Joe,
I just discovered your music less than 2 years ago. I started playing guitar at age 35 (better late than never?) and have been playing for less than 4 years. A friend loaned me "The Satch Tapes" and I was inspired to buy all the Satriani CD's, DVD's, and books I could find. I think what got me most was the idea that there was a time when neither you, nor Steve Vai could play guitar. That motivated me, but I still have a long way to go. I also got the impression that you were a regular, down-to-earth guy who loved music (as opposed to an arrogant rock star type.)
I finally got to see you live at The Ryman in Nashville on the 27th of March. I bought the "Club Joe" package for myself and my guitar teacher. Sadly, during the Q&A session, I didn't feel worthy of asking questions, but I was still further inspired and enjoyed the show. I just wish I'd asked something... or brought my JS1000 for you to sign. I was also thrilled to see the Les Paul you bought was very much like mine. (I have 10 guitars... more guitars than talent at this point.)
I am making a list, so that next year if you come anywhere near Nashville, I'll come again and hopefully have some interesting questions.

johnnyiv...our Joe is indeed a very humble and down-to-earth guy....he says he's just a guy who happens to play guitar well enough that people want to listen to him and buy his music, LOL!!! Well, he's all that and THEN SOME :)
Great that you got a chance to meet him, and I know you'll be ready the next time...Joe's a great guy who loves his fans and would be happy to answer your questions :)
Love ya Joe! Looks like your summer schedule is starting to heat up.....it would be great to go overseas to see you, but then you'd know for sure (if you don't already, lol) that we're insane :)

Is it me, or are ther more amateur radio callsigns in the list of user nicknames now?
I've been gone for a while. How is Steven Wilde doing?

all T2Jers i went on amazon.com to order some cds that i can't get here in Oz....when i went to order John Petrucci's album at first it wasn't there, then it said they had only 4 copies? the cheapest being US$28 & it's 2nd hand!?
what's going on there? i was going to get his album - Paul Gilberts new one & some Ennio Morricone but since Petrucci's album isn't available i just scrapped the idea :/

BigBunny....... John Petrucci's Suspended Animation is sold out on his site . It will be available for 14.98 USD on May the 8th according to the web site. I would assume there would be some freight. Sounds like there may be some profit takers on Amazon. Hope that helps!

Hey Joe!!!
Are you able to participate in the benefit concert May 17th at the HOB in Hollywood to pay tribute to Dimebag Darrell? Proceeds are going to Little Kids Rock....they don't exactly have you listed as an actual player that night...but they include you in their list of participating artists...I know you did a tribute guitar for Dimebag.... Joe's guitar for Dime. I wanna bid!!
website for the concert here
That should be a good show for anyone who can attend...
And on another note, I pre-ordered my DT Systematic Chaos cd/dvd combo today, and should get an autographed lithograph with it :))) Lurvely!
