Hey Jazzzzzzzzzzzy, nice to see you back and hi backatcha! Was gettin worried about you, you were so silent! Great news again about the acceptance into the MBA program and that they finally have the kinks worked out! Nothing like a little stress to put someone six feet under for awhile! Do you have any idea yet what area of business you want to go into?...marketing, advertising, product development....? I bet you're going to do really well with the program! Now you can relax and enjoy the Christmas holiday! Cheers!

Is there love in Romania?

Just got back from a number of days in Romania doing a humanitarian mission. Things were pretty bleak. I bought "is there love in space" the night before I left and listened to it for the first time on the flight over from Los Angeles.

I was working at an orphanage and after I walked the children to school I would walk around the area taking photos listening to Joe on my little walkman.

The two songs that have had the most impact are "is there love in space and If I could fly.

LOVE IN SPACE reminds me of the feeling of being alone during my walks on the bleak streets. http://home.pacbell.net/taylor42/Romaniadec.html

IF I COULD FLY reminds me of the high I would get being around the children of the orphanage. These children are being raised with so much love and they want to share that love so much. Being back in the states now I still feel bit depressed not being able to be with them. http://home.pacbell.net/taylor42/decrom.html

There are 2 sisters who I would like to try and adopt, unfortunatly Foreign adoptions are not happening and it drags me down a little. http://home.pacbell.net/taylor42/adopt.jpg

All in all it was a great trip and the sound track was the CD "Is there love in Space". Even now when I listen to this cd the memories flood back and play like a movie in my head.

So thanks for the great tunes Joe. Your music always seems to be like a soundtrack of emotions. Highs and lows just like the all of us go through in the short life we live here on mother earth.

DarkenedDesign: It may be difficult, but try doing what Jimi Hendrix did and put the strings on backwards, so you can flip your guitar over and play left-handed; it's pretty tough and time consuming, especially if you haven't been playing for long, but it'll pay off.

Clarky: I'm thinking of doing either an Apollo 13 Rock opera, or a Rock opera from the perspective of the first chimp NASA sent into space. haah! I want it to have the feel of Dream Theatre's "Scenes from a memory" to kind of poke fun at the genre. What do you think?

DCK: Any opinions on the Fender Tonemaster? I've got a friend that has one for sale and I may be checking it out.

If Joe Satriani were to make another album....what should it be?

A Masterpiece to blow all of his past works away?

pp0 I only have the DS1 of Joe's gear, but I have the line6 spider with the floor board; also own some Boss pedals like the flanger, super phaser and an old chorus.
Also own an old Kustom III Lead Head an 4x12 cab, late 70´s early 80's.
Main guitars Ibanez rg270 and a fender Squier stratocaster.
Hopefully Santa brings me the Boss ps-5 or the digitech whammy (would not be bad getting all Joe's Gear, but I haven´t been such a good boy haha) = )

Hi Joe,I just bought tickets to your show in Melbourne Australia for my eldest son, youngest son and his wife as well as myself. This will be the third time I will have been to your show and I can't wait! As a real " hack " guitar player my boys always nagged me to teach them and so I used a lot of your articles/lessons to help them and me as well.

Your music is always playing a my place and I believe my youngest son paid you the ultimate honour by dancing the Bridal Waltz at his Wedding to " Always with me ,Always with you ".

It was great!

Anyway will catch you Downunder in March 2005.

Hi everyone. I've been away for the past few days because I'm having computer problems. I don't know if I'll get things fixed before the upcoming Satch shows in San Francisco, so I thought I'd make a quick post...

Even though I've been quiet here lately, I'm still looking forward to meeting up with a lot of T2Jers at both the 12/26 and 12/27 shows. So...please look for me (I'll be in line a few hours before the doors open on both nights.) and say "hey"... If you don't know what I look like, click here or here.

I'll have a cell phone with me at both shows...email me privately (at the AOL address listed in my profile) and either ask for my number or give me yours...that way, we can find each other while we're waiting in line.

Well...hopefully I can get my computer problems sorted out soon. Until then...

...Austin...
