DCK: Thanks man, I'd hate to buy this nice modular pedal board that hides all of the adapters and cables underneath, only to have to run an external power strip with cables all over the place just to get them away from the Morley haah!

MichaelStevensG - I a feeling that link would lose some people. However, get what you can out of it and don't limit your learning by narrowing it down to just guitar. Alll musical instuments have to abide by these rules. Your at a good age to start aquiring this stuff. Ok, enough parenting. On to gear!! I have a S470DXQM. While I like the feel it is a bit thin sounding compared to my old RG 560. I put a Tone Zone inthe bridge and an Air Norton in the neck. I like the Norton but need more mids and bass fron the bridge. I nornally roll the highs off in the bridge position by about a 1/3 of a turn on the tone knob. I don't know much about the other stuff on the list but then I have some older gear. There are others with more knowkedge of the newer stuff. Good Luck.

Band update - I believe we are now just a bass p[layer short of moving forward. We have found a gtr and vox. C'mon bass player. One more comin in next week. Hope for the best.

Dear Joe and guys. Can i just take a moment of your time to say that listening and following your music for a number of years has inspired me in more ways that no one will ever know.It only dawned on myself a few months ago that how big a part of my life your music has been. Not only from the time i first heard the Summer song it inspired me to pick up a guitar, but the first time i heard I Believe it made me feel like i needed to help do something about the mess this planet is in.I know that seems strange but its how your music effects me.Thank you for the passion, the music lessons and the kick ass guitar riffs.Satch your a legend and will be for many many years to come.Mark.

When did Tasty become a guy?!!! LOL

Tastey an Tasty are goona get confusin'!!!

joe wentz Do a search on Chris Peters. He has done a lot w/ the JSX. Here is the email he had sent me.

If you put the exact same EL34's (the stock Electro Harmonix tubes) in the amp, then the amp doesn't necessaly need biasing. However, I replaced the EH tubes with JJ EL34 tubes, and even though they are technically the same tube, different manufacturer's tubes have slightly different voltages. The JJ's actually add 5 to 10 watts to the amp's output because of their better quality. It's nothing that would change too dramatically, but it's a good idea to bias to make sure nothing shifts. Even the exact same tubes can shift the idling voltage of the amp, because of fluctuations in the manufacturing process. So, it's a good idea to bias everytime you retube the power tubes. Basically Peavey says to bias the amp at 42.5volts DC current, so I biased it at 43 volts DC to warm it up just a little. Peavey emailed me saying you can go a few volts higher than 42.5 with no problems with tube life, so I'm ok. Basically when manufacturers say an amp is self biasing, that just means that if you put in roughly the same tube (EL34 for EL34) the amp won't go all out of wack, but as a rule of thumb bias bias bias haah! BTW, there have been some folks putting E34L's (a EL34 variant that is somewhere between EL34 and 6L6GC tonally) into the JSX and blowing screen resistors in the amps, so I would stick to either 6L6GC's or EL34's the JJ tubes are killer!! www.eurotubes.com is a source for JJ tubes.
