No complaints as it adds more depth to the sound. I never cared for the mod effects on my Pod system, as they seem either minor or the overall effect was not to my liking. But the Eventide is rather nice.

Far Rider

Welcome to Satch Wonderland!! Many here including myself will tell you that Crystal Planet is their favourite. I'll give you a list of all his album starting from favourite to the least so it can give you an idea.

I'm excluding Live CD's

1-Crystal Planet 2-Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards 3-Strange Beautiful Music 4-Flying in a Blue Dream 5-Surfing with the Alien 6-The Extremist 7-Time Machine 8-Not Of This Earth 9-Is There Love in Space? 10-Professor Satchafinkilus and The Musterion of Rock 11-Super Colossal 12-Engines of Creation 13-Joe Satriani

But they are all good though and its something rare to be able to say that about an artist.

As Do The Stu mentioned, Live in San Francisco is a must have!

Welcome Far Rider......

I have been playing for 30+ yrs and listening to Joe since the 1st album. He is the player's player.

on a note of my own stupidity!

Joe I can not wait to see you on Dec the 7th in Cincinnati and I promise if I get lucky enough to get the aftershow passes again. Like I did in 07' at the G307 show. I will heed your advise that I stupidly ignored at the Taft Theater at the G307 show. I will turn on the flash so this time I get a good picture with you. Please ooh please!!

Thanks!!

Gone........

logic. i spend my time just piddling with the vibrato and rotary sounds but i am really digging the vibrato. i am starting to zero in on some of the classic 60's vibrato sounds i grew up with. as used by jimi and now joe. i am just now cracking the chorus and phaser.

I just saw a post on Facebook that legislation has been introduced in Texas that is supposedly similar to what Arizona is battling with the Fed's about right now (SB1070).
I haven't read any specifics yet, but I hope this doesn't mean another boycott; especially with shows already scheduled!

Anyway, I'm sure most of you have already heard, but Kenny Wayne Shepherd is scheduled to appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night. He will be playing the "Woodstock Strat" that Jimi Hendrix played during the Woodstock festival, and then the guitar will make its way to the Beacon Theater for the Experience Hendrix show where it will be passed around among those performing that night.

First time in over 40 years that guitar will have been played!! I know they are trying to "spread the word", but this is kind of sad I think. This guitar is a priceless price of art IMO, and it sure as hell shouldn't be taken out of the museum to be PLAYED by ANYBODY! EVER!

I wonder if Janie Hendrix has plastered the Authentic Hendrix Logo all over Jimi's guitar now that it is going out on tour.

Ian

Dear Mr. Satriani, My son, Nathan, is 14 years old and he idolizes you. When he found out that you were coming to WA State on January 8, 2011, he was so excited. You should have seen the disappointment on his face when he found out that the Venue was for 21 years and older only. He watches your DVDs because he likes your style, they way you shred, your finger tapping and pinching. He hopes to someday meet you and even wrote an essay about that when he was in 6th grade. He has been playing the guitar for almost 5 years now. I hope that the next time you return to WA State, it will be open to all ages. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Sincerely, Presley320

I think for the die-hard Hendrix fans, and I'm talking about those people who grew up with him and possibly saw him in concert (I know of one such person), seeing that guitar and hearing it being played would be an honor and a prescious moment to charish (to sound gushy). A guitar was made to be played and not to collect dust in a museum. Certainly it should be preserved for historic purposes, but to have it on stage with skilled musicians for one concert is not a crime, but a tribute to the man's memory. Jimi did enough smashing and burning of guitars (destroyed them) that I doubt he would have minded world-class musicians playing his axe in a tribute concert. In any case, met Billy Cox at the Toronto tribute concert. Wanted to meet Vai, but not sure where he was at or if he was coming down to the main lobby afterward. I left about an hour after the concert.

Wow what a great gig on Tuesday 19th October! We met up with our old friends John and Sylv in the pub down the road, along with their friends and family, NJ Beast then joined us too. Off we all went to the Apollo and went to our seats, not many were there for the start of Simon Mcbride which was a shame as he played a very good set with some real rocking and loud stuff! Dave (my boyfriend) recognised his name as soon as he saw the ticket and remembered seeing him on a TV programme about child prodigys about 15 years ago, he was playing Joe better than Joe at the time LOL and there was an interview in his bedroom with Posters of Joe and Steve etc on his wall, so what a dream come true to be supporting his idol!...we saw him in the foyet afterwards and had a long photo shoot, signing and chat, very broad irish accent which was hard to understand at times, but he was a very nice and patient man. The unfortunate thing about the gig as far as Joe was concerned was that it was like piccadilly circus with people coming and going for drinks etc more than I have ever seen at a gig...twas ridiculous that the security were hot on telling people off for taking photos yet people getting up and down was fine! I dont see the logic...that was far more distracting than a flash going off! All that aside the gig was fantastic, some old classics in there were good to hear, I especially enjoyed Big Bad Moon as Joe sings and plays harmonica so well. A lot of other classics were in there like Why, always with me always with you, ice 9, Flying in a blue dream, Mystical Potato Head, where Joe admitted to not listening on the phone, Memories, Hoards of Lucusts, Wind in the Trees, Crystal Planet, Love Thing, Light Years Away, Piric victoria, Premonition, andalucia, Satch Boogie & Summer Song, wormhole Wizards, Dreamsong &...a favourite of mine from the new album Littleworth Lane all played fanastically well ! I do have to say that I didn't like the keyboards much, it wasOk when it blended in the background but there were a number of times where it drowned Joe out....if I was into piano I would go see Elton John or Richard Clayderman or whoever plays keyboards! I know that Galen and Joe were not happy with the general sound, Joe was making many gestures to the side as was galen. Tried to see Joe out the back afterwards but unfortunately, we saw them all in the van, but it drove past us...boo hoo...should have laid in the road.

THANK YOU JOE FOR COMING TO THE UK AND PLAYING SUCH AN AMAZING SHOW!

LOVE YOU

Hugs Satriella xx

Well good news peeps. We have found a second gtr and a drummer. Both played in a Rush tribute band so the chops are there and both are really nice guys. Right now they are learning our current material while putting their own spin on them. Hopefully by Jan we will be writing new material. I will post recordings as they come in. We also have a vocalist coming in this week so we'll see how that goes.

Meantime I'm still waiting for the Roo Balckberry App to come out. :)

Far Rider - Welcome! - Are you a Dweezil fan too? Have you seen the Hendrix/Zappa guitar "restored" (using that term loosely)?

anibur - I don't know WT$#@! that ZZ thing was!

cheese101 - thanks for the 3rd Allen blog update!

Satriella - Thanks for the great review, stunned that you were not digging the Keneally keys, but I guess if the mix is off it can just overpower Joe & that's never a nice thing. I'm still really looking forward to seeing Mike play, hopefully the sound will be nicely balanced in Montréal. And yes, you should have laid down in front of the van! LOL ;0)

Peace Lily - Thanks for the link from Budapest!

I don't know of anyone has posted this before but I laughed my ass off (it's true! I now have no ass!) watching this vid of dude playing Satch Boogie on Telecaster ukulele (a T-Kulele?!). Well done, considering. And just when I thought my mind was well & truly BLOWN.. I watched this guy! *head explodes*

smooches,
» Phy³
