Did anyone watch The Simpsons tonight? I thought the episode contained some of the best moments of the season. Sadly, it also contained many of the worst moments of the season...so it only gets a 7 on my weird rating scale.

mikesb - Thanks for the info about the interview. Let us know if the webmaster gets back to you.

The Prez - Click my "n posts total" button and scroll down to my tenth post. All of my LISF details are listed there. I'm all over the DVD. Don't listen to ovation1. ;-)
mowlie 2000 - Yeah, I got your email. Sorry for not responding right away. I'll write you as soon as I'm done with T2J.
ovation1 - LOL...you're close. ;-) I'm in the third or fourth "row" and I have black hair.
Zachary - Interesting... Yes, there are LOTS of stars in space...but there's a lot of "empty" space as well. A lot of photos of things in space are taken with special filters that block and enhance different kinds of light and gasses that are in space.

I can understand how people may have thought that the moon landing was faked back in 1969, but I don't see how someone can still think that today. Even if the original landing WAS faked (so our government could say we were there before the Soviets), I don't see how someone can still think we don't have the technology to get there now (or that we don't have the technology to do anything else in space). It's impossible to deny that we have satellites up in space now...just look at all of our cell phones, cable channels, and weather images. If we can put those satellites up there, who's to say that we can't land on the moon? Space exploration is similar to underwater exploration (airtight ships and suits, oxygen tanks, etc.). We've obviously done a great deal of underwater exploration (the Titanic, etc.). Why does space exploration seem so far-fetched?

Maybe I'm missing the point of your post...?

michelle - It's always fun when I tell people that Mike Meyers and I share the same birthday. I wonder if Austin Powers was also born on May 25th...?

...Austin...

austin,

what did you see as the "worst moments"?

i thought some of it was hilarious, and agree that some of it was awful, but wonder what got on your list.

ocps - happy 4 hundridf...

mowlie - got your mail... thanx...
ovation - in the lab last night.. 'till around 2:30 this morning.. the 1st rhythm track to the 1st movement of the Raft is cut.... well pleased.. as an experiment, to make sure that I'm on the right tack, I did a lil' de-speriment.. lol

The rhythm guitars will all be recorded stereo.. I replaced the stereo chorus with a dual detune.. the dry guitar sits center with the shifted tone set a touch higher, a few millisecs later, panned left and another shifted tone set a touch lower, a few more millisecs later, panned left.. the overall effect is that of a chorus'd guitar but without the sweep... once the depth, shift and delay settings are found the tone sounds really excited.. the top seems brighter, the bottom fatter and although there is more shit going on and just a plain Jane overdrive, there appears to be better definintion.. very nice... very big..
The intention is to have Envy stereo left, Avarice stereo right and another [not sure if it should be Pride, Lust or Envy] riding over the top L16-R16
so once I'd recorded the 1st rhythm track [1st movement] on Envy and panned the stereo pair L16-L2 so it is still in stereo but pushed over to the left.. I grabbed Avarice, used the same rhythm tone setting, panned R2-R16... just to test my theory - purely in the interests of science.. lol
The overall effect was fabulous... but you have to play - as they say - as tight as a baby's ass-hole....

good experiment.. great results... now to record the remaining 2 movements on Envy, the whole thing on Avarice and then figure out who gets to be the 'wide' guitar..

michelle - mine are 9 and 11 - thinks they're 19 and 21.. jeez you have teens... I have all that to look forward to.. lol lol...

when you post in here, you don't look old enough to have teens... I'd have sworn you wuz they're big sis... lmao..

oh one more thing... another Pennsylvanian to add to your list is Dracula.. lol..

Zach / Do the Stu - just a little guess on my part but... given that stars tend to not exist in isolation but be members of galaxy's and nebulae I could imagine both cases when standing on the moon.. areas of sky that seem to be teeming with stars as you face towards the galaxy, and darker / emptier space as you face away because you not be seeing so many stars.. this is because our sun is located towards the tip and the outer edge of one of the sprial arms of our galaxy.. like living in the suburbs on a high hill.. face one way and it's all countryside.. face the other and it's all city..

so a bright sky and a very empty sky makes sense to me..

just my guess that's all...

Zachary: Hi there! I have the Trembolt installed onto my Ibanez now and it's working great! Thanks a lot bro! btw, I too, believe that NASA is hiding a lot from the general public. As for my little explanation why the other probes that landed on Mars didn't work: Everytime we land a probe on Mars, the martians laugh at our backwards technology and play tricks on us. Such as dismantling the probes so we can't get any info. Hahaha~

Zachary: lol man, on my response would have been a laugh and an OK I dont know what to tell you, I was on the moon and its true. I wouldnt have got so defensive, especially if I had actually walked on the moon. People usually get that defensive when they are caught in a lie.... My sentiments exactly bro!!.... He did the wrong thing, and the other thing that surprised me is the amount of failed landings there on Mars.... Greater than 50% or something like that.... Makes you wonder....

michelle: Think you could send a real Philly Cheesesteak my way and make it double cheese, lol!! ;-).... Oh, and I share my birthday with Demi Moore (Nov 10th) and a Japanese pornstar, haha!!!! LMAO!! ;-)

Plum Loco: lol man, checking them out now.... I like what you did with Arabian Rain Dance, lol, nice whammy pedal effect and Eastern feel with a great explosive solo.... Bright New Day rhythm reminds me of Zeppelin, lol and nice lines although the song is short.... Blues Jam is kuul, lol, your bassist was lost, hehe, but you were playing a nice bluesy section in there.... And I see your a would worker, lol!! ;-) Keep it up Barry, and have fun making music!!....

death cube K: I cannot image -30 /\/\/\R|<!!!! OMG!! Now add the windchill!!.... I get cold just thinking about it!!....

Do The Stu: lol man, I was only 6 rows off, hehe, and the lights make your hair look blonde.... Maybe, hehe ;-)

Clarky: Better definition sounds great man!!... That sounds like a mad experiment, lol!!.... Seems like you got it down, but that must have been difficult to get L16-L2 w/ Envy and Avarice on R2-R16 to sound equal, yet separate.... Hence having to play it tight as a babies arse, lol, I can imagine!!.... I vote Pride for the wide L16-R16 because it has'nt been used yet.... I'm not there with you to hear it, but Envy has been used already, and Pride seems to have that fat tone that would seperate or go over the top better than the others, if you know what I mean.... Have fun in the Lab, and dont forget to put the white jacket on when you enter it, lol!!....

Thank's Narface!!.... :-)

Thin Lizzy.... lol, those were the day's!!.... Philip Lynott thank you....

TASTEY: In all the devistation you must feel, there is one good thing that came out of all this.... Your husband's wake-up call.... He should now realise what a lug he's been and start taking care of you for a change.... Maybe you can give him the benefit of the doubt, and remember, once bitten, twice shy.... ;-)....

Nite all.... ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

....And before I crash.... This has nothing to do with Joe, but IBY (or Dr. Vai's site) claims that the Euphoria is the first Sig Model Acoustic!!.... I beg to differ.... Paul Gilbert had a IBY Sig Acoustic back in the day.... Quote from Dr. Vais site: December 20, 2003: Presenting The Ibanez Steve Vai EP7 Euphoria

It's fitting that the first Ibanez signature acoustic guitar should be inspired by Steve Vai - the artist who has done so much for the evolution not only of Ibanez guitars, but of the guitar itself. Like his ground-breaking signature.... Not trying to start trouble here, but give credit where credit is due.... :-/

DCK, I'm cold sitting here, and it's 36 degrees and raining outside. Almost tropical compared to where you're at. Take care bro and stay inside!

Austin, I'll send you a picture. My cat Stewart looks just like Mike Myers :)

Clarky, ahhh, the good old days of 9 & 11. lol! Mine went back to school today ;-D I think these Christmas holidays get longer and longer. I keep reminding myself that I can stop gritting my teeth now. lol! Speaking of teeth, wasn't Dracula from Romania? lol! TRANsylvania dude, not PENNsylvania. LOL!!

Stacy, sometimes the biggest lessons in life are the hardest ones. Hopefully your husband will realign his priorities and things will change for the better. I said at the beginning that we sometimes put our old flames up on a pedistal and make them so much better than they really were/are. The grass is always greener on the other side...or is it? Everything happens for a reason, so maybe his breif visit was a wake-up call for you and your husband. I hope things work out for you.

Mikey, a double cheesy cheesesteak - mmmmmm!

I hope Trutina gets well really soon, everybody here miss his posts.

Lucky Europe, they might have a G3 tour, Cool!. Can't wait for the DVD.

A little late, Felíz Año Nuevo to all! I'm back at work after a two week, well deserved, too short, full of fun vacations.

I finally have my DVD Live at Astoria, Wow, always Impressive to see Vai in action. It brought back memories because in the G3 tour here in Monterrey, Mexico, the same band played and Vai also came blind folded. Wonderful memories!

Regards amigos.
