Out of all the new songs....Premonition had the most emotional response from me. Like Axeshreddder said...it gave me chills or goosebumps ..... you know? I am looking forward to hearing the rest of it also.

I am off to watch my son play football.......nice evening for it.....

Peace - interesting, as it's definitely Dream Song that gets the emotional response from me but I guess that was due to timing. Im expecting a certain response if it's played live

Cheese - funny you should say that. Joe takes the guitar off me at the end, checks the set up, and then passes it back... and THEN remembers he needs to keep it. Darn!

Joe - how many times have you called yourself the Masterful Arpeggiator ? lol... theres a basis for a song

Hi Joe & Everyone!

Hope everyone is well. Looks like everyone is checking out the podcasts. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see them. Hopefully soon though.

A buddy of mine, and I went out to Sweetwater tonight for the Bob Taylor Showcase. I was impressed in seeing so many Taylor guitars, one of them was made from a Brazil nut/walnut. Speaking of Sweetwater, they received my application and will hold on to it for six months, unless there is an opening. I also have a phone interview this upcoming Wednesday with another business.

I'l be running in the Fort-4-Fitness (Half-Marathon) Saturday morning. 7,500 participants are participating. Wish me luck everyone.

Grant

Pip55 / cheese101 / other setlist speculators - I'd love to be proven wrong, but I bet the Napa gig will have the same setlist as the rest of the tour. If past tours offer any hints, that means we'll get 6-8 songs from BSAWW. Then again, half the band is new this time around...so maybe that means they'll play more new music? I figure newly recorded songs would take less time to rehearse.

If we do get the whole album (as many as 13 songs), once you add in the five or so standards (SWTA, AWMAWY, Satch Boogie, FIABD, Summer Song, Cool #9) there won't be much room for anything else. A setlist like that ignores everything from 1996-2009, too, which would be a bit weird.

And Tracie, there are eight (!) Best Buy locations within a 20-mile radius of where I live. :-) So I shouldn't have any trouble finding a copy of BSAWW on release day. I don't think you'll have any trouble either...because of the Best Buy exclusive, I bet all locations nationwide will have plenty of copies in stock.

Blue Moon - how are you going to hear the set list first if everyone else here's it 2 weeks before you? lol

Do The Stu - I was hoping it might be a little different this time around based on calling it a fan appreciation gig, and the specific interest in us all updating our setlists (I know that's for the main tour but figured it starts at Napa). Fingers crossed

So, here's a lil Joe snippet....

Black Swans week

.... and a shortcut link to the mention of how one of the songs progressed

when Joe first mentioned the name of the new CD, I looked up the term "Black Swans" and actually checked out a book from the library on it. I started to read it but that was right after I hurt my knee and the doc had just put me on some med's. It made itori hard to read. I know the rest of the day I went around categorizng Black Swans all day.

Pip55 - Yeah, the "fan appreciation" thing made me think it'd be a bit different, too...but it's been a while since it was announced and there haven't been any other details (autograph signing, webcast, contest, etc.) made public so it may just be a "normal" post-rehearsal pre-tour gig. Something extra setlist-wise would be nice, but I don't want to go in expecting too much just in case. We do get a free copy of the album though.

Blue_Moon - Welcome to a few weeks ago! ;-) He's playing one gig in Napa on October 6 before flying over to Europe.

Howdy fellow Joe,

Just a little drunk tonight, (celebrating 1st week at new job) Thought I'd float to your website to see what you been up to as of late. Hoping you were touring near by, so I could splurge and come see ya once again!

I was absolutely blow away by your new single "Light Years Away" It's got everything that's you! Killer crunch, soaring mellow and a little blues funk hidden in. You piss me off on how you can do what U do and make it look simple. Keep up the good work!

I caught your show in my home town Des Moines, Iowa a few years back and was blow away by how you sing with your strings. Of course I couldn't miss the hunger of a little Chickenfoot, saw your 1st show in KC. at the Uptown.

I woke my brother up (1:00am) to tell him I'm buying to your next show at the Uptown in KC. I've been anxious to take my boys to one of your shows, my youngest just move back with me so the 3 of us will be in the crowd somewhere!

Love what you do (No homo, lmao) and can't wait for the new show! See ya there and keep up the great work,

Joe

Pip- Interesting info on Joe's current setup. I noticed in the GP vid he was using the sustainiac guitar and mentioned using a Proctavia for the solo. It sure would be expensive to keep your rig modeled after Joe, and keep it up to date, of course.

I'm kind of stuck between Premonition and Golden Room right now for favorite clip so far. The little bit of the solo that Joe played from Golden Room immediately made me think of It's So Good, and I really love that song.

I think Joe definitely picked an appropriate title for this album....

Tracie- If Best Buy doesn't offer a pre-order for the album, you may consider calling the store you plan on purchasing it from on your way to Napa and asking them to hold a copy for you until you get there, just to be safe! I wouldn't be surprised if many of them don't stock it at first, either, so that may be another reason to call ahead.
Sorry to hear you're sick. You've got a little over a week to get rid of what ever it is!

Any ticket holders not gonna be able to make it to Napa? Haha!

Ian

Dream Song podcast = red JS2400 @ 1:33 & 1:53 mark

This song comes across to me as having a similar feel to Flying in a Blue Dream... funny I hadn't even paid attention to the similarities in the two song's titles until I was typing it out! hehe -just gives me that same kinda feeling.

Grant, good luck on the run!! I wanted to get to Sweetwater for the Taylor event, and to maybe have Bob Taylor sign my 214CE but it was just too much of a drive and not enough hours in the day. Of course if Joe is there again, then well, ya know....
