Well I got my new guitar, an Ibanez RG in like a matte silver color (I have to look at the model) It sounds really nice and I can play whammy dives all night long and not untune it. I love this new guitar! Now I am off to go play some halo 3 levels on legendary with my dad (yes my dad can play legendary!) Then an all night long jam with my new Ibanez! >.<

Hey Cheese, as far as the chat goes, it no longer works for me if I use my Mozilla Firefox browser like I normally use. If I use Internet Explorer it will work again. Could this solve your problem?

See what happens - I leave for a few weeks and everything breaks around here. No more time off for me. LOL

T-Bones, maybe if I sent a doctor's note or a note from my mum telling youtube they shouldn't allow me to watch this stuff before bed, I might get some sleep. After 4 Godspank vids, I'm ready to rock out with my co... oh...I hate that I can never use that one either, dammit!

*sigh*

Hi, Im an aspiring musician who, loves your music and knowledge as a musician, and wants to know what you think I should be learning as far as theory and technique goes. I'm sixteen and I am very hungry for music theory so anything that you could tell me to learn would be greatly appreciated and taken seriously. Thank you.

Hey Joe! Can't wait to see you in minneapolis mn this october. Last time you were here was about 5 years ago and you signed my js100 and several autographs even though it was really cold outside. I will be with my 14 year old son and this will be my 9th or10th time seeing you guys. I wanted to do the premiums but am a single parent and am on a budget so i had to settle for row 7 in front instead! Gonna be really fun!

Take care! Lou

You usually get 2 or 3 things signed at the meet&greet, but some people go up with every single album cover he has, feel kinda bad if i done that, but the more stuff u get signed the more time u get to spend there, ha

Stu has the new Aussie clinic vid up

and M im up at 8am on a Saturday morning, i havnt done this since i was 7!

football at 4 though, gonna get some music in before hand... then a bday at 10

+ yeah try the Elixers, there a little more expensive than a usual set but can last up to 4-5 times longer and dont rust, d'addarios sound bettr fresh but after a few days they're just not nice, then a week u can feeel the grit n stuff, so i made the switch, much better so far

here's You're My World ...again :)

oh and the chat doesnt work on IE or Firefox for me

aww look at the birdies ...they're always outside!

Oh, forgot to mention something from the meet n greet.

Someone asked joe what he likes to listen to on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings, yknow, like mellow out or party stuff.

He replied he has tunes always racing around in his head so he doesn't tend to listen to other stuff much, it would get too busy and confusing in there.

To which I said "Hey, you listen to Joe too!"

So everyone, Joe is a Satch Fan!

He actually replied he can't get the little dude to shut up.

LOL!

Matt: If I was you I would get the blue finish, but then I haven't seen it in the flesh which would probably decide it for you anyway. I use Ernie Ball's, but then string choice is down to personal preference. Joe uses D'Addario ones, stick with 9's as most guitars are shipped and set up with them from the factory. Speaking of which, you are going to have one hell of a time replacing the strings on that thing...this should help.

I just bought a 20ft Planet Waves cable with gold jack plugs, it was expensive but it comes with a lifetime warranty--and Joe uses them so they must be good! Maybe think about strap locks, but only if you would be taking the strap off frequently. I would suggest getting a slide, but I got one and have hardly used it; plus you sort of need to set the guitar up for slide.

One final thing, enjoy the guitar!! =D Edit: my bad, I should have read the post saying you had bought it first!

Great to see Sinatra mentioned, boy did that guy have a sense of timing. Great to listen to his stuff just to get the ol' foot swinging. Also good to see the Eagles mentioned, anyone else think the latest album is rather good?

like the cat video, my kitten keeps bting me but not the fiance, whats that about?

anyway 6am, everyday-shes up for her ninja training on the duvet, it seems she willl be an excellent stalker and hunter of human feet.

she also plagues the rabbit by patting him on the head continuosly, and you can so tell shes winding the poor old fella up.

i thought i was getting somewhere with the head pat game.

id tap her SOFTLY on the head and for a while she'd return with a gentle tap.

Then she Boxed my ears with both paws, bloody hurt!-lol

wont try that again.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUmJ2Wg_hR4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_tk-XrXFHo

You're welcome.

anibur - Thanks for those videos...Joe looked confused early on but then he came around. Pretty cool...
REVAN 2008 - You got a reply from Paul Gilbert? Awesome. I sent him an email a few months ago with additions to his Musicians Whose Names Are Also Sentences page, but I never heard back. He didn't add them to the list, either, so maybe my email got caught in a spam filter. Anyway, one of my musicians was Stu Hamm.
Tuesdayschild - Yeah...Steven Wilson has done a million things. Go to his website and look at his complete discography...it's insane. I thought Tony Levin had done everything, but Steven Wilson has him beat by far.

I'm not really an Opeth fan. They were one of the three bands to open for Dream Theater on their Progressive Nation tour. I enjoyed their set, but I find it hard to get into the vocals. I'd go see them in concert again, but I don't think I'd ever buy an album...

hybes - Thanks for the long post...it's nice to see someone other than me come up with one of those every now and then. ;-)

I'm not sure if you know, but Collective Soul is still around. They broke up for a few years because the band went through some personal stuff, but they've released two albums since then. I'm actually seeing them in concert Sunday with Live and Blues Traveler (don't know if I've mentioned that here).

I'm a big Velvet Revolver fan...you can dig through the archives here and see I raved about them quite a bit when their first album came out. I finally saw them live back in February, at the Wiltern. That ended up being the final show they played before Scott checked himself into rehab and the band started to fall apart. I got lucky there...it was one of the best concerts I've been to.

You told me to go buy a Candlebox album a few weeks ago, right? Their first one? I still need to do that...

And you've said a few times that PSATMOR is your favorite "non-live" Satch album. So which of his live albums holds the top spot for you?

Guitarman77897 - Congrats...if you can pull yourself away from the guitar for a few minutes, I'd love to see a picture of it.
roo - "Hey, you listen to Joe too!"

Awesome! Haha...that's great.

...Austin...

Hey, I just discovered an older interview in 1999 on this site: http://www.guitar9.com/interview38.html Joe mentioned feeding my Collection!

In case anyone is interested, my collection site has been neglected for a while now, I have still been getting items here and there. I am looking for a good piece of software to re-vamp the site. I'd like to properly catalogue all items and tracks with mp3 extracts, etc. Just having trouble finding the right software, anyone got any suggestions? Something perhaps PHP and MySql based, with a web management fornt end, allows me to upload track list/artwork/etc and mp3 snips. Maybe a good music shopping cart software? The Amazon type site would be good. But so you can search on tracks "Surfing" and get back all albums with the MP3 snips so you can listen to all the snips one after the other to compare, sort by date, etc...

Still working gradually on getting everything signed. It's a long process.. Probably got through 1/2 the collection now. I can't have Joe's poor hand fall off can I ?? :)

Will give Lucas the CD tomorrow. He'll go ballistic! Apparently he was asking my daughter every day at school if I'd got it signed yet.

Thanks again Joe, and can't wait to rock agin at enmore on Monday.

Roo

John-yea I liked the blue finish but the guy there said thats what made the guitar so expensive, I got the same-ifnot better- guitar for less, It has five sets of humbucker pickups two up front near the neck two by the bridge and one in the middle like this:

(o)(o) (o) (o)(o)

It has a floating bridge and I love it, it is soo much easier to make and manipulate harmonics.

DotheStu-sure I will send a pic, tell me how tho, I don't kno how to get it on a computer.

I am gonna go play it now! >.<

Revan, you saw Robert Plant on the High Street, now there's a combination of words I don't see every day. It's cool to be star struck I've been getting a couple of emails from Stu Hamm, the correspondence went on over about 6 emails (3 from each side) and I was over the moon. So I know how you feel about hearing from Paul Gilbert, who incidentally I've already bought my tickets for in November and the show nearly co-incides with my Birthday.

Do the Stu, I'm not an Opeth fan at all, all that growling puts me off, reminds me of an ex bf who was a slipnot/fintrel/anything else death or industrial or whatever metal.

But I was interested in the concept Opeth had of making two CD's, one heavy, one melodic. Apparently they had alot of melodic stuff, and clean vocals buzzing around their heads, but they also wanted to make a heavier album (and more growling) than ever before....so they did two. Steven Wilson was only involved with the melodic one. I think they're sort of meant to compliment each other, but since I only bought the lighter one I wouldn't know.

I like a bit of metal but have a limited tolerance. Like when I saw on DVD, Trivium, I went, Oh that's good.....then the frontman opened his mouth.

Tuesdays Child - Ya, can you imagane what Slash and Bach together could do? I don't know if your a Velvet Revolver fan, but I think personally this has been some of Slash's finest work ever. It's a shame he and Axle don't get along because that's the big hangup with Sebastian. Bach tends to be a drunken idiot, but there's no denying he's one of the biggest voices in rock. Enjoy it while it lasts. My gut feeling is the reason Robert Plant refuses to go tour with Zeppelin is becuase I don't think his voice can hit the notes every night anymore. His stuff with Allison Krauss is so much lower and laid back. Anyway, getting off on a tangent. I'm just gonna keep imagining Bach singing for Velvet Revolver, maybe it'll happen some day.

Guitarman - Congrats on your new Axe my friend. How's the playability? Are you now saving up for the Satchurator? Does anyone on the site have it yet? I would love to see someones demo other than the one Joe did on Youtube.

Do the Stu - LOL. Glad you liked my rant. Funny how sometimes you can just take a thought and run forever (or atleast until you're almost out of characters left to type on one post) :) I actully did not know Collective Soul was together. I really like their sound Very clean and tight and I think they did some good stuff outside of just the guitar bass and drums. I really enjoy a band that will put other string instruments in their music. When I saw Plant and Page in '95 that was the one thing that completely blew me away. Their ability to put horns and violens and violas (along with some other insturments I don't know the names of) and blend it with their music. Very powerful.

I'm envious you got to see Velvet Revolver. I can't remember if they ever made it to OKC. that's one of the drawbacks about living here, sometimes you miss some good concerts. You were lucky to see them right before they broke up. Who would you say will be a good replacement at lead singer?

I do think you would get into Candlebox. their self titled is just my personal favorite. Like I said in my earlier post, I am really impressed with the singles that I have heard from their upcoming cd. I was disappointed to see them go off the scene so fast. Give them a try when you get a chance. Maybe drop 5 or 7 dollars for a used cd just in case you're not that impressed, you will not have overspent.
