Fredjems, on the contrary, ebay isn't so safe. You'd be surprised by the number of people who have shelled out 4 grand for a rare find, and have recieved a carefully packed guitar case, and excitedly unwrapped it and opened it only to find they've been sent a breeze block. ebay is a bastard, I have a personal thing against it cause it tried to take my money twice for the same thing. hehe
tune, no you're right, there is a certain 'magic' (if you like) in the air when Steve is on stage. It's certainly a sort of magic which is, in my opinion, completely absent from his new record. I think the something special that the new record has is the storyline. It would probably work better as a movie soundtrack tha an album. It has grown on me slightly in the last few days, but I'm still not overly impressed. It's fast approaching time for me to go back to listening to Is There Love In Space?
VFR, I take your point about P&W and SWTA being a moment in time that won't be repeated, but I personally feel that Alive In An Ultra World was another moment in time, and it was much more recent than P&W. I know vai has it in him to play and record pure emotion, I know there's still some there cause you see it when he performs, but it'd be nice if he could channel some of it into his studio recordings like he did a few years ago. Also, I think Joe has had a massive shot of feeling and emotion coming into his composition with ITLIS? Each time I listen to it I hear more expression and feeling than before....I think Joe's on a role!
Zinc Master, hahaha, I was able to put a tick-in-a-box next to every one of the "things I hate" in your post! hilarious!
OCPS470, I agree entirely, the wide gate makes it possible to use the Bad Horsie really expressively, I use it as much for tonal adaptation as I do just as a Wah effect......it's like having an extra set of pickups! Either joe uses a modded pedal or he uses a vintage one, and is lucky enough to have one that sounds ace. or maybe it's had it's pot's changed?!

Stevee T, re the interview, thanks. That interview was trying for Joe. Initially we were supposed to have an hour in a quiet meeting room in Joe's hotel but because he was running so late from a spot at Canada's equivalent to MTV, we ended up with only 20-25 minutes in the noisy active bar in the lobby. Joe had to try and concentrate on the questions and answers with all the noise, some lackey reminding him every two minutes how late he was, and the pile of stuff I was expecting him to sign simultaneously! lol Joe is a great multitasker.

And to think, in another 10-15 minutes I was gonna give the interview a "miss" (Joe was running more than 45 minutes late)

OCPS470-------I have a Crybaby JH-1 model, the model built to sound like Jimi Hendrix's wah pedal. I get Joe's wah sound all the time from it, try it out. I faintly remember hearing he uses a JH model.

To all you crazy Satch fans: Have a good, and drive safe. :)

VH1 To Debut 'The Fabulous Life of Mötley Crüe' Next Week

On Wednesday, March 2 at 11:00 p.m. EST, VH1 will debut "The Fabulous Life of Mötley Crüe". An episode description on VH1's web site reads as follows:

"In 1980, Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Vince Neil were just four guys living in a trashy apartment off the Sunset Strip. By 1987, they were rock gods who could afford to trash anything they wanted. From their personalized tour jet to their vintage guitars to their all-access groupies, nothing was off limits to MÖTLEY CRÜE. If you think bling, Gucci and Maybachs are Fab — think again. Meet the four metal maniacs who invented fabulous: MÖTLEY CRÜE.

"When you're a famous rock star, your life is one big world tour. And no one's world was more intense than the CRÜE's. Their stages were powered by 100,000 watts of sound, 11 tons of equipment and 2,000 lights. And their spandex ensembles? They were the custom-designed to be the pants everyone wanted to get into.

"An all-star band needs an all-star ride. When they weren't on the MÖTLEY CRÜE signature jet, they toured in their 1986 Eagle bus — a tricked-out ride with only one rule: female fans had to enter in the nude. An when they weren't cruising the states in their mobile bachelor pad, the boys were riding in black and tan corvettes and customized Harleys.

"The band eventually tired of the Playboy mansion and the hoards of eager groupies, so they headed down the aisle for wedded bliss. Mud wrestler Sharisse Rudell, who married Neil, and 'Baywatch' beauty Donna D'Errico, who wed Sixx, were not your average desperate housewives. And nothing compared to Tommy Lee's rock star wedding to 'Dynasty' diva Heather Locklear, where the groom wore white leather and the bride dressed in a skin-tight mermaid suit.

"In 2005, after two decades and 13 albums, MÖTLEY CRÜE is back and bigger than ever. Prepare yourselves for the tour of the 21st century. From Milwaukee to Manchester and San Juan to San Diego, the 'Red White and Crüe' Tour is going to rock our world stadium-style. And come February, MÖTLEY's signature arena rock will be blasting in every home across the country with the release of their double-disc greatest hits album. The capper? The CRÜE's even hitting the big-screen with a movie version of their best-selling tell-all book 'The Dirt: Confessions of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band'. Get ready for the biggest comeback in rock and roll history. You won't want to miss The Fabulous Life Classic: MÖTLEY CRÜE."

"The Fabulous Life of Mötley Crüe" show times:

Wednesday, March 2 at 11/10c p.m.

Thursday, March 3 at 11:30/10:30c a.m.

Saturday, March 5 at 1:30/12:30c a.m.

Sunday, March 6 at 1/12c a.m.

Monday, March 7, 2005 2:30/1:30c a.m.

Signs Ronald McDonald Is Growing Up

5> Now prefers to be called Ron McDonald.

4> That telltale bottle of Clairol Fire Engine Red #4 in his shower.

3> Seen with Jack-in-the-Box at strip clubs stuffing fries down g-strings.

2> Three kids injured in unfortunate stubble incident.

and the Number 1 Sign Ronald McDonald Is Growing Up...

1> Has a McBeergut.

I hope you get better real soon. I have had a stomach flu like that before, it is NO fun at all.

In the mean time, please keep all of your germs (and sounds) on your side of the computer screen.

However, you will not feel better until you give it to someone else - just not anyone here at T2J.
