Luke the Duke: I know this is OLD now but just coz Joe seriously is one of the best guitarists around, doesn't mean he can never slip up. An d I love Love Thing and Rubina, etc. seriously i think the only songs I don't like of his are Cryin' and New Blues. And the fact that I'm here shows that I love his music neway. Like 2 'bad' songs (IN MY OPINION) out of like 200+ isn't bad now is it?

Do the Stu: I don't care how hard it is the play. As if I dun know about how being articulate isn't made explicit in the notes. Like something like Always with Me...the hardest thing is getting those emotive sounds. Once again I dun care if its hard to play in any sense, like Michael Angelo is a kick ass shredder (and waht he plays is technically much harder) but his music is NOTHING compared to Joe. I dun like the song coz I dun like the song, not coz it 'sounds easy' it 'sounds boring'. In Malmsteen's Gates of Babylon ur hit wiht all this tapping and sweeping in a roaring solo WHICH GOES FOR LIKE 10 MINUTES and then u just get sick of it coz it 'sounds boring'.

Anyway. The whole idea for this string was that I START A STRING (WHICH I HAVE YEA!!!!) Not to get things like:
"Have you HEARD Cryin'!? Have you HEARD the emotion!"
coz quite obviously I haven't if I said I think its not a good song
I was TRYING to get answers like this:
"I think 'x song' isn't that great. Because the articulation isn't good, its goes on for a bit too long..etc etc."
Attacking my sense and taste in music is illogical and irrelevant to the subject of the conversation.
THE STRING HAS ENDED
LETS START A NEW STRING

Clarky: When you get the VAI dvd, you will freak out, lol!! It's really a piece of magic, and makes you feel like your in the front row!!.... There's also a "Commentary" section in the disc that plays the whole show again while Steve, Tony, Billy and Dave (Virgil could'nt make it) talk about their playing and stories of the songs.... Great jokes in there too, especially when (Warning: LIA dvd story coming.... Close your eyes if you dont want to see this for the folks that dont have the dvd yet) Dr. VAI ask's Tony about having problems stepping on pedals at the same time when playing and he says: Do you ever have that happen, and Tony goes No!!.... HAHA, and Steve says Kiss My Ass MacAlpine, just shut up and agree with me!!!! LMAO, and one more about Billy.... Well, I wont say anything, cause it is hilarious, and I dont want to kill the story, lol....
btw, I'm glad you got Sloth in there bro, and I went back and listened to it, and I can only imagine how much better it sounds!!.... Have fun with the loud stuff!!....
Do The Stu: Literally, "It is Stu, not boo" is Itto izu Suchu, notto boo direct in English for their pronunciation.... In Japanese, it would be Suchu desu.... Boo janai (pron. Suchew des.... Boo janeye), and literally means: Stu to be.... Boo not.... lol, the wonders of literal translation!! ;-)
mick87: We had a great Xmas man, thank's.... Sounds like yours was great also!! Awesome AXE bro!! 23 Fret Ovation!!
I havent seen that one yet, and I love the bridge design and great color!!.... Congrats man, and how does it sound!!!!
death cube K: Way to go /\/\/\R|<!!.... Tweak it man!!
....I see Jeremy Colson will be in Stu's new band.... Does Dr. VAI got Mangini back??....

Madeh- In responce to all the talk about Stu Hamm. I don't know if Stu has plans to jam with Joe again or not but, Stu said in a recent interveiw "Playing music with Joe is like going to bed with somebody and not having sex". Sex or no sex I hope they plan on jamming again someday 'cause the two of them got something special together.

ALRIGHT!! this has got to be some kind of sick ass joke by now! Anyone that sees Stu play like a badass and thinks that people must be saying "BOOOOO" instead of the painfully obvious "STUUUUUU" has to have a major amount of cranial matter leaking from their head! Lets make a collective new year's resolution to never post a "why are they booing stu question?" on this site.

Strange, I love New blues and Cryin'. There really is a song that I don't like: The Phone Call.

Happy New Year, everyone!
death cube K - I have Bil's phone number. I can't remember your email address for the life of me, so drop me a line and I'll send his number to you.
JS JS - I don't remember who did the music for Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (the first movie). I don't remember that movie having as many guitar fills as the second movie. I just remember the one or two fairly generic riffs that played during the "EXCELLENT!!!" dialogue throughout the movie. Those bits were probably played by a no-name session guitarist.
Both B&T movies have soundtracks featuring songs from a wide variety of rock bands.
mick87 - I don't have the album you mentioned, but Gov't Mule are a GREAT band.
Golfrocker - Welcome to the site! The "E M" guitarist that you mentioned is actually Yngwie Malmsteen.
If I had to guess, I'd say we'll see Joe on the road again in around 4-6 months from now.
Luke the Duke - You make a great point as well. The "why" is more important than the "Hey, this music sucks!". I've always felt that way, even though I didn't mention it in my previous post...
At the same time, we have to remember that Joe is probably making music for himself just as much as (if not more than) he is making it for his fans. If he would have asked me what I thought about a Satch techno album back in 1999, I would have said "No way!". He stuck to his own musical idea, though, and I'm glad he did because I love what he came up with (EOC).
Madeh - Clarky (not me) commented on how hard it is to play Cryin' on guitar. I just thought I'd clear that up.
I'm sorry if it seems like we're attacking you. I've been here long enough to know that isn't our intention. I hope you didn't take my "How long have you been a Satch fan?" as a negative comment, either...I didn't mean it that way. I guess I could have worded it better. ;-)
ovation1 - Have you watched (listened to) the entire Vai commentary? I mentioned this before, but I just love when he's talking about his former bassist during For The Love Of God. Steve said something along the lines of "not only did he play the wrong note, but he played the WRONGEST note possible". It's great. To follow it up, he said the bassist said "What are you gonna do, fire me?" LOL! Of course Steve did just that.
Tha'ts my favorite part of the commentary by far. The second favorite bit is him mentioning Frank Zappa's thoughts on being on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
Stu to be, boo not... I like it! ;-)
Jeremy Colson willl still be Steve's drummer. Stu Hamm won't be doing a huge tour, so I'm sure Jeremy can be in two bands at once...hehe.
lastsamurai - The people in the crowd are saying "Stu", not "boo".
stringG - I love The Phone Call. =) It's fun.
...Austin...

death cube K: HAHA on Malmsteen being a 7 course meal, lol, and that's before desert right!!.... hehe.... ;-)
Do The Stu: Yeah, I remember that part where he said that about the bass player, and he did'nt mention his name, lol, but he did say that was not the only reason he fired him, which is a good thing.... I have a feeling that you must be of good character (not only player) to be in the Steve Vai Band, lol.... He is very demanding, and that explains why he has the top players in their respective musical fields....
I like that part too about Zappa on the RS cover!!.... Why the F!!.... I wont go any further, lol ;-)
Thank's for the info on Jeremy.... I still havent heard this guy cept' for reviews from G3.... I'm sure he's no Donati, but he must be good to play in the band....
Stu to be.... boo not for G3!! ;-)

PLUM LOCO - Hello dear friend!! As you know, last year was a bad year for the Portuguese People as well. Good Luck to all Canadian friends and keep in touch ;-) !!

Clarky, I live miles away from it too now, but they're creepin' and seepin' like the ebola virus. People really need to teach their kids right from wrong instead of just letting them get totally out of control. The parents don't know any better, so they don't teach their kids anything. It'a a shame. A lot of kids are having kids too. You know that when your 18 and already have three kids and none of them have the same daddy, something ain't right. lol!
Mick87, bro, I think somebody spiked your Twizzlers! lol! Maybe I'd have to change my name to Martha May or Francis? My Christmas and New Years was good. How was yours? Great I hope :)
anibur, thanks for the link! I'm glad to see he's progressing and slowly getting better. Happy New Year girl!
GUTTERbOY, mission accomplished. I had my bar bitch (my husband- lmao! ) working hard last night. We had a nice little party here. Hope you have a great 2004 bud :)
I'd like to wish everyone here a happy and HEALTHY 2004!
HAPPY NEW YEAR JOE!!
