Civgeek, I remember back to my eng school days.

First day, prof says look around, 2/3 of you will not graduate.

Second day, prof sez, "How many here cuz they think they will make a lot of money?" 90% of the hands go up. He sez " You have all chosen unwisely. If you want to make a lot of money, you should become accountants and bury your mistakes in a mountain of numbers. No one will be any the wiser, and you will make a lot of money. Better yet, you can become lawyers, get rich and bury your mistakes in a mountain of words. Or the best, become a surgeon, make a ton of money and just plain bury your mistakes!!! But no, you have all chosen to be engineers. You will not make a lot of money and you will have to live with your mistakes for the rest of your lives!!!" Also, if you think you will design the next great bridge, forget about it. They will come to see me not you!!"

Third day, thermodynamics prof sez, "In this course you will learn that when you pass wind, the universe is changed forever!!!"

I decided to stay on...

Good luck with your studies man!!!

Aloha Mr. Satriani,

Great to hear that you will be heading to Australia in 2005. Do you still keep in touch with D.P.? That's how I originally found out about you. After all I asked... who was this guy that was going to fill the void left behind by Ritchie Blackmore? You must have made a good impression on me since I now have most of your CD's and a few DVD's. I love it when I turn on friends to your music and they like it too.

Since it's such a long flight over to Australia, how about doing a layover here? Would a nice 3-island tour to beautiful Kona, Maui, and Honolulu sound enticing? We've been prettty lucky to have gotten some great artists play here. I was especially glad to have seen a fellow G3 member, Eric Johnson.

Anyway, I just found out about your 2005 planned tour at Melodicrock.com In hopes of getting you and our bandmates to visit Hawaii, I'm trying to get someone that knows a local promoter of blues acts to book you. Hopefully something strange and wonderful could happen here in paradise.

Thank you for putting this section up on your website. Wishing you and yours a warm and wonderful Holiday Season!

Glen T.

Hey Satriani

Thank you for being such a great guitarrist, you are certainly one of my inspirations when I started composing my new album. I would like to send a cd of it to you, Im sure you will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed your music

www.cd-oriented.com

This new production blends different styles of music, moving smoothly back and forth from Rock Fusion to World Music, blending accurate bits of Oriental instruments, powerful guitar leads, suggestive loops, exciting samplers, and an expert final mix.

Hi Joe, I'm from Argentina.

steeveT - the only guy I know from Favoured Nations is Rob Balducci because we played JemFest UK together... I thought that Rob was a very very nice player with some pretty interesting ideas... very nice guy too....

the guy at JemFest UK that really made my ears prick up was Ricky Garcia... a very soulful and clever player with a sense of note selection to die for.... a really great guy too.... we got on like a house on fire from the minute we met...

I've just completed the first mix-down of The Beheading of John the Baptist.... jeez what a track... how I'm going to play this live I'll never know.....
and it's scary too.... in terms of... I simply have no idea of how I'm going to top this track on the next album.... for me personally, I think it's the absolute peak of anything I've ever written and recorded......

I really hope that Vai will give my music a fair listen....
fingers and toes crossed...

wife's ok now... lmao.... took most of the day to recover though.... lmao..

Hello, As a new convert, i watched Joe's Live in San Francisco video. My question is Why does the crowd boo his bass player, every time Joe mentions his name the people boo him. Even after his excellent bass solo, they booed. Is this a inside joke or something?

Yo Joe, When I heard you were coming to Melbourne Australia in March I was ecstatic. The second I had a chance I rushed out to get my ticket, but was shocked to find that only people over 18 could enter due to the availability of alcohol at the bar (being 16 I’m really pissed off). I know the chances of you reading this message are slim so over next few weeks I will be posting it frequently (please do not consider me a pest). Maybe one of your assistants could answer this message for help. (Don’t try and contact me at 123 Fake Street- not real address :-P )

Cheers - Have a great Christmas, Rob

So im a big fan, and i was wondering why doesnt anyone ever come to utah to play a show? And I am not just talking about Joe, but others such as Steve Vai, or Dream Theater and similar artists. Just wondering. Also i think it would be awesome if Joe did a show with Trey Anastasio, and/or Buckethead. Both artists are amazing in there own little way, Trey is awesome when it comes to melody settings and jamming, and Buckethead, although a little encentric, is great in his own way. Anyway, just thought i would throw that out there.

Cube, all the Hellacaster albums are killer AND, Jerry Donahue's string bending video is terrifying.... I also love Will Ray's monthly column about bargain guitars he scoops up on ebay.

Steevee T, you will wait a long time for another Gatton or Buchanan so talents that come along like young Johnny Hiland turn my head!! Remember he is only a youngster!!

As to your Clapton/God reference. Clapton has done diddly in the last decade and a half to impress me and particularly nothing of any power or passion that convinces me that he can pull off a Cream reunion. BBM was probably better and closer to a Cream reunion than what we will see next year. The only thing more ridiculous is a tour under the name Queen without Freddie. May and company oughta seriously consider using another name, just like Sykes and Gorham touring as Thin Lizzy is absolutely ridiculous!!!

End of Rant!!!

This question is for Joe or any other members of the band - since I know they don't always have time to check the message boards, I'm obviously going to be patient and hope they see this eventually:

Does Joe (or his band) know anything about The West Memphis Three, and if so, does he/they have any interest in participating in a benefit concert to help raise legal defense funds?

I run the Phoenix, AZ West Memphis Three support group, where we routinely hold publicity awareness and fundraiser events simply to educate people about their legal injustice and invite them to investigate the situation themselves.

What you don't know about their case will shock you.

If you have the opportunity, please visit http://www.wm3.org for details as to who these three men are, how they landed in jail and what horrible things occured that put them there.

One of them is sitting on death row, his legal team fighting hard to free him, which is the only thing keeping him alive. You can help too, check out the site or contact me directly for the Phoenix area group: megashub@yahoo.com

Thanks for your time, Bob Buechler

virgin post......so excited....first post....and first satch gig ever.....It's great to see Sydney is up on the states shows for attendance so far.....however Melbourne oughta get their booty's into gear.I'm also in agreeance that an underaged gig should happen in Melbourne, I run into quite a few budding young genious players that would love to go to a satch gig, and Mr Vai too...lol.. Does that mean I wouldn't be able to go coz I'm an old bitch? ha ha!! i know a 16 y/o bass player that is hangin to take mental notes from The hamm.I'd love to be the first to phone him and let him know he can catch a live gig.All hail the boogie!! c-yu's there. cyn.
