Clarky,

Like yourself, I write, play & record everything myself which is a great strength when considering the creative process.

It allows you complete control over every aspect & complete responsibilty for the end result.

That being said, when I practice I always....always have the recorder in ready mode just in case I run across something worthy of capturing.

I also make sure my settings are clean & in studio quality readiness so I have no regrets for letting that Big Fish getting away.

I've been very happy with the results of going through these procedures everytime I pick up my guitar, or any other instrument.

I'm looking forward to hearing the feedback from yourself & the rest of the Satriani crew.....once I launch my site...early next week!

Take Care....Love Peace & Happiness!

Optical Studio: Thanks so very much my friend!!! I am just feeling very down nowadays. I have lots on my mind and many things to accomplish and I all this wait is getting to me slowly. I just hope God has a plan for me, and the plan is for my best because at this moment I need some peace of mind. I just feel very frustrated and I so glad you believe I can make it somewhere. There are many people in my life who are expecting things and I feel like I havent done a good enough job. It really sucks but I hope everything works out fine. I am praying and trying and will see how things go man. You take care of yourself and it really means a lot to me to have friends like you. Cheers brother!

Alexandre: Dude, I havent forgotten and I will definitely send it to you!

JS_JS: If you havent figured it out, good for you. You should have paid closer attention to Achoo's post.

I know what you mean. but most of the new rappers, and a lot of the bad ones, are all gangster and ghetto and stuff. that is why my friends and my first guess was that a rapper shot dimebag. becasue they are alwasy involved in shootings, and it seems liek they would hate his kind of music. I won't deny that there is good rappers out there, I just dont like it at all. there was even this guy who sand and rapped and beat boxed at my school last year. and I will tell you, he blew me away. but I sitll dont like to listen to rap.

JS_JS: You wouldnt want to know what I assume about you. You really wouldnt want to know.

First of all as a new member I have to let you know that you are a great inspiration to me Joe, your music is in a class of it's own, the mood the techniques and the way you use them make's you, in my opinion, amongs the greatest. The main reason of my presence here (altough I am not sure it is appropriate) is the great loss the music community suffered recently, M. Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott. Such things should not be allowed to happen at all. It's not a first that a legend is killed and I want to do something to make ppl understand that musician are not that much different than other ppl, we are entertainers just like movie stars or stand up comics/humorist. I want to make a show in the memories of all those legend that were killed or died in accidents, all those who were dear to fans and artist. I know this project is huge and that I am not known in the artistic world (yet =op) but I think that if living legend have the right to get a tribute, legends like Dimebag Darrell, Randy Roads, Jimi Hendrix and such have earned the right to be remembered and have their own tribute. If any of you can help me with this project I would greatly appreciate, whoever you are, M. Satriani, a fan here, anyone.

VINNIE PAUL, DAMAGEPLAN issue statements about DIMEBAG tragedy

Two days after Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed onstage, his brother and bandmate Vinnie Paul has issued a statement to the press. Like many of Dime's friends, Paul said that the guitarist will be remembered for his playing, but missed most for his giving personality.

"With all his greatness and accomplishments on the guitar, DIME will be missed more for his giving personality, charisma, caring for others, love and most of all his HEART!! Twice as big as the state of TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!" the statement read. "DIME gave it all everyday to each and every one of us and our lives have forever been hollowed without him...

"Thanks to all of you for reaching out to us in this time of our immeasurable loss. REST IN PEACE BROTHER DIME!!!!!!"

The surviving members of Damageplan also issued a statement revealing that their former head of security, Jeffrey "Mayhem" Thompson, was also killed in the tragedy, and that Chris Paluska, who worked with Damageplan's management and was their acting tour manager, was also shot and is in critical, but stable condition. The band's drum tech, John "Kat" Brooks, was hit with a bullet but will be released from the hospital today.

"Jeffrey 'Mayhem' Thompson was not just a true part of the Damageplan family, but part of the whole Dallas music scene," the statement said. "He was friend to all, with a great personality. He bent over backward to help us all with his trademark phrases like 'What can I do for you sir?' and 'Coming up!'"

In the statement, the band thanks Thompson for his extreme loyalty and credits him for helping save the surviving members' lives. "He stated his willingness to protect us, saying 'I'd take a bullet for ya,' and unfortunately did in defense of our lives," they said. "He truly lived and died for his friends and made the ultimate sacrifice, giving his life to save ours. For this we will never forget. You will be missed, big man."

The band's label, Atlantic Records, issued a statement as well, which reads in part, "Dimebag Darrell was an exceptional musician and an extraordinary person. Along with his brother and bandmate, Vinnie Paul, he was a member of the Elektra/Atlantic family for the past 14 years, and he will be deeply missed. The bravery displayed by Damageplan, their crew, their fans, and the local police will never be forgotten."

For much more on Dimebag Darrell's life, music and influence, tune in to a special edition of "Headbangers Ball" premiering Saturday night at 10 p.m. ET on MTV2.

I just found out what happened to Dimebag. RIP! I am so sick about this tradegy......Any one of us could have been at that show and got shot! I CAN"T GET A FREAKIN CAMERA IN and this ASSHOLE gets in with a 9mm gun AND WALKS ONSTAGE WITHOUT BEING HARRASSED BY SECURITY (LIKE I GET) AND BLOWS AWAY THE LEAD GUITARIST??!!! Then wreaks havock till his insane ass is shot down!? This is really f**in F*d up! I am in such shock! I will chat will you all later.......

My deepest sympathy and condolences to his brother, band and family. I am truely sorry for their loss. We all are feeling the senselessness of this tradgic situation.

Mari~~~

Yah know....I don't get it.....I go to some shows and they take the top to my water bottle...I guess so I can't shoot it at somebody and kill them..... Does ths make sense to you? I just usually put the lid back on and keep it in my pocket for the entire show. Can't do that when they take my bottle lid.......I've never heard of any instance with a lid/top from a bottle of water! Anyone else have???!!............Bullets kill people not water bottle tops!!! So much for security!! I've even been "frisked" at one venue. Imagine that!!!!

Nuff Said.

Edit: Shel, I just saw your post! Thank you so very much for sharing that information with us. My heart goes out even more than before now that I know even more detail. What a crying shame. I am crying for them...... and also their families.....so much sorrow! I am so very sorry for what happend.

Mar~~

flashback to Wednesday where I left off -

VFR, I'm still playing a cameo part in The Burbs. lol!

Civgeek, today the family was walking from the garage to the house after a shopping trip, and I saw the umbrella I had left on the shelf earlier in the day. It's brown and it's supposed to be some sort of mini umbrella so it folds up small. Because it has so many folds to make it small, it looks wierd. I picked it up and walked out of the garage with it and went to shake the water off of it. I opened and closed it real fast a few times and said to my daughter "Look, a bat!!" She turned around quickly said "Not funny Mom!", which in fact, it was very funny. lol!

Yoda, so sorry to hear about your friend. My prayers go out to him. Sorry about your wrist.

Mick, glad to hear things are good with you. I got a lot of stuff going on. Trying to clean up some family bidness with my sister. She's powertrippin' and needs to bring her shit down a few notches. It's not easy being the youngest of 4 girls. lol! This bodybuilding/self centered bullshit with her is way over the top, and I put up with her bully/martyr attitude far to long. The holidays are always interesting. Bummed with the whole Damageplan thing, But besides that, everything else is right as rain :)

njbeast, " Can some one tell me why do the Jaoanese get extra bonus tracks?" I think it's because they pay way more, so they need extra incentive to buy the Japanese versions.

Nick, I copied the bat joke and sent it to my daughter. lol!

Benny, what the hell? Hope you're feeling better soon mate!

Bahduh, hello! Sorry for not posting. Got a lot on my mind these days. Hope all is well with your family :)

Mikey, I miss you up in herre!

Brother al, hey!

Slan, shitty job ya got there! *chuckle*guffaw*dry heave gag* Ugh, nasty, nasty, nasty. Hope you're feeling better now.

Alex, hiya honey! My sister in law also had a cat she called Mimi about 18 yrs. ago. Mimi was a big white Persian. Love the kitties! I'll give Scooter & Moe Phat a big hello for you. They have many names. lol! Hugs for Hadji too! Take care and relax when you can. Kisses back at ya my friend :)

Jazzy, chin up bro!

Steven, hello friend. Hope all is well with you.

Mari, that water bottle lid thing pissed me off too, but some people are just assholes and make it bad for everyone else. Take a look at all the shit that happened when that A-hole threw a cup of beer on whatshisface in the NBA. These things become projectiles. No lids are not good for us, but good for the performers. Hope things are well with you. I'm way behind in my email these days.

We went to Target tonight. When we got up to the register, there was a young guy behind the counter. Prolly a teenager? We get all our stuff up on the counter, and I moved down a bit. I took notice that the kid had written on a piece of receipt tape "R.I.P. DIMEBAG D.A." and had it laying on the counter. I told him it was cool of him to have it there, and he should tape it down so it don't fall off. We chatted for a few, and we both felt a little better that each of us acknowleged the loss.

Today my husband bought me The Best Of Pantera, which is a cd and DVD deal, and the Damageplan cd. In one of my posts I mentioned Dave Williams' death. I was very upset when he died. Drowning Pool rocked! Anyways, I open up the Damageplan cd booklet, and see that it is dedicated to Carolyn Abbott and none other then... Dave Williams. Wow! How strange is that. No one would have ever thought that Darrell will probably be the next dedication on future cd's. The loss of these guys is epic!

The only good thing I can see about Dimebags death is that it happend QUICK, and he was doing what he loved to do most in this world - holdin' on to that guitar and rockin' the fans with his bros.

LUCYSORETS - Thanks for the review from Argentina :-))

Btw -It happened something that i never saw, Joe broke a string :-))) !!! That`s not possible :-)

FROM VAI.COM:

Then on, Joe broke a string and screwd up a couple times during Cool n9 and we all clapped like crazy (the man is human after all ) and then put on a hell of a show, leaving seriousness aside for good this time... Too bad he didnt do a different setlist, but last night he made every song way longer, interacting with the audience a lot... The songs Fripp plays in had a weird vibe to them, and its a nice touch

And last but not least, the JAM!... awesome, awesome.... Joe was all pumped up with the audience, Steve came out with the same happy vibe and Robert seemed to be enjoying it a lot more this time (maybe cause it was the last night... ) and everything worked great

MARIANOZZ

Take care friends :-)) !!!
