jrcmusic - I don't know if Joe has done anything like that for a magazine. But I do know that you can go to http://www.guitargeek.com/ and see his touring setup.

hey joe! i just wanted to alert you to some amazing music. i have taken a recent dip into the world of trance (that EOC opened me up to), and there is some amazing stuff out there that you may not have heard of. one group in particular makes some absolutely astounding music. they are called Infected Mushroom. i don't usually talk about music except for joe's on this board, but this song is an exception: it is called symphonatic. please joe, give it a listen. it is sooo amazing. the 2nd best is "bust a move" by the same group - it even has some guitar in it! i urge everyone here to give Infected Mushroom a listen, they are soo good. thanks joe. see you on february 1st, at the fillmore in SF!!!

Mowlie_2000: I did see that video. I realy can't understand people like that. Well, it's Slash so you might expect anything from him... I mean, I treat my guitars (an Ibanez rg and an Ibanez J-Custom <-one of a kind/hand crafted) like they are my penis... Not just because they were expensive but simply because they are instruments. Joe is still playing guitars on stage that are more than 10 years old...I have never seen him destroy one...(and I hope I never will)..

Just one week more and I can go home again!!! Home with my Girlfriend and my guitars! I've been playing my classical guitar for a while now, and I have to say that it is the best exercise you can get. When you play your electrical after that one, man you're soooooo much faster. Everything goes much smoother...! I can recommend it to everyone. Builds up a lot of strength in your fingers, as well as callus. Especially when you try to make the effects like overtones/harmonics, tapping etc., it goes really easy after practicing on a classical guitar (nylon strings!!!).

CHRISTMASS LIST: A big juicy kiss from my girlfriend and a bearhug. Plus a lot of babyclothes for our first child that will be born in May/June (I'm sooooo proud of that...). And my party on the 25th that I throw for my friends, whom I haven't seen in three years, to be a great succes! And, for the rest of the world to feel as happy as I do! That's all!

IT'S STU NOT BOO:Could you please explain to me what LOL means? Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

Sorry for not replying to some of the posts I got last week but I was away for the last week on business and I just cannot get the time to read through 20 pages of new posts. So I will just pickup from here....

PHRYDOM -- About the VST, some of the plugins and things like that have ridiculous latency you are banging out notes on the keyboard and then you hear the notes come out about a second later. Tis an interesting effect if you use an analog synth sound and play real fast notes. Its like a delay pedal only it gives some real cool sounds. However thats no good if I want to record a Piano track for a backing etc. When I used to work as a sound engineer I used to use Cubase version 2.8 and found that to be brilliant of course it doesnt have the features of VST but VST seems to nearly over complicate things. So I think I will invest in one of those KORG 16 track Digital recorders (Or a JS2000 since I will never be able to get a chromy) as that will have a perfect 0 latency built into it etc. Also has some powerful EFX units on it to.

MICK 87 -- Did you get that DVD yet and blast the windows out with it :) I just got it back from my friend here in work and he thought it was the best concert he ever heard. And he didnt even know Joes work as such.

JOE -- Just picked up Strange Beautiful Music and had it with me in the car all during the week, great stuff especially the Cover of Sleep Walk that was amazing, do you play that on tour at the moment????? I see the Stuido work is quite different to the live stuff but I thought maybe even one track with vocals on the studio recordings might have been nice also??? Just an opinion!!! SBM was my first CD, all the other stuff I have of you is on DVD.... But great work!!! I love listening to it everyday without fail!!!!

JOE / ANYONE -- I still never found out what that box Joe uses on stage is called... the one that gives the guitar the Jimi Hendrix sound?? Can anyone help??? Joe?????

Catch ya all later...

Ian.

hey joe! as a new member i wanted to let you know what a cool site this is, and that i've also been a huge fan since 1987. i've collected almost all of your releases, and i am still looking for "additional creations". i know that it was a promo disc that came with engines of creation in limited numbers, but i'm interested in finding a copy for purchase if possible. "turkey-man" is a cool song! i downloaded the national anthem from this site a few days ago, and my co-workers were amazed and impressed! they said it was even better than the hendrix version. thanks for keeping rock music alive!

Drafter37, yes, I have a few Satch tribute thingys. lol! One of my favorites is a framed "collage" type thing with 7 pictures, my aftershow pass, & picks from Joe & Dave LaRue in it from G3 2001. I also have the words I Believe above an angel tattoo on my arm, and a picture of Jeff and I that I treasure. I have a few other pictures in frames around the house and a few signed cd inserts. I keep the inserts in the cases so they don't fade. Great memories.

Speaking of Joe, I was driving around yesterday trying to get some Christmas shopping done, and I was playing a tape I made ~ the EOC tour setlist. Traffic was going so slow and it was jammed up everywhere. I was having my own private concert, smiling and jammin' away, and everyone else was all uptight because of the traffic. I HIGHLY recommend listening to Satch while trying to get from point A to point B during the busy holiday season. SATCH THERAPY! It makes things so much easier to deal with. lol!

McDave, I will never understand ppl. like your landlord. That crusty ol' clueless fart must have a black heart. By putting your kids first, it shows that you are truely a good dad. Go forth and conquer bro!!

Michelle - I listen to Joe everyday and you're right Joe does help you to get from A to B in a much more peaceful mode.

I think all my Christmas shopping is done, what a nightmare, last week I went into one shop and there were just too many people bustling about in there, I came straight out, we went into the joke shop where they were selling sweets to make your teeth black and other sweets that made your tongue blue amongst other things.

Welcome to new members on the site, it's not a bad place to be.

Sunny monster has his last show of the year tomorrow in good ole Brummie land, it's usually a very nice show, lots of Christmas stuff to spoil your pooches with. PHYDOM, perhaps you ought to come and buy some stuff to keep those doggies of yours busy. I will be looking for a harness to strap Sunny monster to so we can go running together and I can have my hands free.

Have a good weekend everyone, Happy Vacation Joe.

LOL Sharon

Hi Joe, first thank for your music because I love it and I learn a lot of things about guitar (technics and feeling) when I studie your songs to play it myself ! I'd like to know if you have made a method where you give advices about the way to compose, create music. Because I often have good ideas such as solos, melodies, but I have a lot of difficulties to make a real entire peace of music. I mean I have an idea in the beginning but I don't know how to work on it to exploit it entirely. Because it's so good and fantastic to compose I think, it's a infinite and passionnated work.

Thank you very much for your answer and sorry for my bad english, I live in Paris.

Sincerly yours.

Nicolas.

ianjf:yeah latency sucks big time! I'm glad I use external MIDI modules and hardware outboard!!! I must admit I'm attracted to the idea of a dedicated hardware recorder though - something that was actually designed and built to do the job it's intended for!!! btw, that pedal is a Fulltone Ultimate Octave. They rule!

I'd love to Sharon, but I have a day visitor tomorrow (doggie day care) and two on Sunday, one of which will be staying overnight. Man I must be crazy!! lol

Enjoy your weekend everyone - I'm gonna be doing the dog thing (no rude comments PLEASE!) and playing some geetar :-) Later, Dave
