r6rocker - dude, the DCB tour was postponed until early next year [which is why I naff'd off to Spain to visit the ol' girl]. As soon as I know the new dates and venues I'll let you know. I'm pretty sure that David wants to play in London at least once... Spain was real cool... I got me a nice tan and taught both of my boys to swim..... # : )

Yoda - folks not visiting your site is normal..... look at it this way.... you post up some stuff... you let folks know.. they go to your site an check it out [maybe leave some kind words too]... they download the stuff they like [so they have a copy forever]..... there is now no need to go back there until you announce that there are fresh tunes to be heard..... when I look at my 'site stats', you see a great deal of activity when the ste opened and then it slows right down.... I've not added any new stuff so there is not much of a rason for folks to go there... Add new tunes and let folks know they are there..... You'll then see your site activity rise a little...

Thank's Clarky, all is well here dude!! We have been in Typhoon Condition 1E (Emergency) since 9:00am yesterday (Wed)...Current local time is now 8:53pm Thurs.!! Winds gusting to 120 kts at the center!! When the eye came over it was 3 hrs. or so of silence....Then came the wind pounding from the other end of the storm as it passed by....This is Typhoon Alley, as you may know, and it's not too much of a problem because the homes are made of reinforced concrete! Tree's and power lines etc. don't fair as well though :-0 .... BTW, Spain sounds like a great place!! Lots of tradition, and the people are awesome (like here).. Stay kuul dude :-)

JS1, Rich: I finally saw a pic of the PGM10th at another section of ibanezrules....Beautiful guitar, as you stated!! I was also browsing through the DNA's....Awesome guitars, Awesome guitars.....That's all I can say!!

SBM is starting to grow on me song by song....New last Jam is kick ass as well as The Traveller, Oriental Melody, Mountain Song!! That's for right now....It's amazing how JOE's music will grow on you if it didn't right at the start....

Hi there igg! Welcome :-)

Peace all, /\/\ike

Glad to hear ur back safe and sound Clarky, I'll be looking forward to some more pearls of wisdom...

Just got me a Ds-1 on ebay, any suggested settings, I say one guys review on harmony-central.com saying the best way to use it is just as a volume bosst to increase sustain and let the amp do the distortion... that can't be right???

S'later... Phatman

Ovation - My mother lives in Mijas which is right down on the south coast. The music down there is tremendous... it's all Moorish and Flamenco. You can really hear the clashing and blending of Europe and North African styles... There are some mean players down there.. all finger style, lightning fast on some of the nastiest nylon strung guitars that I've ever seen.. The amazing thing is how fast they are when playing softly, normally and hard... like no difference but with so much dynamics... maybe I need to introduce these guys to Ibanez... lol

Whojacq, Bombays sound like cool cats. Sleek black kitties are cool, but my heart always goes for the orange ones. Guess they remind me of my husbands first cat Howie. What a wild personality that boy had! He played fetch and used his hands (yes folks, cats have hands) to open cabinets and get into all sorts of trouble. A few months ago I got a collage frame with 4 openings in it to pay tribute to our cats, past & present. Howie got the top slot, Leo & Lumpy share the middle, & Moey has the bottom. Oldest to youngest (ha! just like a mom puts her kids in order, right?) As for the chat, Windows XP won't let me dl Java or something. I gave up trying.

Phy3, thanks. I know my kitties are in good hands and that helps alot.

Hi, I've been a guitar teacher for a number of years now, and I though that I'd share afew thoughts today. One of my students decided that he wanted to learn how to play Tender Surrender(s.vai), so we started working on the tune together. He got all the melody parts up til the solo. When it came to playing the lead he just couldn't get it to sound like the disc. Technically he was capable of pulling of the licks but, there was a certain element missing. Feel. When discussing this with him I asked if he ever worked on playing what he was feeling at the moment, putting the days events into a musical statement. The answer.........no. He said that about 90% of his practice time was used running scales, arpeggio's & other technical exercises. The point behind all this is that sometimes you have to put technique aside and play what's in your heart to truely reach that level where you & your instrument are one. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not bashing shred, instrumental music such as Vai, Satch, Yngwie, & Jason Becker is a large part of my influence. The one comment I left my student to think about was this - if you practice typing everyday you will become quite fast, but that doesn't mean that you will write the next great novel. Remember it's what's inside each of you that makes us all unique individuals, & players. Along the same lines, the song of the day is "I Will Remember You" - Sarah McLaughlin

I know I am probably behind in the times by asking, but why exactly is Stu Hamm no longer the bassist. I caught the Cleveland show expecting to see Stu. Matt is very good, and seems to fall in well with Joe's style, especially on the new stuff, but being a bass player, I was a little let down not seeing Stu, since I did on the Live in San Fran. DVD. Just curious....

Master Yoda - Your songs are cool. I've only listened to them a few times, but I REALLY like the first one...Crimson. Great job!

danny k - I never thought of comparing guitar playing to typing, but the analogy is a great one.
bassfiend - You kind of answered your own question there. Stu isn't the bassist on this album because he is more of a fusiony bassist, and Joe wanted to make a rock album. Matt's a good rock bassist, so that's why Joe used him.

Thanks to Jeff for the help with my home work! Soory to see such a large storm down south! Hope U R all okay. Master yoda: Most of us are envious that u at least can post your music! The rest of us being non-tech-oids have trouble with that stuff. NOT enough understanding of the tech, and /or not enough $ to complete the process. Like clarky said, maybe they are to busy listening!! One good thing...no one will be stealing your ideas..........You have a great sound. Keep with it. I know you will despite any thing I say. Try to remember not all people will love every thing you do every time. Joe has been hot with that of late, and look how long he has been at it!!!!. Bless you.
