lucky to have found a like minded instructor who has become a very good friend. you are correct about it in music also. i am influenced by many great guitar players and i do not try to be them but rather take from them what i find interesting and useful. i have a steve vai and joe satriani and a hendrix guitars but i am not any of those guys nor do i want to be. but i do try to emulate the tone or chord phases and solo strutures that i can incorporate into my own style. like my training which i do to better myself, i play guitar for me. it is indeed good to find like minded individuals on this forum not only in the great appriciation of joe and his music but all music and now of the martial arts. by the way, i have had the honor of training with sifu lee's freind and the only man to have his blessing to teach all 3 of his styles, guro dan inosanto. he is an amazing man. my grandmaster is bill "superfoot" wallace. another amazing man.

I just heard from all my peeps in Reno! They're having a great time, and even saw some of the bands members walking around the casino. I was talking to Tracie on the phone and she says to Joan "There's Galen! There! There! Right there in the black jacket!" but he walked past them before she had the chance to say anything. He prolly wasn't close enough for her to yell "HEY GALEN" like I know she wanted to. lol! T and Chris got Stu hugs, so that's always fun! I talked to T, her youngin' Chris, Joan, and the one and only Alan McKenna. lol! I love that guy ffs! lol! Austin and his dad and bro were there somewhere, and Joe Satrini but really Phil hadn't shown up yet. Hope he's okay and makes it in time. Al's having a great time and loves San Fransisco. Dammit I forgot to send him a kiss on the lips from London!
So anyways, CHEERS to friendship and all the peeps who are lucky enough to meet and get together for these shows, and CHEERS to Joe for having this great website to make it all possible!
It's an awesome night, and I'm not even there. lol!
It sucks that I have to work all weekend, cause T was gonna call me during the show and let me listen in like she always does :-) Joe prolly won't hit the stage till after midnight EST, and I have to get up at 5 am. Hopefully they'll leave me a few voice mails to wake up to. lol!
Either way... T got a new camera, so it's all on video *insert extreme grin here*
Shit man yeah! lmao!!
