WOW!! Super Colossal is another milestone in your expanding musical offerings. Outstanding and sophisticated is how I would describe it. Especially your ballads, “Ten Words” and “A Love Eternal”. “Just Like Lightnin” is another beauty.
While we missed you touring last year, it was obviously a small price to pay if it allowed you the time to compose the “Super Colossal” CD.
I have seen you every year you come to Toronto and this April will be the latest addition, however, if you need to take 2007 off to produce another gem like your latest CD, I don’t think you will get much argument from most of your fans.
By the way, if you played the entire new CD on tour this spring, most of your fans would walk away quite happy. An outstanding effort Joe!!

Joe, because there's no Ireland dates this time around I'm travelling to Glasgow to catch the show. Any chance you'll play Time Machine this time round? I know you played it on the US leg of the 'Strange Beautiful' tour but I dont think you've ever played it in Europe. Thanks anyway....

Dear Joe,
I've heard that you met Andrea Quartarone, the uncle of one of my best friends. What do you think about him. Also, I've bought both books of the CD's 'Crystal Planet' and 'The Extremist', but in which order should I learn them?

Good Morning Satchland...... What Up?
SteveeT / gottahavejoe.......Thanks for the well wishes. I'm feeling great today. Just a tad bit of the cold left but I'm good.
SteveeT......Where you movin' too? Sorry if I missed you posting this info.
gottahavejoe.....I missed your reply post about your sis. Sorry. I'm glad things are working out for you with her. It's all about family. I could only wish my family thought that way......That's another story. Hugs
Captain Steve...... Ha Ha ! ! !.... That's why the joke went over my head. I've never heard of Kenco coffee before. Great sense of humour. Thanks. Speaking of which.....How's this for a slogan:
" One sip of Kenco Coffee and you'll feel like a Rock Star "
Satriella.....How are you? Thanks so much for signing our guest book. I was able to play the songs fine from my PC at work. Please try again. When you hit the play button....it takes about 5 to 10 seconds to load the song. Let me know. I'm glad you like the new pics. More to come. Hugs.
Cindy and I are going to see Joe this Wed. April 5th at The House of Blues. Can't wait. It's going to be awesome.Joe starts his Super Colossal Tour tommorow in Dever,Co.
Joe....Good Luck with the tour. Be safe, have fun and play your ass off like we know you will. Take Care
Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! !

Cliff, thanks for the report on the Gary and BB show! Oh I can't wait, sounds like it's going to be a really great night on sunday!
gruskada, since you mentioned it from the FAQ page, the Top Gun theme was, to my knowledge, done by Steve Stevens.
Also, I can't honestly imagine Joe would have recorded Beethoven's 5th. There's a load of other people who would though.
Joe/webmaster, re: the online newsletter: How can we accurately update our setlist preferences with songs from the new album when we're not even able to buy it yet?
ie. the setlist for the WORLD tour is going to be decided by the preferences of one country. Why am I not surprised?!
excel, wicked, thank you! I'll send it in a few weeks!
juggernaut, you could try Joe's new DiMarzio bridge pickup, the Mo'Joe. I would guess that that is his favourite, since it's now going in the JS's!
You should get pretty decent results from the FRED or Mo'Joe in your Strat.....just keep in mind that the more powerful the bridge pickup, the more likely it is that you'll need to change the middle and neck pcikups to compliment it.
I can thoroughly recommend a DiMarzio Virtual Vintage 2.1 for the neck position. It's a single-coil sized humbucker that sounds just like a strat single, but it's got some power too so you can get a really nice bluesy sound out of it.

I am also looking forward to my first Joe Satriani Live Experience...
I have been an active listener for 8-10 years, and have ALL of Joe's studio and live albums (just need to find a couple of imports...)
But I haven't had the opportunity to go to one of the cities on his previous tours, due to distance or schedule.
This time he's coming to the Orpheum in Omaha. A great venue, by the way. I am VERY much looking forward to monday evening.
I listed a half a dozen or so of my VERY FAVORITES on my setlist suggestion, but I didn't list any from Super Collosal, because I haven't yet listened to it. There is a reason. I certainly do want Super Collosal tracks played in the setlist.
I am not sure if I want to listen and absorb the tunes for the first time from the studio recordings, or from the live stage, and I have been holding off so far. I have thought about waiting and buying the CD at the venue, or retail immediately afterward, but so far I think I am going to wait and listen for the first time directly from Joe himself.
Am I wrong, should I buy and blast the CD before the concert?
I am also hoping that a few tunes in the setlist will be a good sampling from Joe's previous blues, harder rock, and smooth ballad style selections.
And "Into the Light" played live would probably be the COOLEST THING EVAR! I've always thought that would make a huge closer. Definitely top of my list, although the whole list should be the top of the list.

Joe...I'd really like to contribute to your cause by purchasing a raffle ticket, but you don't bother to stop in Minnesota anymore.
Why don't you offer them up at your website? So maybe some of us unfortunate fans who get snubbed from the tour at least have a chance to win one of those guitars?
My wife bought tickets for John Prine who will be visiting Duluth in May. I may have to buy one of HIS CD's, because apparently I have to re-evaluate how I spend my hard earned money.

OCPS - I didn't mention the diminished scales because they're hardly 'key'; just nice options for outside playing.
By the way, you may want to re-think your use of the half/whole diminished scale on minor chords - it's much more suited to functioning dominant chords because of the b4 (enharmonic to a major third). The whole/half scale is a great choice for minor vamps, however.
Half/whole = dominant
Whole/half = diminished
