It seems I'm alone with this EOC opinion!!!

I love every other JS album, but this one just can't seem to get through...

Do you guys/gals love ALL of his albuns? What's your least favourite album?

Well, just out of curiosity, here are my fav albuns:

- Strange Beautiful Music - Crystal Planet - SwtA / FiaBD (can really distinguish them)

Pip55 - Hmmm...I don't remember hearing about any problems like that with Eric. It sounds familiar that Joe and band had customs problems at a show a few years ago...but I thought that was going into Canada, not coming back.

He definitely hasn't had a falling out with Joe, or anything like that...if you look close you'll see his name in the liner notes of everything since EOC (as well as CP and G397).

He did work on the GNR live compilation that came out a few years ago, and was also doing Chinese Democracy stuff...I bet that's kept him busy and paid well enough for him to not have to do much else.

ptrocker - I hear a lot of feeling on EOC, it just sounds different. ;-)

I'm pretty sure EOC and JS95 are the two albums of Joe's that have sold the fewest copies...so I'd guess that's why we don't hear many of those songs live or hear those styles again on newer albums. It's a bit disappointing, but I guess I understand it.

EDIT - I just saw your latest post, and you're not alone in your opinion...trust me. You're just the only one who spoke up right now. ;-)

joe satriiani - I did four shows in four days last year...that was A LOT of fun, but it did wear me out!

And that's funny about Bubble Spinner...I actually haven't played it for a few weeks, but when I dug up the link to post here I've started doing it again.

Peace Lily - Champagne? is my favorite song on EOC, and one of my favorites overall. Joe's solo section at about the 4:00 mark is some of the best playing I've ever heard from him.

It's been a while since Joe has pushed the boundries creatively, in my opinion...it'd be awesome if his next solo album is "out there" in some way. As he's writing I'm sure he'll want to save some ideas for Chickenfoot, so I wonder what we'll get instead.

Listening to: Dave Matthews Band - Remember Two Things (current song: Christmas Song)

Rayosh-If you could post links to your covers of you versions of the song I personally would absolutely love to hear them!

I love powerful lyrics, but I also love Joe's soulful depths that he travels to. If the lyrics you write enhance the songs, then I'm all for it!

Keep us updated!

I've decided to work on my long standing Egyptian project, I have some cool chords in mind. Using a Hungarian Minor Scale, which is also a Byzantine Scale, which happens to also be a gypsy scale, which also is an Egyptian scale, which by coincidence is under the Diatonic form of scales.

Damn, music is such twisted wonderful world of confusion eh?

I'll let you all know what happens, and thanks everyone again for your good reviews, I keep me going and inspired.

Do The Stu: The lack of feelin I refer to is on the rythm section. That's probably why I like the DVD versions. But Joe's playing is there and I could tell this was Joe even if it was the first time I heard it :)

JS95 is my second least favourite album of him, I just didn't want to emphasize my dislikes about JS' albuns that much... I felt I was getting enough wood to burn talking about EoC :p

Oddly, it starts with one of my favs tunes (Cool #9). One of the few songs that I prefer the studio version to the album's.

Vasco P - In and of itself I like EOC, Borg Sex is one of my favourite tracks (the concept is fantastic). Having said that, I don't normally reckon much to techno rock/pop. A couple of years ago I had a bit of a disagreement with some 'experts' on here when I said I preferred real instruments to programmed crap. I ended up being told how stupid I was and if it is good enough for Joe then it is good enough for anybody. The bottom line for me though, is that if you don't dig it then you don't dig it, you like what you like and bollox to anyone who tries to tell you different.

Dear Citizens,

Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown in the economy, I, President Obama have decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early retirement.

This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).

Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to Congress to be considered for the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced Termination) .

Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (Scheme Covering Retired-Early Workers).

A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as I, President Obama deem appropriate.

Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependants & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).

Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by me, President Obama.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. I, President Obama have always prided myself on the amount of SHIT I give our citizens.

Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your Congressman, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.

Sincerely,

President Obama

P.S. Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

600 litres of wine - shit man yeah! Maybe we should all keep track of the amount of booze we drink in one year starting Jan 1? Of course it would be an approximate count beings that once you get yer buzz on, you might need an abacus to keep track. lol! Jayzus! Imagine trying to keep track of that! lmao! Do we count by the can, bottle, glass, cup, flask, shot glass, and boot? Austin would have to make some sort of chart to make it the same across the board.

Keniko, Cappy's talkin' out his ass again. lol! I keep my sharp sticks in the closet for the most part, but if ya want me to I could poke ya with it just for shits and giggles :-)

Jesus and the Burglar

A burglar broke into a house and shined his flashlight around looking for valuables.

He picked up a CD player when a strange, disembodied voice echoed from the dark saying: 'Jesus is watching you.' He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked off his flashlight and froze.

When he heard nothing more he continued. Just as he pulled the stereo out he heard: 'Jesus is watching you.'

Freaked out, he shined his light around frantically. Finally, in the corner of the room his light beam came to rest on a parrot.

Did you say that?' he hissed at the parrot. 'Yep,' the parrot confessed, then squawked, 'I'm just trying to warn you that he's watching you.'

The burglar relaxed. 'Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?'

Moses,' replied the bird.

Moses?' the burglar laughed. 'What kind of people would name a bird Moses?'

"The kind that would name a Rottweiler Jesus."

Cappy..... Thanks for the hint. My shelly would not castrate me...lol....

Would You ?

michelle.... Yes, I figured it out and .... There you are in all of your splendor.... Thanks for not taking my post seriously as it was not ment to cause you any pain...lol... How you be? First off Happy Belated Birdie. Second. I read about your trip with hubby to see Joe and Chickenfoot. This was your first time meeting Cheeze.... Jayzus did I miss a party or what? I'm glad you two got to meet and hang out plus backstage passes. Jayzus Girl.... How do you do that? Well as you know Chickenfoot is GREAT !!!, Joe said it best. The Show in Chi-Town was awesome. Did you see the you tube vids with Joe playing drums and Chad on Joe's guitar before Bad Motor Scooter? That was priceless. Sammy and Michael were drinking Beer and Jack and handing it to the fans and Joe was flossing his teeth on the Chickenfoot guitar and Chad and Sammy.... What can you say? Another you tube vid in Chicago had Sammy on the drum riser stating he was always the crazy one in the band untill Chickenfoot as Chad has him beat...Priceless. I think, know and feel we have a lot of great music and more great shows comin' our way from Chickenfoot. They're having way, way, way to much fun for this to end soon. Hugs to you. Glad you're home safe and sound....

Have A Great Evening Everyone......

ptrocker - OK, I can see where you're coming from about the rhythm section. I guess I've never really thought about it like a "band" record, the way it seems like you are. To me it's always been just two things on that album ("Joe" and "everything else").

Onto the JS95 album, I love most of it but don't really care for Cool #9 (studio or live). I know I'm in the minority with that song. I do love If and Luminous Flesh Giants, though.

What are your thoughts on Not Of This Earth? I guess that'd be the third least-liked album for most people? The production sounds VERY dated to me, but I still love listening to it. It's a great album to drive to...

Peace Lily - "I want to celebrate the differences that make us individuals"

That's the best way to look at it... So, what's some of the other music you're into? We all talk about guitar more than anything else here, but our other tastes are pretty varied from person to person.

I like a lot of older classic rock (Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen), and prog both old (Yes, Rush) and new (Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree). But then I also like a lot of 90s rock, and there are a few newer bands that are fun to follow.

Slyro - Sleep Walk is an old song originally done by Santo & Johnny. It's probably one of the most-covered songs out there...you can find more info on Wikipedia.
michelle - Hahaha...you can't ask for my help with that! I know I drink less than most people around here, but that might be changing. This past Friday night / Saturday morning I had several margaritas and split a bottle of whiskey with someone.

If we're counting on me to keep track, we're all screwed!

Listening to: Collective Soul - (Rabbit) (current song: Staring Down)

This is their new album, which came out yesterday. I like it so far (it's always great to hear new music from these guys), but I still need to give it a few more listens to know for sure.

It's a bit closer to their 90s sound than their last two albums have been, but isn't at the level of what I love most about the band...I might call this a mix between Disciplined Breakdown and Blender.

...Austin...
